totally can't decide whether to write in past or present tense, so I'm gonna try past, I guess....
She looked up at him, shaking her head slightly as he dripped water on her, her wet bangs falling into her eyes. "Whatever you want to do.." she said doubtfully, holding the Barton Boutique bag close to her, trying to shield it from the rain.

A girl of about seventeen runs through the rain, her long purple hair is soaked and clings to her shoulders while her bangs are plastered to her forehead. She grits her teeth as she darts underneath an overhang to escape the icy rain.
"Blasted water!" She cursed. "If I can't get dry I'm gonna end up smelling like wet dog." Wringing her hair out and pulling her bangs from her face she brushes as much water from her clothes as possible and wanders into the cafe she had been taking shelter by. "Least I can grab myself a cup of hot cocoa to warm myself up," she grumbled.
After ordering her hot beverage and taking a seat, she slowly lapped at the whipped cream floating in her cocoa and savoring the rich flavor while paying no heed to her surroundings. A young child sitting at an adjacent table peered at the girl and clapped her hands in delight when she saw the tail brushing the floor.
"Look mommy, she has a fox tail just like the ones that people are wearing!" The child wandered over to the girl, ignoring their mother's call and grasped the tail in both hands and tugged it to show her mother.
The purple haired girl choked on her hot cocoa and cried out in pain.
"Watch it!" She cried. "That hurts!"
"That's a real tail, so those must be real fox ears she has as well!" The mother gasped. "What are you?"
The girl reached for her ears and paused, "I'm gone, that's what." She said as she stood up and headed back out into the rain.

Lunar's green eyes narrowed into slits, ears flat against her skull and the fur on her tail stood on end as she came to a halt sensing an evil intent. Slowly drawing her staff from the ties on her back she cautiously slid into a shadow cast by a building.

Lunar paused momentarily as she heard the blonde haired girl.
"Sazoria-chan?" She thought. "She hasn't been around for a while."
Backing further into the shadows she crouched down and hid herself from view.

Shielding her eyes with her arm she grabbed onto a rain pipe and clambered to the roof and darted towards a street packed with people.

A young man lay on his back, resting on the ice of the frozen Bass'ken lake. He felt the rain as it landed on him, slowly soaing him to the bone. It ddn't matter much to him though. He'd get up off the ice and out of the rain whenhe started to go numb. He never actually saw anyone leave the lake, running for cover, as his hair, wiehged down by water now hid his eyes aand the sunglasses in front of them from view. He heard their footfalls though. Heard the crunch of shoes angainst ice. He could even feel the vibrations, as a few people passed close enough.

As the dull roar of people franticly searching for cover finally subsided, the man still sat for a moment. He sat, and enjoyed the feeling of the raindrops falling and slwly soaking into his close, and the sensation of the soli ice at his back. For a split second he worried about falling through. He then remembered that he hadn't fallen through at any time urring the morning, so the risk of such a thing occuring now was rather low. He listened to all the different sounds the raindrops made. After awhile, he could distinguish where each one was falling by the sound it made. The man began to occupy his mind by attempting to count all the raindrops, and placing them into category's on whether they fell on ice, in water, in dirt, wooden roof, metal roof, or an actual person or animal. It was an impossible task, but nevertheless, the man tried. With millions of drops falling, trying to categorise the ones he had tie to count was enough

She goes back to the Paladin HQ and sat at her desk. It was a mess mainly because she doesn't partake in many Paladin duties.

In the few passing seconds, the man had noticed a small increase in the category of rain hitting people. To immersed in his counting, he didn't give it much thought until he hear the slight crunch of someone walking on ice again. He thought it strange, that someone would come all the way out to the ice in a rainstorm. Strange indeed, as the crunching ice got louder as whoever it was got closer.

Reflex kicked in at the feeling of his side being prodded, nomatter how gently. Snapped back to reality, the man rolled to his lef, opposite the direction the sensation had come from, rolling onto his left knee. Shifting most of his weight onto his right leg, he stood, his right hand drawing a knife that had been sheathed at his left side, out of reflex. He brought his left hand up quickly, knocking the hair out of his right eye.

Only then, he was able to see his 'assailant'. He found himself looking at a girl with the ears and tail of a fox. He then remembred his knife, and hastily sheathed it. He slowly replayed what had hapened in his mind. A gental tap, and then he'd been up with a knife in his hand in an explosion of sudden motion. Motion, from something that would have looked very much like a corpse, or unconsious person from a casual passerby. This taken into his mind, he realized that he had prbbly just startled the girl more than she had him. He spoke, rather confused and disoriented, and trying to think too much.

"Er..."
