Herald 08.10.08
When you come upon the scene, it is a weak and dying Herald that you find, unable even to stand. A few scattered feathers on the ground are the only remnants of the wings it once possessed. It has come to this place to die...or be saved? That, of course, is up to you.
You are alone when you find the angel. The Heralds have long gone unsaved, and though it appears to you, it does not hold much hope of living on. Near to where the two of you meet rests a grey stone slab that the angel seems desperate to reach. With your help, the Herald climbs upon it, needing something from you to save its life. What will you choose to give it? And what significance does that item hold for you? Is it a family heirloom? Something you happened to have on hand? Something you'd purchased earlier that day? A lucky charm?
You may have noticed that many details have been left off. This is because we want you to have plenty of freedom to develop the scene yourself. Consider time of day, weather, season, etc. when you post.
Gredda..? You returned?!
Consider getting a plant... Sheldon thought to himself as he remembered the words of his old friend before they parted and he moved away. ...and maybe it would make it easier upon yourself. After you get the plant, consider getting a pet. And if the plant and the pet are still living after a good period of time. Start dating again. It could be the best to help you through your struggle Sheldon. Sheldon tapped his foot down the sidewalk, the rainy atmosphere causing him to shield his head from any raindrops that made him seem like a target. He sighed. It has been way too long since he last saw someone. That person being the only woman he loved. As he came to the front door, he turned his gaze down. Sitting by the front door was a single piece of bamboo wedged inside a clear vase. Water was placed in it. But the foggy hue it held meant it hadn't been changed in a while. He shrugged to himself. He knew he wasn't ready. He couldn't even take care of a piece of bamboo. He sighed. He guess he could change the water until he was ready. Switching the plastic bags he was carrying to his other hand, he picked up the bamboo. Sheldon struggled as he did so though. Both his hands were full so it made it hard for him to open the front door. Sheldon eventually came upon the idea of using his mouth to open the door. Slipping the key between his teeth, he pushed it into the lock. Twisting his head about next, the door unlocked. He quickly pushed his way inside and closed the door back by using his foot.
Going towards the kitchen, he placed his bags atop the counter. The clattering of small bottles was heard as their glass hit the porcelain through the plastic bag. He sighed as he turned himself around. Pulling out the bamboo branch and setting it aside, Sheldon took a sponge and laced some soap on it. He scrubbed away the green that filmed the inside of the vase and set it aside to dry. Pulling out a new vase, one smaller than the clear and stained white, he filled it with water and dropped the bamboo piece in. He pushed it aside next. He would set it outside later. Aiming his way over to the bag atop the counter, he opened them and pulled out a bottle. Trailing over to the couch next, he slumped himself down. For the next hour, it was the same routine. Go to the counter, get a beer, than slump back down and drink it. He sighed. It was always the same routine overall when he came home. Heck, it was the same routine since his wife died. Alcohol seemed to be his only company nowadays. Wiping away his eyes, he was already buzzed from the alcohol that flowed through his blood. One more and he would go to sleep.
As he trailed over to the counter, he turned to the sink instead. He felt sick and gagged lightly but nothing came out. Wiping his mouth, he stared at the bamboo sitting in the vase. Taking it up, he decided he would place it out now. He turned with bamboo branch in hand towards the door. He opened it and placed the piece of bamboo aside on the door step. He turned his gaze to watch out in the forest. But as he did, he could of swore to his own soul he watched something fall from the sky to the clearing he was watching. Shocked, Sheldon ran towards the figure. Maybe someone was climbing around the trees and got hurt?...maybe someone was spying on his and fell to their death? As Sheldon wondered, he ran up to the creature. His eyes widened as he couldn't believe his eyes. In front of his lay a figure. Something. But it definitely didn't look like it had a gender from what Sheldon could tell. Bending down next to it, he laced his eyes over it. Before he could continue, shocking blue eyes opened to him. The creature looked like it was wincing in pain. Sheldon blinked. It definitely look like it was in pain. "I...I will help you...!" he slurred slightly as he tried his best to pick the creature up.
