He tossed his head in approval. "That is precisely the notion. The longer you keep it, the longer it can hurt you. Holding onto painful memories, in the course of time, kills the unhappy fellow who delights in nursing it in their bosom. Focus on those memories that bring a smile to your lips, that bring warmth and happiness, and let those moments drive you forward. Unlock the chains of the past that are binding you; you have the keys and the power to release yourself. It does not matter what happened. It has not left you maimed or even scarred. The whold world is there, just waiting for you to rejoin it."
He nodded to her brilliant, colorful wings. "I see wings on your back - I know that you can soar free of the weight of the world and truly live again." Casanova finished with empassioned finality.

She didn't know if there were irony in the fact that her happiness was in the thought of knowing she belonged to someone or the fact she literally had keys around her neck. Either way, they were words of wisdom. She could only smile gently, perhaps what she needed this whole time was only that of the company. She could always just try and forget the pain she felt, but remember what had caused it. That's what her mother had always told her.
Her eyes narrowed slightly, the thought of flying made her stomach tie in a knot. It would've been goofy if she had developed a fear of flying after have staying grounded for so long. Both of her parents had good genetics on both sides, both purebreds she and her siblings were the mixes but they seemed to have taken after both almost perfectly. They all had healing capabilities and miraculous speed while in flight. She used developed her flying long before her she worked on her healing. What could she say, she was a daddy's girl. Her dream had always been to settle down, with a happy family. The dream seemed to be shattered but the only thing she could hope for now was to make the best of it now.
It was true, her breed could only find freedom with that of the sky just like that of the unicorn was that in helping others, and those of kalona to cause pain. She debated it in herself for a moment, but it was a quick answer.
"Nah."
She did a bit of a shuffle with her feet before she could build up enough confidence to look him back in the eye.

"There... there it is." Casanova whispered quietly as he peered over at her with a sparkle in his eyes. "A smile." But then, after a moment, it seemed that the ground had reached up and pulled her down. The smile faded and so did that mote of confidence that almost seemed to be emerging was doused.
"No... that's no way to speak. I know that for a moment there you saw a future without the shackle of the past. And there, you went and turned away from it. You almost had it there, Kila! " there was a jovial, light tone to his voice but the message was serious enough. He hoped to bring that smile back, even if it was with a jest.
Casanova looked up to the skies again. "There, see the inviting, cool skiles. Don't you feel the need to stretch your wings? Nothing brings a smile to the face like wind in you wings."

She tilted her head at him, he was a curious one he was. Though when she listened to his speech she couldn't help but let out a small laughter. She twirled her unicorn tail around her leg and thought about it for a moment. She smirked again.
"Actually its been so long, I may have just forgotten how to fly," she raised her brow to see what he'd say. He was such a kind soul. She wondered if he was like this to all he was around. She would figure so, there really was nothing special about her except she was an alicorn if that would even be considered as special.
She inhaled a deep breath, the air was so sweet and indeed it was inviting. She just didn't know whether to accept or decline the invitation. He was right, how many times was she going to go around sulking about a guy who didn't give a damn about her. It was about time, she could just...let go? And then the confidence meter went down, again. She was trying...at least she thought so.

"Forgotten?" Casanova asked with undisguised increadulity. "Now now, that just simply won't do! Come!" He tossed his head. "We shall remedy this. I am certain that it will come back to you."
With a flick of his tail, he set off in a canter towards the far end of the clearing, and then a full out gallop. His wings began to flitter and then, his hooves ceased hitting the ground. He fluttered, gaining purchase and then with a bit of a turn, there was an updraft and he soared above her, smiling down encouragingly.
"Come now, Kila! Join me!"

She smiled and blushed under her crimson cheeks, he was oh so persuasive. Her brow raised as she looked at him and her smile grew wider as she stretched her wings. She had almost forgot what it had felt like to stretch, for so long they had clung to her sides. She took a deep breath as a few small feathers seemed to molt of as the wind picked them clean she gave a few swift flicks with her multicolored wings.
She looked at him, and did as he. Her feet sped and her wings moved with a grace she hadn't felt in a long time. Within moments she was in the air with him. She just laughed melodiously as she looked to him.
"Now what?" she looked to him curiously as she flew up and down, in circles...she finally felt a burden lift from her.

Casanova was aglow with triumph as he watched Kila take to the skies. What a tragedy that this beautiful mare with beautiful plumage had remained landbound for so long. Seeing her in the skies was like seeing a creature truly in its element. He was glad for her, and thrilled to be present for this moment, this memory.
"Beautiful!" Casanova crowed as he stretched his own wings, flying forward and upwards, coaxing her along. "You have been denying yourself and your potential! Let us just fly - to no where in particular, just wherever the winds and our wings take us. Truly, nothing is as freeing!"

Peer pressure. Kila smiled at the thought. "You are such a silly stallion," she replied wit ha laugh. Her eyes drifted to see the flutter flying she had never seen one like him in flight it truly was quite interesting.
"Not quite beautiful," she smirked. "Just fun."
She let the air flow beneath her wings and it just felt perfect. Her eyes wandered to the clouds. "Freeing." she repeated.
"Do you do this a lot then?" she called him. "Find someone to fly with and make an adventure all day?" she grinned.

Casanova joined in with her laughter. "I shall take that as a compliment, my lady. There is no joy in life if you can not take the time to laugh at yourself and at the world. You are as free as you let yourself be."
He flew besides her, not quite with the graceful, long strokes of the wind soquili, but with lofty flutters of his butterfly-like wings. "And your performance is beautifule, Kila! You are a natural, and I am glad to see you return to the skies!"
He drifted upwards, matching where her gaze traveled, drifting upwards to the puffy white clouds of a perfect afternoon. "I do! I live for these moments! Perhaps not always a companion flight. Sometimes it is a race over the grassy knolls early morning when they are still wet with dew. Sometimes it is a stroll by lakes at night, as still as if they were frozen, with the moonlight shining down upon it. Sometimes, I will just sit and talk, and travel through the life of another through their words."
((EDIT 6/9/09 - Since it's been a while, and since this was for the most part a meet and greet - unless you feel strongly otherwise, I'll go ahead and call this a wrap. PM me if you feel it should continue. smile ))
