Far too numb with surprise to protest, Alex allowed herself to be lead off by Sevilin, only snapping out of her bewildered reverie at the words 'cake' and 'We`rika' in the same sentence. "I bet we're all gonna be really happy after that cake," she muttered, more to herself than anyone else. She gave the Frei a gentle squeeze, intending to hug him if not for the fact she was suddenly restrained from behind.
She squeaked, whirling around to face her attacker. "Aphismet!" she exclaimed, initially happy. The happiness shifted into surprise, confusion, curiosity and finally lighting on a content type of warmth; she had not seen him since his hair had gone white, and while it shocked her, she could see Isi clearly in her mind's eye. You too, Aphi? she questioned inwardly, but refused to voice it out loud, instead throwing her arms around the young man in a tight hug. "I've missed you!" she proclaimed before releasing him, smiling ear to ear. "Yeah, it...it's still surreal," she admitted softly.
"Oh!" Alex blinked in surprise at Rivener, whom she still hadn't met properly. "Thanks, Rivener! That's super cool of you to come!" she thanked the dark Frei, smiling between him and Aphismet. She was sincerely happy to see the both of them, especially as in good spirits as they both seemed to be. "It's really nice to see both of you."

Kinsey had jumped out and yelled her 'surprise' and 'happy birthday', smiling wickedly at Alex's expression. Surprise parties really where the best when no one spoiled the surprise. At least the host managed that. (It was a good sign.) Before the young woman had a chance to go and congratulate Alex, she had already been swept away by a guy and...some friends of his? Well, one of them seemed to be in charge of the party, but. She'd have to figure that out when they came back.
Kinsey swept dark hair behind her ear and looked at the two other females left in the room. Huh. Alex was probably the only person she knew here! Smiling sheepishly, she leaned against the wall and regarded the pair of girls. "Hey. M'Kinsey. I don't think you're too late, no," she offered the girl who came after the surprise. She shrugged. "Friend of Alex?"

Aphismet grinned at Alex, not at all making the connection about his hair color. It had long since become natural for him to have white hair, and he didn't think twice about it. The italian's range of emotion was a little bit confusing, but Aphi shrugged it off. "I missed you too! Munchies is doing great, but she's associating with a demonsheep and might be up to some bad things... But she's good! And I realize now that you and I still haven't gotten together to paint, after all this time! You should come by sometime, there's a room just for painting at my house! Well, it's Isi's house really, but you know what I mean!"
Aphi then began hearing the buzz of other people behind him in the living room, and he realized that he couldn't be hogging the birthday girl all to himself all night. "Hahah, seems there are lots of folks here who want to wish you a happy birthday, so I'll let them have a turn. But call me sometime, we'll paint! Have a happy birthday, again. I'll be around getting drunk, or something." Aphi chuckled and leaned forward, placing a kiss on his friend's cheek. He then turned to leave, heading out into the living room.
Rivener had just watched everything quietly, smothering a laugh the entire time. As he floated off, following Aphi, the red eyes turned one last time to Alex and the Raevan half-giggled. "Super cool?" He repeated, amused by the choice of words. "Hahaha, Super coooooool," he said again, sing-song, ducking out the door.

How could Kyou miss his newly employed part time worker's birthday bash? Even harder to miss when We`rika called him up personally to join it. Tempted by the prospect of strip poker too, Lazarus decided to tag along, though he wasn't too keen on hiding like an idiot waiting for the birthday girl to arrive.
As Alex socialize with people in the kitchen, Kyou popped up from behind Aphismet. "Happy birthday Alex!" he chirped up happily. "Look what I got!" raising a bottle in his hand, he showed the bottle of vintage wine to Alex. This bottle is one of Kyou's secret collection of wine. He's not an avid wine appreciator, but he had a few bottles stash away for occasions like these. Dating 20 years ago, this bottle of wine is promising to be in excellent taste and quality.
Lazarus doesn't really like close body contact, nor did he know Alex very well. Just that one time when he saw her talking with Kyou in the beach bar during the summer festival. So instead of going up to congratulate Alex, he chose to keep a little distance from the group gathering around Alex as he watched Kyou from behind.