Combing the down that reflected off the creature, he carried it. But as he walked, the creature began to stir. "What is it? What is it? Am I hurting you?!" Sheldon freaked as the creature did so. The creature weakly pointed to the same area it was in. Sheldon walked back to the area, spying a stone tablet resting on the ground. "That?" he questioned as he put the creature next to it. The creature smothered itself on the stone, hugging it as if it was going to sleep. Sheldon looked over it again. It's blue eyes still held the feeling of pain within them. Sheldon blinked. Why was it still hurt? Confused, Sheldon watched the creature point towards the house. He quickly dashed towards it, heading at the front door. What did it want? What did it want?! He scrambled up some items and stone in his hands. His eyes laced over the bamboo and he grabbed it too. Running back towards the creature, he threw down the items. The Herald reached out and touched the closest object. Ironically enough, it was the bamboo branch. Wiping his eyes of tiredness, he shielded them again as a very light light illuminated the creature. Sheldon couldn't make out much detail as to what was happened as staring into the light was like staring into the sun. Finally, when he had a chance to look. The creature laid motionless as the branch he had offered it was gone. Scratching his head, had he killed it?!
Finally, his mind lurched forward. Maybe this was...Gredda? Maybe it was his wife returning to him? He yipped as the creature looked at him once more. He scooped it up again and smiled down at it. "It is okay Gredda." he said. "Everything will be alright." He wandered back into the house and closed the door behind him. Settling the creature down on one of the indoor couches, he laid down next to the other. Next thing he knew, he slipped away into tiredness. He awoke the next morning, rubbing his temple from pain. Blinking, he sighed. "What a dream..." he thought aloud. But when he turned his gaze, he saw the white creature lightly resting on the couch. This didn't appear to be any dream at all.

[[ ~> Continuation of Prompt Reply ]]
Sheldon scratched his head as he rested his eyes on the resting creature. It looked peaceful. Too peaceful. As if life had slipped from it. With fear trudging into him, he forwarded himself over to it. Lightly taking his finger, he poked it. The creature cringed from the contact. He sighed as he dropped his head. It was...all right. Well, for now it seemed. Sheldon was definitely not a doctor. The creature still had energy but was still weak from whatever had happened to it. He poked it again and the small creature cringed before opening its blue eyes towards him. "You hungry?" he questioned as his stomach gurgled silently. The Herald made no reply. It just blinked at him before resting its head down and turning its face to the side away from him. Sheldon blinked. Maybe the creature was a mute? Whatever the problem was, Sheldon didn't care. He was hungry and obtaining no reply from the Herald meant a no to him.
He walked himself over to the kitchen and propped his elbows up on the counter. He rubbed his temple once more. It felt like a huge scar had just opened its way on his forehead. It pained his forehead so. But they were so common. Sheldon sighed. Maybe he should stop the drinking. It was doing too much to him already. Trudging over towards the refrigerator, he opened it and stared amongst its contents. There was little food. Most of his money was mostly spent on alcohol and rarely on nourishment. He had even lost a couple of pounds since it was the only thing he was surviving on since his wife's passing. He sighed as he slammed the fridge closed. It caused a racket and the Herald twisted as it got up to see what Sheldon had done. Sheldon just stood there, staring into the electric blue eyes of the Herald. It made no expression nor any talk but Sheldon could obviously guess it was disturbed by his anger.
"Sorry." he said in a nasty anger. He sighed. His hang over was giving making him angry. Though it wasn't very advantageous that he was releasing his anger out on his possessions. He stomped up stairs and looked back down once to see the Herald. It was resting again and ignoring anything Sheldon was doing. Taking a quick shower, he threw on some "what seems to be clean" clothes and headed back downstairs. He eyed the Herald again. It was resting....again. Was that all it was going to do? He had saved it and all it was going to do was REST?! He slammed his hand against the wall from anger. Really. It was USELESS! Sheldon sighed as he stomped up to it. "Hey YOU!" he raised his voice. The Herald awoke and stared at him again; no expression at all. "What's with you? All you do is sleep!" he firmly yelled. "Can't you make yourself useful?! If you are so useless...WHY DON'T YOU JUST DISAPPEAR?!"
