Bell VS Frey! The Fight of the Feathers! Over!

"Alright; Ice Beam!" Renekai shouted.

This time, Bell attempted to dodge while charging the beam, but she was hit too soon. Bell quickly turned around in mid-air, grabbed Frey with the foot not holding her bag, and attempted to blast her Ice Beam right in his face. Bell sensed that the other pokemon was getting weaker, and she hoped that this would be the last blow.

The melting slush on Frey's talons must have made Bell's grip slip, and Frey was able to fly upward with a beat of his tired wings out of the Delibird's grasp in time avoid the Ice Beam.

"Great job Frey! Let's keep it up with Steel Wing!" Sienna called. She was so proud of her little Pidgey for hanging in there for so long.

Frey fell down in a dead aerial dive, letting gravity do it's job as he used only minimal energy to aim himself for another Steel Wing attack at Bell.

"Use his fall to your advantage! Ice Beam!" Renekai ordered, noting how recklessly that Frey flew.

Bell waited for a fraction of a second, just long enough for Frey to have no chance of dodging in time, before firing the Ice Beam. Bell felt the hard wings slash her as they went by, cutting out some feathers, but she was not too badly harmed. Just a few minor scratches, though Bell was quite angry that her beautiful feathers were getting cut up. It would take weeks for the new ones to grow back in! Bell flew higher into the air before turning to see if her final Ice Beam had done any damage-- she sure hoped it had, for Bell felt that Frey deserved it after using Steel Wing so many times on her.

Renekai noted that Bell was getting tired, though her anger gave her even more spunk than was normal. Well, Bell being angry was normal, but... Never mind. The point being, the match had to end soon! Frey was putting up a good fight, but all things had to come to an end...

Frey was showered with a blast of flakes and flurries of ice, becoming frozen and numb as he fell to the ground. He felt pangs of anger at himself for being so weak and losing his first battle with his new 'trainer' . On a brighter side, he noted, his last attack had done some damage. It wasn't anything personal, he was just trying to win. Frey had lost a few feathers himself, frozen off from being hit with Ice Beam so many times.

The crunching of wet grass grew steadily closer as his trainer ran over to him.
"Frey! You were fantastic..." Sienna said as Frey fainted.
Sienna then returned Frey to his pokeball, where the cold was being driven out of his body and warmth returned to his feathers.

"Thanks for the battle." Sienna said and gave a small smile as she stuck out her hand towards Renekai. "And you too, Bell. Sorry about your feathers." Sienna gave a nervous smile and felt a sweat drop forming on the back of her head.

Renekai grinned, shaking Sienna's hand. "Any time. It was a great battle! Frey will be really strong once he evolves, if you keep training him so well!"

Bell turned her back on Sienna when she apologized, giving a small, "Hmph!" in reply.

Renekai looked at her Delibird. "Sorry... She's just like that... She doesn't hate you or anything, it's just that she doesn't really like anyone..." Renekai laughed nervously. "Well, we've got to get to the pokecenter!"