Alex listened with an earnest smile, nodding at the reminder of the promised painting session...what was it, a year ago now? Time sure flew! "I'll come find you again, don't make me drag you home," she joked warmly, returning the kiss on Aphismet's cheek automatically before he left. She turned and regarded Rivener with a small bit of confusion as he floated onwards while repeating her words, shaking her head to herself. He was a strange one, that Raevan. She made a mental note to tease him well and proper when he wasn't skulking about.
The woman was going to have a heartattack if people kept popping up, even if it was a surprise party! She couldn't help from grinning at the doctor's happy greeting, looping one arm around him in a half hug as she lifted the other hand to observe the bottle. Her eyes became a touch wider as she looked between the bottle and her part-time boss. "K-kyou, are you sure?" she asked, stunned. "I...thank you!" As with Aphismet, she leaned over and gave him a swift kiss to the cheek, squeezing him in the partial hug before letting him go.
"Thanks for coming," she smiled warmly. Spotting Kyou's charge near by, she lifted a hand to wave in greeting, not really knowing him well herself (seeing as the only time they'd really 'met' was when he was yacking up pie). It was still a little strange to be surrounded by so many people and Raevans alike. She didn't know when she had accumulated so many friends, but Alex was beyond grateful, from the bottom of her heart.

Josh had never heard of Alex and the name We’rika was just a hazy memory from the beach bash. So when he received a call from the gruff Huichol, the teen couldn’t help but be a bit apprehensive about going to the surprise party. After some thought, more like three seconds of gazing at the homework piled on his desk, Josh decided that perhaps it was best to attend another Lab shindig. After all, what was the worst that could happen? He would meet a few more owners and possibility another raevan or two?
So here he was. Josh was propped comfortably against a wall with a stuffed dinosaur in his hands. The pudgy green creature was adorned with the perfect puppy dog stare and a pristine pink ribbon curled cutely around its chubby neck. He would hate to admit it, but his mom had picked it out. Josh had never been one to choose good gifts. The last time he was left to fend on his own at a gift shop, he had managed to buy the girl a pair of socks and snow globe. To say the least, he was no longer friends with her…
“Surprise!” Josh cried along with all the other guests.
His eyes flickered over to the crowd surrounding an ebony haired woman. A smile upturned Josh’s lips. So… she must be the guest of honor. He made his way over to the older woman and smiled sweetly, “Happy birthday Alex. It is a pleasure to meet you.” He donned his trademark smile. The kind that warmed your heart in a way that put basket full of kittens to shame. He held out his gift like it was some sort of offering to a goddess.

Aphismet had walked over to the goodies table and was startled to find absolutely no alcohol present. Not to be rude, but it just felt weird to be at a party, in WERIKA'S house, and not have a drop of booze in sight. The chef didn't know why, but he expected the Huichol to be packing a huge collection of drinks. Sighing, Aphi resigned himself to a few chocolate covered strawberries instead, turning around to look at the room at large.
Ah, there was ONE person with a bottle walking about! But, Aphi noted with a hard swallow of nerves, it was Dr Kyou himself! Well, there goes THAT idea. There was no way Aphi could walk up to THAT person and ask to share the drinks... Kyou was like some kind of god. Aphi had cared for Rivener for what, a year and a half? and this entire time he'd never had the guts to talk to the Raevan creator.
Rivener had spotted Laz by the door when he and Aphi left the kitchen, and the Scorpion had grinned happily. MAN, he'd forgotten how utterly gorgeous Laz was, all grown up with his abs showing. Lifting an eyebrow for a moment before he caught himself, Riv floated over to the Sigel. "Hey, Laz!" He smiled, wiping any weird ideas from his mind. "You look uncomfortable. What's that about? Here, come with me, let's play a game, and you'll feel better." Single-mindedly, Riv grabbed Laz's wrist and tried to pull him towards the poker tables.

Kyou blushed a little as Alex hugged and kissed him on the cheeks, but somehow he just couldn't wipe that happy grin off of his face! It's a nice feeling when someone thank you so sincerely. "Yes I'm sure Alex!" He said, grinning wider. "I'll go and get this popped open while you get busy with your guests." Kyou said as he saw Josh coming in. Giving Josh a polite nod as he caught the boy's eyes, he waved the bottle at Alex for the last time as he headed to look for something to pop the bottle open.
As he turn around he saw Aphismet instead. "Hello there, you're Aphismet right?" Kyou remembered seeing him in a few occasions, and he also know that he is Chloe's boyfriend. Although he never really talked with the man directly before. "Nice to meet you, I'm Kyou." He introduced himself as he raised up his free hand.
"Hello, whu..? Huh??" Lazarus was halfway saying his greeting to Rivener when he was suddenly dragged away by him. He didn't resist however, and just let Rivener lead the way. "What's this about?" He asked as they reached the poker table. He know people play poker with these cards, he saw them on TV before. But he's not sure how to play it, nor did he intended to participate in the strip poker. He just wanted to watch!