The Herald blinked and suddenly began to glow. The glow seemed to match exactly the same lightly that occurred when Sheldon dropped the bamboo branch in front of it. Shielding his eyes, he was able to see once again when the light cleared. "What..the...hell..." he said as he looked once again. The Herald was gone. It wasn't there anymore. It just poofed into thin air. "Uh..." Sheldon said as he looked around. "Whatever you are...Where are youuuu...?" he questioned. "Where did you go...?" The rest of the day, Sheldon searched. The creature really seem to have disappeared. Just another thing to pop out of his life for good.

Herald 08.20.08
You sit inside, protected and comfortable as the weather rages outside. The evening meal is on the table, and you're filled with an intense feeling of well-being.
Your mind veers, against your will, to the dying creature that you had come across. It certainly wouldn?t be comfortable tonight. What are you thinking? It's probably already long gone. But...what if it isn't?
What's it actually like outside? Do you go in search of the Herald? What do you bring to make it more comfortable, if so? Do you even find it?
The Loneliness That Comes With Solitude
Sheldon sat there, picking at the remnants of his dinner in which he prepared but could not eat. It was another normal day, Sheldon just trying to bring his hopes up by not drinking and enjoying a lovely meal. The rain drizzled and poured outside his home, hitting the window with such loud pangs as if it wanted to be let in. Cracking his fingers, he smiled sheepishly to himself. "Well, time to get this meal eaten!" he said to no one in particular as he picked his plate up and jabbed his fork into the pork chop to the side. "Heh, you look good!" he talked to the piece of meat, not really wanting a reply back. As he pulled the meat to his mouth, he paused. His hunger diminished and guilt flooded over him. "Crap..." he muttered as he took he plate and slide it onto the table in front of him. The porcelain surface against the wood caused a hollow sound to be heard as he did so. "Not this thought again..." he said as his head bowed to prevent a saddened face to be seen. "Why the hell am I feeling so guilty for...?"
That feeling had been washing over Sheldon for the last couple of days. Ever since the creature had left, he had been questioning why it had done so. Sheldon believed it was his fault. He had screamed that awful statement of saying that the Herald should disappear. And apparently, it had listened. With his head drooped, Sheldon whispered a long sigh. It was all his fault he could believe. It was the first thing to make presence in his life...And it was gone out of all his anger. "You're such a b*****d Sheldon...!" he said clenching his fist and banging it against the table in front of him. His force caused the table to shake and make his eating utensil drop from his plate and onto the floor making a rattling sound. "You're so damn stupid! This is why you are so damn...damn..." He tried to hold back the tears, but they continued to follow with their flows. "...unhappy." He finished. He realized it now. He was unhappy. And even though that creature didn't speak. Didn't look at him. Made no expression. Only rested on the couch. It stayed with Sheldon. Widening his eyes, he wiped the residue of tears from under his bottom lid. That...was right. No matter what Sheldon did...It stayed. And even when Sheldon angrily told it to leave, it obeyed. Sheldon jerked from his seat. He had to apologize! He finally realized it now. He had to apologize. The Herald...wasn't a hindrance at all. It was just granting Sheldon the company he wanted.
Staring out towards the window, his will overcame him. He trudged towards the door and forcefully opened it. Wind swirled at his and pushed him back. It was quite a storm. But the wind and rain posed no obstacle. He had one objective. Bring the creature back. Back to his home. Where it belonged. "I'm coming for you!" he screamed over the roar of the wind and rain and marched out. As droplets smothered over his body with wetness, he cringed. It was cold. But again, his determination overpowered that feeling. "Bring the creature back home." was the message that repeated over and over in his head.
