As the winged mare got to her feet she kept her eyes on the basket just slightly to the side of her. It was rocking back and forth wildly and she was a little worried. She remembered breaking free from her basket but she had just kicked a hole in the top effectively giving her dad a bloody nose. She never wiggled so much. "Are ya stuck kiddo?" She asked nudging the basket. Inside the basket the little foal swayed from side to side trying to figure out which way this thing opened from. It was dark inside and while it had served as a home for a while it was time to bust out. The foal stopped swaying at a familiar voice. Mom's voice. A little whinny followed by the rapid bobbing of the child's head was the signal that yes, she was stuck. After a few minutes of head shaking she hit her head against the top of the basket and knocked the lid loose.
Bright light flooded inside living the child blinking a daze.Carmine jumped backwards as the lid flew off. She found herself looking down at a little winged foal blinking in the sunlight. She wanted to squeal in joy but Tavarii had just rushed in. "She has my wings goof." She exclaimed proudly stepping to the side so that he could see the little girl sitting in the basket.

Eyes widened at the look of his third daughter. She looked like him. "And she has my tail!" he laughed in glee, flicking his long, cheshire cat-colored tail. "And my eyes! Lookie!"
He nudged the basket he was carrying open and a little gray-purple head popped out as well. "Another girl!" he grinned.

The little foal sat lopsided in the open basket, ears pricked forwards as she sneezed again. Amber brown eyes headed to the sky, searching it, and then looking between her parents. And she offered a grin.
Then the cute, itty baby look was off her face, instead covered by one of ornery glee as she leapt upwards, landing on her hooves and taking off into a wobbly, falling-over trot around Carmine.

The little filly stared up at the big stallion with wide eyes. She flicked her tail mimicking him like a mirror then scrunched up her face and sneezed. She giggled and watched as he moved to a basket not to far from her. She grinned seeing another in the basket. More company!
Carmine smiled as her other little girl popped out of her basket. How wonderful! Two girls, one with wings to keep her company on her flights and one without to always keep her father occupied...and wait. She blinked and looked from one purple filly to the other. "Where's the other one?" She asked craning her neck about trying to see if it was just hidden behind his form. She couldn't see anything.
The star colored filly watched her sister for a moment trying to figure out exactly who she was. After a few seconds she gave up and toppled out of her basket. She shook her head before getting shakily to her feet to investigate the one her size. She could hear her mother speaking but didn't quite know what she was talking about so ignored it.

Inside the basket was dark, so dark that the little filly spent most of her time asleep inside. She had finally woken up and she felt more energized than she had since...well since she was born. Blinking she sighed, she should probably make her way out of the basket soon. Ears flicking she listened for any other horses, she had remembered hearing murmurs before she had fallen asleep, she didn't want to come out of the basket and end up completely alone.
"Hey, love," A stallion nickered and a mare whinnied in reply. "Darling, I've been looking for you, what are you doing so far out in the forest?" The stallion chuckled and sheepishly replied "I was looking for it, you know what would happen if I didn't...
The voices faded away and the filly began to wiggle in her basket, her parents were leaving her behind! That wasn't how it was supposed to work! She rocked the basket back and forth trying to make her way out, not wanting to be left behind. Unfortunately for her she didn't know that the voices she heard weren't her parents and that the stallion wasn't looking for her, but for something completely different.

Tav blinked at Carmine, lost for a moment. What other one--ohhhhhh... Wait...
He'd just had it...
Where did it go?!
He gazed all around, ears pricked up. "Er...Hold on! I remember where I stashed it!"
But if these two had hatched...
Ohgod, his child, out on its own! He could feel the blood rushing in his temples as he took off at a run.
He found the little tan and black basket, moving the branches away and heaving a sigh of relief. It hadn't hatched.
"Right here!" he said with an ounce of pride.

Carmine looked furious. Her children were like very very special jewels and were not to be 'stashed' anywhere. "Ya left it behind?!" She was torn behind smacking him over the head with a wing or just glaring at him. She settled for glaring. "How could you do somethin' like that?!" She turned to her little girls and nudged both of them. "C'mon munchkins lets go fetch the other one." She sounded surprisingly sweet when she spoke to them then she rounded on Tavarii like a hurricane and took off after him.
The little winged filly had no idea what was going on but she was supposed to follow. With a silly smile on her face she pranced after her mother and father before realizing she wasn't moving nearly fast enough to keep up. Taking a few deep breaths she made like she was going to run and just stopped. It wasn't worth it so instead she just dropped to the ground and lay there on her side staring out at the sky.
Carmine let out a sigh of relief to see the basket completely unharmed. She smiled at it before glaring at Tavarii. "Don't you dare leave things like this behind Goof!" She snapped sounding a considerable amount like her father when dealing with her uncle. She took a few steps closer to the basket and nudged it. "Ya gonna come out?" She asked her voice soft again. After they made sure this one was alright she could worry about the other hatchlings.

