Richard looked her up and down with a smile. "We could help with that much..." He said as he cocked an eyebrow. Enty seemed to catch on and nodded. "I've got a friend here who owes me a favor...I believe he owns a small clothing store near here....we could go there. I'm sure he'd let you freshen up there...." Richard offered, though was already heading in that direction.
((should we just go to the air streets for this or...?))

A favor? That sounded strange for a simple clean-up. "Al-alright..." Lorelee followed him, unsure of just what was going on.

It had been a day since he had expelled Lorelee from the premises, but he felt no guilt.
Damian sat in his father's chair behind the ornate desk, beaten and bruised thanks to Richard's valiant attitude. It sickened him to think that this rough upstart could so easily perform an act that doubtless in Lorelee's eyes earned him immediate favor. How could he, Damian Centurion, have let himself lose to such a brute of a man?
These thoughts spun around his addled mind until the last of his wine had been consumed.
"But, Damian old boy, you've atoned for your heinous acts." He smirked at the idea of Lorey opening up the envelope he had left, the look in her beautiful eyes as she realized she was free from all pursuing debt collectors who would, without mercy, follow her like wraiths.
Causing her that happiness was enough to justify anything he had done. Or so he thought.

Lorey led Richard directly to the office of Damian Centurion. She was nervous, so much so that she was shaking slightly.
"Now, are you going to behave?" she asked in obvious jest. Lorey appreciated with all her heart what he did for her, but wasn't entirely trusting that he wouldn't take another punch at Damian.

Richard sighed. "I'll try..." he mumbled, though was serious. He wouldn't advance the man unless he hurt Lorey again. And even then, he would hold back until Lorey wasn't around. Just so she wouldn't see the result.

"Alright." She gave him a quick peck on the lips before knocking on the door.
Inside, Damian looked up. In his heart, he knew exactly who it was.
"Come in," he said in the most relaxed tone he could muster.
Lorey opened the heavy door, searching for him within the room as soon as she did so. Once again, there was Damian, sitting with his little glass of wine. The only difference that time being that he was bruised almost like Richard was. Somehow, she wanted to make this encounter different between them.
"So you do always wear that expression, even when there's no one around?"
Always a battle of wits with you. But it made his eyes glitter.
"Of course. I cannot disappoint. Goodness knows when I could be caught unawares, and heaven forbid anyone thinks of me as happy." Damian looked over to richard, and was surprised to see his black eye. "Karma is a lovely thing, isn't it?" he said, with no effort to mask his malice towards him.

Richard's face remained calm though the comment burned him. "At least mine is a badge of honor rather than one of disgrace..." He replied coolly, trying not to say the other words that were fighting through his teeth to seep out. Like a gentleman, he was going to keep his words calm and mild while Lorey was present.

"This," Lorey said, cutting in between the ice between the two with the envelope, "Is why we're here, Damian." With delicate fingers she began fishing out the slips and letter.
While she did so, Damian took all of her in with his eyes. Her new dress, the way she had her hair arranged, even the new glow she seemed to possess... it was all enchanting to him. But with Richard there, he knew none of that glow would be for him.
Lorey held out everything in the dim light of the office. "I... thought you wanted to ruin me."
The words did hurt him, but he could not deny it.
"Of course a part of me did. But come now, you're a bright girl. It causes me to wonder why you've chosen this one here," he said, hurrying through the last sentence but making a definite gesture to Richard, "But think of another reason why I barred you from the world of cleansers and bleach."

Richard stared at Damian, his eyes like daggers. He had so many comebacks for this jerk but knew that Lorey had things handled. He would let her do the talking.

Seeing she had no answer, Damian continued.
"Because you deserve better." It was almost said in a whisper, but with conviction. "You need not drag yourself to the level of the filth you clean, down into the dirt that these aristocrats drag in and leave behind."
"But I can't become anything better than what I was," Lorey said, utterly confused.
"Yes, you can. You can become one of those stylish waitresses at that bohemian cafe everyone talks about but would never be seen at. You can enchant customers at a bakery, selling them pastries perhaps you yourself made. You could tend to people in the flower district, though they might not take you for risk of making the flowers look homely." Lorey blushed slightly at his compliment, though with Richard's agitated state, wished she hadn't. "Anything is better than doing what you did for your entire life. Why follow the footsteps of your mother when you could have the chance of working your way up?"
"Damian..." Lorey took a few moments to think everything over. What he said made perfect and yet no sense at all. Finally, she consented to becoming a bit angry with him. "You made me lose my apartment, for crying out loud! I have no place to go, no pace to stay! I'm thankful that you paid off my debts, but now I'm in yours and it won't do!"

Richard cocked an eyebrow when Damian complimented her. But what burned him more was that Lorey was receptive to it. Yet he let it go in time to realize Lorey's point in all of this. What would Damian want from her now that he had essentially made her debt free?

"This is true." Damian resumed a meditative pose as he leaned back in his chair, fingers together. "And what shall the repayment be for such a grand gesture? Not only have I forced you to better yourself, thrown you into the path of this," he said, once more motioning to Richard as if he was a specimen, "which I suppose is beneficial to you, but I have also rid you of all debt in a world where even the sweetest creatures are thrown into prison. What shall it be?"
She waited patiently for the verdict. It all felt like a terrible set up on his part.
"Well?"
Damian finally averted his eyes to Richard.
"Give me a moment alone with this man, and we'll call it even."
Lorey looked shocked. That was it? A moment with Richard? It would no doubt lead to conflict, but...
"You're trust is what I am asking for."
And so, Lorey slowly left the room, not knowing what else she could possibly do. Damian had hurt and helped her so much. To deny him anything seemed foolish.

Richard seemed just as surprised as Lorey. He watched slowly as she left before turning his attention to Damian. "So what's this really about then?" He asked coyly, leaning against the wall as he reached for another cigarette.

Damian rose from his chair to meet this Richard, knowing that without security cameras in the room, anything could happen. But, with hands behind his back, he approached him in an aristocratic fashion.
"Come now, Richard. Not every action in this world of mine has a double meaning. I simply wished to help her." He noted the cigarette with some distaste before moving on. "And you. You became quite the scandal a few years back... but I silenced their tongues." There was a bit of sympathy in his eyes before he spoke once more. "Some things are not meant to be spoken of lightly. Or at all."

The cigarette was inches from his mouth when Damian spoke of the 'scandal'. "What did you say?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, dropping his cigarette to the floor. "How do you know about that?" He asked, taking a threatening step towards Damian. He knew he shouldn't dignify this idiot with any emotion whats so ever but he was pushing it. How did he know about his private past? Richard stared at him, demanding an answer.