Sheldon wandered through the rain for a while. Calling "It". But no matter how much he called, he couldn't find it. Another hour passed and Sheldon had just returned from the back of the house's forest. Sighing, the rain danced around him, dying as soon as they hit the grass. The rain had let up and he was soaking wet. His objective was to bring home the Herald but it seemed that it was accomplished. In other words, Mission failed. As he trudged back to his home, he opened the door. But before he could go inside, something white caught his attention. He quickly slammed the door and hopped over the banister of the back of the house. He landed with a thud and this caused the white to roll in more under the back. Bending down, he wasn't amazed when his brown eyes met that of an electric blue. "Hello there." he said, happiness in his quiet tone. The Herald made no reply but turned away from him. Sheldon just smiled. Quite the rebellious creature wasn't it? Sheldon laughed and lightly put his hand on the creature. One pull and the Herald was pulled from its little hiding spot. "You shouldn't be out in the rain." Sheldon said as he trudged into, marking water down the back towards the living room. Resting the Herald on the couch, he smiled again. "That's your spot." he said. "Stay there as long as you want." Grabbing a towel, he draped it over the Herald. "You know..." he said as he dried off his head. "I missed ya. And...I'm sorry." But as Sheldon removed the towel from his head expecting an electric blue gaze, he gained none.
He strode over towards the Herald and removed the towel slightly from its face. It was sound asleep. Sheldon laughed. "You are quite like a child." he said. Walking his way towards the stairs, he grinned. "Night you." he said as he walked up the stairs. "Should be sleep for myself too..." And with those final words, Sheldon made his way to his bedroom to end the day.

Eeeeeeeeee!
Time fluidly passed as the day Sheldon saved the Herald from the rain vanished into the past. A new morning approached as he stood outside. It was a crisp morning, quite evident due to the rays of the sun from above. Sheldon whiffed the morning air as he wiggled his toes within the dew that formed on the grass surrounding his home. Cicadas chirped throughout the atmosphere of the forest. Shielding his hand over his eyes to glint out the sun, he scanned his eyes over the horizon in search of these loud insects. Suddenly, a loud ricochet of sound erupted from the forest. The cicadas began to sing in unison. Sheldon closed his eyes to heighten the sense of his hearing as the cicadas within the canopy of the trees hummed their hearts out. As the sound of cicadas roared, so did another sound. It started in low, than started to grow. It was apparently a low growl of the letter "E". Sheldon broke his concentration of the cicadas as be blinked. What was this sound?
Sheldon scanned his eyes over the horizon of tree tops until he focused his gaze down. A small girl, no bigger than the size of a medium dog, was curled at the base of Sheldon's feet. They both shared a quiet moment of staring at each other before the young girl threw her arms up at him and bellowed, "Eeeeeeeeeee!" Sheldon shot up in surprise before tumbling to the grass and landing on his bum. He shrieked lightly as he kicked himself away from the girl. What in the world?! The young girl blinked as she forwarded a step towards him like a timid kitten who had been deprived of food for so long and was looking for help. She was wearing nothing, with pure hair or white and eyes of placid blue. Something was sprouted from her back. It could not be seen, but it did appear green.
Staring around, Sheldon could not come to understand. Who was this girl? Had Sheldon earned some neighbors? Really, who was this kid and who was her parents? And why in the world was she wearing nothing? Tilting his head, Sheldon croaked his voice and asked, "Hey kid." Immediately, the young girl of white hair and blue eyes bent her head up to him. He blinked, to which showed she had responded. "Who's yer parents?" The young girl tilted her head the other way before she blinked and went to throwing her hands up into the air again and shouting, "Eeeeeeeee!" Sheldon recoiled back some more. Apparently, this little girl knew nothing more than the letter "E". Sighing, Sheldon picked himself up off and floor. Brushing off the grass that clung to his pants, he bent down and picked the naked little girl up. Whoever she was, she needed clothes.
