It has been my experience that cheap strings are never durable. It's worth the extra few dollars to buy strings with good sound quallity and good durability. I use Fender Bullets .09-.48. They make my peice of crap guitar sound half way decent.

I use GHS Boomers 11-50 set, and I've never broken one.
