Richard glanced up and did a double take. He swallowed hard, his mouth suddenly becoming dry. "W-wow...it's....wow..." He breathed, not able to take his eyes off her. "Ratoo bisu!" Enty clapped and held a thumbs up. Richard finally managed to compose a whole sentence as he rubbed the back of his neck, as he always did when nervous. He said: "You look...stunning...breath taking really...." he said thoughtfully, taking her in with his eyes. "Jaque, you're a genius!" "Yes I know that...She is now presentable! You better treat her right and take her somewhere to show all this off!" Jaque demanded as he crossed his arms indignantly. Richard laughed and smiled, looking to Lorelee for her opinion.

It took a moment for her to break free from her smiling stupor. People telling her she was beautiful, and being kind to her... it had the feeing of coming to a real home. "Jaque, you're a gem," she said, giving him a short, fierce hug. But in her eyes, Richard was the real savior. Quickly Lorelee crossed the room to nearly launch herself at him. "You dear, dear man! I can't ever repay you for this, I know I can't!" She was laughing and nearly crying again. "Thank you, thank you!"

Richard was shocked by the hug but smiled as he looked down at her. "You could repay me...by erm- having dinner...with me?" He offered, hoping he wasn't over stepping his bounds on this one. Enty cocked his head but knew it would come to this.

Lorelee pulled back with an awkward blush on her cheeks, an endearing thing that brought a little light into her eyes. "Spending more money on me seems an odd way for me to repay you... but," She looked in his eyes to see if maybe there was an answer to his odd behavior. At first Richard was all hugs and coos when she was crying. Then on the walk over to this shop, he grew a bit distant, only looking at her a few times. Was there hurt there? She couldn't quite tell yet. "I'd love to.

Richard exhaled and smiled, relieved. Enty looked at Richard long and hard. Since he had known him, Richard had never even really looked at another woman. He knew about his friends hard past and figured this was his reason behind his reclusion from women in general. Thats why he was so shocked that Richard, out of nowhere, essentially asked out this girl he had just met. "You're not going anywhere in that..." Jaque condemned as he went through a rack or two. "here..." He tossed Richard a simple but elegant pair of navy blue dress pants and coat with a white dress shirt and matching bow tie. To Richard, it looked like a tux, but he didn't protest. Quickly, he emerged from the dressing room, looking quite spiffy himself. "Well...." he dusted his sleeves off and held out the crook of his arm, as was customary for gentlemen to a young lady. "Shall we?" He asked with a warm but awkward smile.

Richard looked just like Prince Charming coming to take her away from all her troubles and woes. Even though in her heart she knew her problems were far from over, Lorelee embraced the distraction. She held on to his arm the way she had seen the ladies in the theatre do for their dates, and nodded. Enty seemed a bit perplexed, if she could read his furry expressions. But, as long as Richard knew how to accommodate his friend, Lorelee felt she didn't quite have to worry about it.

Richard glanced back and gave Enty a look. The little Arran nodded, grabbing His friend's old clothes before nodding to Jaque and trailing behind the two. He knew he would try to stay out of sight to give them some alone time, but he had to be close enough to keep an eye out.

"Where shall we be going, though?" Lorelee asked as they stepped out of the shop. She hoped it wasn't any place too rich, because she hadn't eaten all day, or most of the previous. Since Berta had been in a terrible mood, she had forgotten to make Lorelee anything.

Richard's mind froze for a moment. He had forgotten about where they would go. He actually had no money so he wouldn't be able to afford the place eh wanted to take her. "Erm...the BlackHole Cafe?" He offered, realizing how horrendously lame that idea was. here he was in a tux, with a beautiful woman, but all he could offer her for a night out on the town was coffee and a light dinner at a cafe.

Which of course, to her, sounded like a dream. "The cafe? Really? I could never afford that place... and I bet my stomach can handle it." She nodded with excitement, unconsciously holding on a bit tighter to Richard's arm. "It'll be so nice with the sun going down, too. I've always seen so many people there at sundown." It was amazing how she had gained such confidence and happiness with a simple dress and fresh look.

Richard looked at her amazed and impressed. He was glad she liked the idea but something was bothering her. "So you've never been out like this? I mean for fun?" He asked, curious as he strolled calmly, which was quite the opposite of what was going on in his head.

She shook her head. "When my mother was alive, we had enough between the two of us to pay bills and eat well. When she died, I had to take up her work as well as my own to make sure everything just stayed the same." Lorelee wondered what he would think of her when he really knew where she had come from. "There was never any time to just go out."

Richard raised and interested eyebrow and nodded understanding. "I can relate, believe it or not..." He admitted, giving her a smile. "I grew up with my mother as well...my father died in the line of duty before i was born...My mother worked hard to support me, so that I could fulfill my dream of joining the police force-" He stopped short, realizing he was probably giving away too mcuh, he didn't want Lorelee to judge him on his huge mistake after entering the force, and also didn't want to risk her safety over. He covered it however, by pulling his arm away and gently draping it around her shoulders, since the sun was going down and the air was a bit cooler.

His gesture made her heart flutter. "My mother died by a drunk driver... she never came home one day. And my father left when I was little." Lorelee felt like such a pity case then. She wondered if that was the only reason he was taking her out and buying her things."But enough sad things. The police force? Is that why you could take on Damian so well?"

Richard's muscles tensed momentarily and he swallowed. "Er- that was a while ago...I...resigned from the force a few years ago...a-after the loss of my wife..." He would have usually made up some crazy heroic story to make her lose interest, but he felt like he owed her the truth. Lorelee was a sweet girl that he just couldn't lie to. What was most shocking though, was that he had never mentioned his wife to anyone except once to Enty...