Snuggling herself into the warmth of his arms, Sheldon felt a spark within him. It was a small flame, but it was like a fatherly appeal. He sighed as he shook it off. He wasn't suppose to like children. He never wanted a child. Him and Gredda just wanted to grow old together. But now, only he and himself could grow old. As Sheldon carried the toddler inside, he rested her upon the sofa. "Listen 'ere kid." he said as she little girl smiled at him. "Yer gonna stay here while I go fetch something for you to wear and do. Okay?" The little girl made no move but just smiled. Sheldon shook his head as he wandered upstairs. He immediately headed for his room to see if he had something of...extra small size.
Sheldon searched but came to no avail. Nothing seemed to be small enough to fit her. Everything was general man size as there was only on man living within the household. Shrugging, Sheldon grabbed a clean white tee and a pair of shorts with an adjustable string. As he returned downstairs, he was surprised to see the little girl sitting upon the soda, staring at her feet and swinging her legs. "Eeeeee!" she called as Sheldon came down and ran up to him as soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs. Afterwards, Sheldon slipped the shorts under her feet and pulled it up to tighten the string. Slipping the shirt over her head, she was dressed, for now.

Tears in Heaven
The wind blew lightly, causing the bottom of Grazie's sun dress to lift up. She held it down as she pointed her arm out towards the water. "That!" she said as she turned her blue eyes towards Sheldon. "You want to do that today Grazie-Bear?" he questioned as he heaved the guitar on his shoulder up more. Dancing her shoeless feet on the grass, she nodded furiously. "Kay." replied Sheldon as he began to walk. Grazie toddled after him, pushing off her sun hat to allow it to hang from a ribbon tied about her neck. Eventually, they reached the docks of the lake. Grazie had pointed out towards a boat on the water as she wanted to try the boat ride with Sheldon. Walking up towards the little booth that stood on the docks, he tapped the window. A woman sitting inside smiled at him, flushing lightly red from Sheldon's appearance. "Can I help you...sir?" she questioned as she picked at her long fingernails. "Um, may I get a boat for two?" he questioned with a sheepish smile back.
The woman blinked. "Two?" she questioned. "But I only see one-" she paused as she looked down and her fatigued green eyes met with Grazie's energetic blue ones. "Two it is!" she said in a somewhat happy but saddened voice. "Take that boat right there." she said pointing towards more down the dock. "But what about pay?" questioned Sheldon. The woman smiled. "I can't let a little girl have her fun ruined because her father forgot his wallet..." she said. Sheldon patted his pants pocket, all four of them. "How did you...?" he questioned but the woman flashed her smile again. "They don't call this river 'Forgetful Furrows' for nothin', dear." Sheldon laughed and Grazie tugged on his sleeve. "Yes, Grazie-bear?" he asked as he aimed his attention towards her.
"Grazie...wait...no more." she said. Sheldon nodded. "Well, let's go." Sheldon began walking down the dock but Grazie stayed behind for a bit. "Thank ye...lady." she said and then woman replied with a nod before Grazie ran off to join her father. Approaching the boat, Grazie ran ahead of Sheldon and jumped in. She tried to keep her balance when standing in the boat, but fell upon her bottom with a loud thud. She got up and rubbed her bum as Sheldon climbed in. "You okay there Grazie-bear?" Sheldon questioned as he took his guitar and pushed it to the side. Grazie nodded as she pointed her finger out once more. "Let's...there go!" she exclaimed with excitement. Sheldon laughed. "Well, 'kay Capitan Grazie-bear!" Sheldon replied as he began to row. Momentum was picked up as Sheldon began to row. Grazie kept her stance upon the front of the both. Her sun hat's ribbon tassels blew in the wind, making her look like a maiden within the sunset's orange light. Finally, the boat slowed and came to a halt. Grazie turned back around. "Pretty..." she said as she stared out towards the sunset that lingered leaving the sky the same different hues of orange color.
