Eh, I'm not worried. It's just a gaiden game, so there's not much to worry about.
As an aside, Freetranslation.com translates Jail's VA's name as "置 sweetfish Ryutaro". I vote that's what we call him now!

Double-posting tiem.
So let's talk about where this Salsaville place is.
As we all know, Salsaville has never been mentioned in any previous Suikodens. This is obviously due to the fact that Konami wasn't thinking about this game during the creation of the previous games, but let's pretend like we don't know what.
So where is Salsaville? Judging by all the Middle Eastern shenanigans this game has, I would assume it's located somewhere on the Southern Continent, perhaps below Nagerea/Zelant. This seems to be a popular theory. However, because I like to believe they were really thinking about the character designs in terms of location, I don't think they're on the Southern Continent. Judging by the looks of the characters only, I would have to say the Northern Continent, possibly even the Nameless Lands.
Not trying to be contradictory here, but I think the Northern Continent is more likely. But in terms of geography, the only real clue to the location is the fact that part of the border is on the sea. Maybe Salsaville is an island, not surrounded by any countries. Maybe in the secluded sea that surrounds the Northern Continent... This is all just baseless conjecture, but it would explain why no one's mentioned Salsaville before.
Or maybe Salsaville was a small country that was eventually swallowed up by Harmonia, and the game takes place before the SV-SIII timeline? Holy s**t, maybe Queen's from Salsaville?
Or maybe this game is set in an alternate universe that's not the real Suikoden worls we've come to know an love. If this becomes the case, I will refuse to play the game.

Partly because everyone automatically assuming, and I believe the whole assuming rule. Maybe I'm optimistic because the only "side-game" I've played and seen is tactics, and it directly related to IV. I can't see how this one directly relates to any of the others yet.

I'm so glad to hear about a new Suikoden installment but....Tierkreis seems totally off the main storyline. HOW COULD OUR 108 STARS FAIL??? :<
Also don't think that this'll make it overseas x_x but I'd like it too. Then that means I'd have to buy a DS D:

Boy have I missed this forum.
Well the new game being on the DS hurts me a lot. I'm still going to stay up on the news and videos of it regardless.

I was so hoping Konami went throughout the whole series without naming someone Ryu. Anyhoo, I'll be getting it no matter what the story material or the likelihood of it being separate from the main series it is. I needs my Suikoden fix.