The winged filly froze in her basket hen she heard another voice. Who was that? There was a deep voice and then a lighter, sweeter one, one she could almost grow to like if she wasn't aware that these voices weren't the voices of her parents. Her parent's were out looking for her, these new voices must've hidden her away. They weren't nice horses!
She whinnied in surprise when her basket was nudged, she didn't want to come out now! Not when she was around her kidnappers. But, she couldn't stay in the basket forever. The little filly started to tremble with indecision, things were so hard to figure out. The dark inside the basket wasn't helping her any, she didn't like being alone in the dark, she had been for so long it wasn't relaxing anymore.
After another seconds hesitation she decided it was now or never to get out. Rocking back and forth more violently than she had before the filly managed to tip the basket and roll out, laying sprawled across the ground, wings splayed out. She whined glancing up at her kidnappers, she was at their mercy now.

Tav grinned back at Carmine as their third and final child tumbled from her crib. Wings. Beautiful, raven-black wings, just like Carmine's. Infact, she looked just like his Angel.
One looked like him. One looked like Carmine. The last was a mixture of both. All three girls and, by the look of the way the Grounded filly was behaving, running laps around him, all three spitfires.
"They're perfect," he laughed, stamping a hoof lightly.
She noticed nothing was different between herself and her siblings. They all have legs. They all had tails. They were all girls.
The filly with the red-splashed leg gazed back at the forest where her sister lay. Lazy? Or tired? How could she be tired?
And then she swung her head to face the cream-pelted sister. A smile rose on her lips as she whickered and nudged the other with a random flick of her two-toned tail.
"Angel... What should we call them?"

Carmine smiled at her last daughter. She seemed entirely unharmed which was wonderful for everyone present. "I'm glad t'see ya squirt." She said cheerfully nosing at the girl who looked surprisingly like herself. She even got her scarlet butterfly.
She turned to look at Tavarii but didn't seem as angry anymore. "Of course they're perfect. They're girls with thieves' blood." She beamed in pride over the children and over their heritage.
She rolled over to look at her other sisters and smiled. Her striped tail flicked back and forth before she got back to her feet. With a wide grin on her face she trotted over to joining the rest of her family only stumbling every so often. She came to a stop next to her mother and nudged her roughly to make absolutely sure that Carmine knew she was there.
She grinned at her daughters then fanned out her wings to stand proudly. "Well I think it's only natural for Goof to name the kidlets he's supposed to watch." She shot him a look telling him he better not lose either of them. "And this one will be...purple cause she is." She looked down at her kid and somehow got the feeling that just wasn't going to cut it.

The little filly pushed herself up onto unstable legs, wobbling a moment before she was fully standing. She kept her wings outstretched, helping her balance. Kohl rimmed eyes flickered from stallion to mare waiting to see what they would do. She just wanted her parents back!
Carefully she moved closer to her wingless sister, pressing against her. The couple must have stolen all three of them away! She pulled her wings in tight as she huddled close to the hazy purple filly, waiting to see what would happen next.

The little filly blinked honey brown eyes as her sister pressed close. The feel of feathers against her skin both excited and terrified the young foal, but she could feel the others' fear.
Why be afraid? Mom and Dad wouldn't let anything happen to them!
She puffed out her chest and nudged her sister, a reassuring movement, then glanced between Tavarii and Carmine.
He beamed right along with her...though he also caught the look that plainly said 'lose another foal and DIE' on the new mother's face.
Thief's blood. Although, also the blood of the innocent. Tav was still a colt at heart, though now with three children to raise, he would be growing up. Not alot. But some.
Hmmmmm...names...
"Well...for the one that looks like you... Astra. Astraaelin. It means 'starry...something', even though she's the only filly without stars speckling her flanks. And because she'll fly to the stars someday..."
He glanced over to the odd filly out, his filly. She would never see to the sky, like him. But she deserved a name fitting as well.
"And Akiilani. Lani meaning 'sky or heaven'."
He looked up to Carmine, to see what she thought, then frowned at her name idea. Purple. Why...purple...?
"How about...something that ties in with your background, Angel? Surely she's deserving of that!"

She nodded in approval hearing the other two have names presented to them. They were suitable to them. Just like Purple suited her daughter. She frowned at goof as he told her to name her something involving her background. "Purple is well suited t'me and my family, thanks." She said tossing her nose in the air.
Her name being a color as with her mothers and her father's being a shade. She saw nothing wrong naming her child in the same fashion. However... She reflected on the names. None of them were really flat out colors. Scarlet was a shade of red as was carmine and dark was a type of black really. Perhaps purple wasn't the best name for her after all?
Tilting her head to the side she made a small sound considering something. "How bout 'Malta' instead of purple? It's the same thing but Malta sounds better." She smiled at another thought. "Then they'll all have 'a's in their names."
The little filly blinked at her parents before making her way over to her siblings with a wide grin on her face. She looked at them leaning on each other and decided to join throwing her entire weight on her tan sister. She didn't know what her parents were talking about really. Something about names. It couldn't matter really.