Sheldon unzipped the carrier of his guitar and pulled it out. The dull orientation that was created from the guitar obviously gave out the information that is was old. Quite old actually. Grazie blinked at it, but not too long did it take before Sheldon began to play. Her ears perked up at the song, as it was played in a dull tune. Sheldon was trembling as he played and when Grazie darted her eyes up to see why...She saw the tears in Sheldon's eyes. He continued to play though...tears flooding down his eyes. He stopped though and smiled at Grazie. "Y-you know Grazie...This was your Momma's favorite song..." Grazie eyes saddened and she approached Sheldon. She wiped away the tears on his face and coaxed his hand with her small one. "Again...play Padda." she said. Sheldon tilted his head. He wondered what Grazie was going to do. But no matter, Sheldon obeyed and began to play. Grazie blinked and lightly raised her voice to sing:
"Would you know my name? If I saw you in heaven..."
Sheldon blinked. How did Grazie...? He smiled to himself. That was right. He was playing the song constantly the other day. It wasn't a surprise Grazie memorized it. But there was something different when Grazie sang it. It gave the song emotion, brought the song alive. Sheldon smiled through his tears as he sang the continuing line:
"Will it be the same? If I saw you in heaven..."
Grazie blinked as she was beginning to cry too. She wiped away her tears as she and Sheldon sang the song together in unison:
"I must be strong, and carry on Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven
Would you hold my hand If I saw you in heaven Would you help me stand If I saw you in heaven I'll find my way, through night and day Cause I know I just can't stay Here in heaven
Time can bring you down Time can bend your knee Time can break your heart Have you begging please Begging please..."
A short pause was taken as Sheldon began to play the musical bridge before both of them singing again:
"Beyond the door There's peace I'm sure. And I know there'll be no more... Tears in heaven
Would you know my name If I saw you in heaven Will it be the same If I saw you in heaven I must be strong, and carry on Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven
Cause I know I don't belong Here in heaven.."
Sheldon smiled lightly to Grazie as he wiped a tear from her cheek. "That was beautiful Grazie." he said as he praised her. Grazie looked down, sniffling. "I want...to go..." she said with a pause before continuing. "...to Heaven." Sheldon tilted his head. "Why is that?" he questioned as he kept a silent face. "There is...happiness there..." she said. "...I want...Padda to be happy...So...I want to bring that..happiness to Padda..." But before he could reply back, Grazie climbed upon the edge of the boat. "I'm going to Heaven Padda!" she exclaimed."To bring you that happiness!" And before he knew it, Grazie had jumped. Sheldon reacted, pushing his guitar aside and grappling her. But in doing so, he fell into the water with her. Amazingly, however, the water was shallow. Sheldon stood and the water only reached up to his waist. But if Grazie were to have jumped in however, as she didn't know how to swim, she would of surely drowned. Sheldon scowled at Grazie, more tears flowing down his cheeks. It was hard to make out though, as his face from covered in droplets from jumping in. "What the hell were you thinking Grazie?!" he screamed through tears. Grazie bit her bottom lip. She didn't understand. Why did Sheldon stop her? "...Padda...?" she questioned as she wiped away the water from her face. "Why...Why did you stop Grazie...?" Sheldon clutched her tightly to himself. "It is because...I already found my happiness..." Sheldon said smiling towards her. "That happiness is the little angel I am holding here." Grazie began to cry, the droplets of water shimmering off of her white hair. "I am...your happiness?" questioned Grazie, clinging to him. "Why didn't you tell Grazie?" Sheldon sighed as he placed her into the boat. "I thought...you already knew." he said with a smile. Puffing up her upper lip, Grazie smiled and bent from the boat. Kissing Sheldon's forehead, she repled, "Padda is Grazie's happiness too!" Sheldon just smiled and jumped in the boat. "We...go home now?" Grazie questioned and Sheldon just chuckled. "Yes, we are going home now." and with that, Sheldon rowed the boat to the shore and began to walk. As they walked, Sheldon paused. "Did I forget something...?" Grazie shrugged. "I unno'." she replied.
