Well my centaur's a shopkeeper and he'd wear examples of his wares because he wants to sell them! biggrin

Norofel
I'd love to take you home with me and tuck you into bed,
I'd love to see what makes you tick inside your pretty head.

I don't mind being nude, with the exception of my chest. Seeing as it's publicly unacceptable for women to run around clothesless, but it's perfectly acceptable for female horses, I think it's best to simply follow the rules depending on which half of your body you're covering. ;o

I'd love to hear you laugh tonight, I'd love to hear you weep.
I'd love to listen to you while you're screaming in your sleep.
That, I agree, is indecent.

it simply depends on society and how said beings interact.

Animals obviously do not care. How did humans ever come to wear clothing? At some point they didn't. It came from necessity to protect from the elements since naturally, apparently, they don't have much going for em. After then it would seem it was so common design and such became important and it was more common to see someone with clothes.

Either way imo it doesn't matter, in mythology though nearly everything was naked.

I can keep warm with my wings, but how I long for, say, a sharp, white centaur tuxedo...

It also depends on climate, some of the border guard might wear clothing in the northern/mountainy regions (heck yes mountainy is a word wink ) But as far as clothing for the heck of it goes, I think that its rather un-necessary. no reason really to wear it, unless it makes human friends uncomfortable

So a lot of you think it's important for the girls to wear something for the sake of modesty, but what about the guys?

I mean, sure we keep everything internalised normally, but what about when we're in season? I for one wouldn't like to have to deal with the damn thing flopping about when I'm trying to get around, so I'd have to opt for some kind of retaining pouch or whatever if only for practical purposes, to say nothing of having my junk constantly on display.

being a nudist is a bit uncivilized..

I'd rather cover up my girly parts thank you very much!

Well, the normal practice for Centaurs is to go around without clothing, but I prefer to wear tops as coverage...Or armor depending on the situation at hand...

Horse lady here doesn't like showing off for the undeserving perverted human males (and possibly some females) >.< But amongst the centaurs, it's alright, because they're all close to nature and nakiness is natural.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who feels that having one's organs on display would be undesirable.

I don't think that centaurs would wear clothing that didn't serve a purpose. Modesty and indecency are human concepts, and ridiculous ones at that. Why should we hide what comes to us by nature? Do not all animals go nude? Are we not born nude?

Clothing is to be worn for one reason, and that's protection. If it's cold, put on something to keep you warm. Going to battle? Wear some armor.

On a sticky hot summer day, do you really think it's prudent to put on clothing and be miserable for the extra layers (Especially when half of you is already covered in fur), just for the sake of modesty? HUMAN modesty, I may add.

No, I think nudity is a perfectly fine and natural state, and I see no reason to believe otherwise.

You all make good points but here's a thought:

What about the females? I mean jogging without support is quite painful, so I'm told.

What about a brisk canter?

Some form of retaining garment must be required, right?

Actually, I would imagine that REAL centaurs females would actually have no breasts on their upper bodies...why? Because breasts, as much as you straight guys and lesbian females may love them, are not for pleasure, or even for showing off: they are for feeding children. If a centaur had its breasts up high on its body, I do not think it would be physically able to lift its child up to its breast...I believe that a centaur would have its breasts much like a horses: tucked away between its hind legs. I also believe that theirs would function much like a horses: they would stay tiny, no bigger than a n****e, usually, until a birth, when they would grow larger only until the babe was weaned, where upon they would shrink again.

So, to answer the question, there would be nothing at all on the upper body for either sex of centaur, not even nipples, so there would be no qualms at all about walking around with nothing on their chests.

If they are forest creatures fancy costumes would just get in the way.

Perduto... Half horse, half human... think... Whatever a horse's lower body has, it will have, and whatever a human's upper body has, it will have! That's like saying we don't need hair, because we have tails now!