The woman from the stall went from the booth to go check on the boat. She laughed however when she saw what was inside. Grazie's sunhat and Sheldon's guitar sat within the boat's bottom. She waved to them when they looked back, calling, "I think ya two forgot something!"

Goodnight My Little Angel
Sheldon sat upon the couch, mesmerized at the television which flashed the scenes of a show not even he himself had heard of. Leaning back, he had already put Grazie to sleep an hour ago. Himself couldn't sleep however, as his mind was buzzing with thoughts. It had not been long since the Herald that was laying upon the couch he was seated upon had changed into the rascal that was now sleeping on his bed. His life really did feel different now. But it was more fun. Exciting even. It was the same excitement he had held for when...she was alive. Their happy years, before he committed himself to his job...and left his wife to loneliness. Tears flooded his eyes. But when he came close to sobbing, a small voice cracked his sadness. "Padda?" came the voice from the stairway and Sheldon darted his eyes towards it. Grazie stood there within her nightgown, clutching her Zamboo tightly to her torso.
Sheldon smiled lightly, his caramel eyes warming up even with the glistening of tears that radiated off of them. "What's wrong Grazie-bear?" he questioned as he patted the seat next to him. Grazie trailed off towards him, cautiously as she spoke. "Sleep...can't..." she said. "N-nightmare..." Sheldon picked her up and placed her on his lap as he patted her head. "Would you like some water?" he asked. Grazie shook her head as she darted her blue eyes up towards him. "Padda...crying?" she questioned as she took note of how watery his eyes were. "Oh!" he said as he lightly wiped away a small tear rolling down his cheek. "No, I'm not...Just...tired." Grazie nodded her head and rested it against him. "Padda..." she spoke again. "Grazie...can't...sleep."
Sheldon smiled down at her again. "What shall we do to get you to sleep?" he questioned. Grazie blinked as she rested Zamboo on her own lap. "Lullaby." she said. Sheldon widened his eyes. "What...are you talking about?" he questioned. Grazie pursed her lips. "From the Pretty machine." she said pointing down the hallway towards the back. "The Pretty machine. Sheldon can play, right? Grazie wants Padda to play...lullaby." Sheldon smiled. Grazie had probably found it one day when wandering around the house. She was quite the adventurer. "Can Padda sing...Grazie lullaby?" she asked. Sheldon nodded. "Padda will." he replied with a smile. Picking up Grazie and resting on the floor, he began to walk to the back. Grazie toddled after. After reaching towards the back door, Sheldon trudged the door open. The room hadn't been open in such a long time. But it was easier to open this time. Enough evidence to persuade Sheldon that Grazie had been in the back of there. When the door opened, Grazie ran passed him and pulled the tarp off of a covered item. The object was revealed however to be the "Pretty machine", moreover a piano.
Sheldon walked up and pulled up the stool needed to sit by the piano. Grazie pulled up a chair from the back and placed it in the back on the piano. But no, she didn't take a seat in it. Rather, she used it as an assistant to help her climb to the top of the piano. She turned and rested her bottom against the top and let her legs dangle. "Comfy?" Sheldon questioned as he rested his finger against the top of the ivory keys. Grazie nodded. Sheldon flushed slightly. He was embarrassed, even though he was only playing for an audience of one. Silence was taken as Sheldon took a breathe. Grazie tilted her head, but she silence was broken by the playing of the ivory keys. The opening of Grazie's lullaby was played before Sheldon raised his voice to sing:
"Good night my angel time to close you eyes And save these questions for another day I think I know what you've been asking me I think you know what I've been trying to say
I promised I would never leave you And you should always know Where ever you may go No matter where you are I never will be far away...
Good night my angel now it's time to sleep And still so many things I want to say Remember all the songs you sang for me When we went sailing on an emerald bay
And like a boat out on the ocean I'm rocking you to sleep The water's dark and deep Inside this ancient heart You'll always be a part of me..."
Sheldon began to continue playing and Grazie blinked her heavy eyes. Yawning and rubbing her eyes, she muttered a small, "...Padda..." Sheldon smiled lightly and sang the musical bridge:
"Do do do do..."
Grazie blinked again, wanting to be awake to hear the finish of the lullaby. But she couldn't take it anymore. The sound of the piano and Sheldon's voice lulled her off. But Sheldon wasn't paying attention though. He had concentrated his eyes upon the keys, singing away the last verse:
"Goodnight my angel now it's time to dream And dream how wonderful your life will be Someday your child will cry and if you sing this lullaby Then in your heart there will always be a part of me
Someday we'll all be gone But lullabies go on and on They never die that's how you and I will be..."
Sheldon smiled when he saw the sleeping Grazie upon the piano's top. Closing the top of the piano and shielding away the keys, he got up and picked up Grazie. Cradling her, she nuzzled into the warmth of his arm. Smiling once more, he walked down the hallway towards the stairs. He climbed the stairs and entered into his room. Aiming towards the bed, he laid Grazie down. He tucked her in and smiled. "Good night my little angel..." he said as he took a spot next to her. Not too long did it take him to fall asleep too.

Time has passed, and your Herald is becoming fond of you and beginning to show affection. You two have grown closer, but that's not the only aspect of growing.
The Herald is maturing into a young child before your eyes. No longer dying and weak and no longer sexless, it now has beautiful angel white hair and dark blue eyes of unusual depth. You may have noticed that the Herald has been scratching and touching its back for a while, and now it's finally explained. The herald's wings have started to grow in.
How do you deal with the child's discomfort? Do you have any remedies to ease it? How does he/she react? How do the wings reflect the item given?
Itchy, Itchy!
Grazie rubbed her back against the wall, her tiny hands clenched to her head as she squeaked with frustration. "Itchy!" she cried as she ran from the wall to the couch, moving herself back and fourth against the ruff fabric of the seating. Sheldon blinked, watching his young daughter run from one place to another. He had ignored the first time she had done it during the day, believing she was probably play as a dog with fleas. However, it was already an hour and most of the time Grazie would change what she was playing by now. Walking up to the small Herald as she itched against the wall again, Sheldon smiled. "What's wrong Grazie-bear?" he asked as he put his hands on his shoulder. Grazie frowned and pointed to her back. "Itchy!" she cried again as her eyes darted to the side. Twirling Grazie around, Sheldon lightly tugged part of her dress down. "Let me see." he sad and blinked when he was greeted with what appeared to be three green stalks penetrating out of her skin. "What is this?" he questioned aloud and ran his finger over the green structures. Grazie flailed and cried, "No touch, no touch!" and batted Sheldon's hand away. Sighing, Sheldon told her to turn around again. Grazie shook her head but eventually obeyed.
Staring at the green points again, Sheldon lightly put his nose forehead. He sniffed lightly and the fragrance of freshly growing bamboo entered his nostrils. "Interesting." he said as he turned Grazie back around. "Seems as though you have little bamboos growing out of you." spoke Sheldon as he smiled. Grazie turned to scratch her back on the wall again but Sheldon pulled her back. "No." he said as he frowned. "We will find another way to soothe your itching state. Come on, we're going to the bathroom." Grazie toddled after and climbed the stairs in unison with Sheldon. When they reached the top, both turned to the left and entered into the confines of the bathroom.
Running the water, Sheldon undressed Grazie and plopped her in the water. "Cold!" she cried due to the temperature and Sheldon ran more warmth. Nodding his, Sheldon gestured his finger and Grazie turned around. Taking a loofa, Sheldon motioned the soft ends of it on Grazie's back. "That feel better?" he questioned as he continued his circular motions. Grazie nodded her head, a satisfying smile on her face. "Padda did it!" she giggled before nearly falling asleep in the tub. Sheldon laughed as he pulled her out. "At least I helped." he replied.