Chris had jumped up and said surprise with everyone else, and was grinning from ear to ear afterwards. That is, until she looked around for a little while and realized that she didn't know anyone. Chris gave a inward groan as she remembered that she was suppose to be just as party shy as Cierra. But no, she had managed to delusion herself into thinking that since she had had a great time at the summer party, she would have a great time here too, even though she was practically a nobody.
Chris then started to worry about her present. Is it even really that good? What she had brought was a selection of five different breads, each made into the different animal shapes of Gwee, Kiki, Coco, Mochi, and Momo. Originally, she had bought it for herself the other day, but she had remembered when she was ready to leave for the party that it would be rude to just show up without a gift, so she had brought it with her. So now it was sitting on the gift table, the white bread box wrapped in a simple ribbon. Why did I ever think that bread would be a good gift....?

Aphismet's eyes widened and he swallowed again as Dr Kyou came right for him, actually SPEAKING to him and offering his hand to shake! Aphismet flustered for a moment, falling all over himself and grinning stupidly. "I, uh, uhm... Er... I-I..." Clearing his throat, telling himself to get a grip before he completely ruined this first impression, Aphismet finally took the doctor's hand and shook it energetically. "Oh my god, i-it's so nice to meet you, D-Dr Kyou! I, erm... Y-yes, I'm Aphismet. Rivener's g-guardian." Gah, Aphi had fallen back into his stuttering speech pattern! Where had all his recent confidence gone?! Right down the crapper, that's where! "I, uhm... Th-thank you. For Rivener. A-and all the Raevans, really. A-and for erm, f-for Chloe. Just... Hahah, erm, say, could I m-maybe have a glass of that? I seem to b-be suffering from Nerves..." He smiled sheepishly, blushing profusely at actually asking for the doctor's alcohol.
Rivener stopped in front of one of the tables, turning a sparkling red eye to Laz and chuckling. "It's poker! I don't really know how to play either, but there's instructions here on the tables, see? Come on, let's play!" Riv sat, motioning for Laz to do the same. "We don't have to strip if you don't want to, let's just try out the game!" Although Riv secretly thought that it would be much more interesting if Laz DID strip, he would certainly not say that and get the fire Sigel mad at him.

Kyou couldn't help but chuckle lightly as he frowned at Aphismet's nervous state. "Don't need to be so nervous around me!" He said cheerfully as he patted Aphi's shoulder. "I am just a guest in this house right now, same as you right? So we're of equal ground. Just call me Kyou." He was reminded of his current mission though when Aphismet mentioned about the bottle of wine in his hand. "Oh yes, I was just about to open this to serve for everyone. I need some glasses though..." He said as he looked around, wondering if We`rika had any in his house at all. Snatching a chocolate dipped strawberry into his mouth, he went to dig in We`rika's shelves for wine glasses.
"Ta-dah! Here we go!!" From one of We`rika's bottom shelves, Kyou produced 2 wine glasses. Opening the bottle with a soft pop, he poured the wine into the glasses - washed of course, and handed one to Aphismet. "Here, to soothe those nerves." He said, grinning happily.
Frowning, Lazarus eyed Rivener up and down for a moment, not that it's a long distance for his eyes to travel though. "If we played strip poker, it wouldn't be fair. Since you're wearing so many more accessories than I am." He stated simply. "But I guess a simple game of poker wouldn't hurt." Lazarus said as he moved to one side of the table, reading the instructions on the table. "It says here, we need a dealer to deal the cards, so you deal? Or I deal?"

Your guests. Alex wasn't sure if the term freaked her out or made her happy. Maybe it was a mix of both. With this in mind, she gave Kyou a wavering smile and exited the kitchen, just in time to be greeted by the cutest young man on the planet. She was momentarilly taken aback by his expression and lip-puckering cuteness; it should have been illegal, she was such a sucker for doe-eyes. "Hi Josh," she quipped cheerfully, her previous trepidation melting away in the face of such sweetness, "I...uh, it's very nice to meet you!"
Maybe it was the smile, or the adorable stuffed animal being offered up like the Holy Grail, but something was throwing her off, like a memory she couldn't quite recall. Gingerly taking the stuffed beast, she hugged it to her chest, fingers playing over one of the stuffed legs. "Have we met before...?" she ventured hesitantly. Josh looked awfully familiar, and she couldn't pinpoint why. It was possible she'd seen him at the previous events, but she couldn't be sure with all the faces that seemed to add to each celebration. "Thanks for coming!" she exclaimed, erasing the uncertainty. "I'm really flattered by everyone here. It's proof that random acts of kindness do exist, huh?"
Well, there she went again, rambling something inane. She supposed that was the small bit of anthropology in her talking, so it was easy enough to shut it up. She glanced for somewhere to put the cute plush for the time being (that Lorenzo would no doubt claim as his own the second she set foot in her home). Alex wanted to free up her hands to greet other people, even if she really did want to hide behind the adorable dinosaur. Easy to please? Unquestionably.
While looking, she spotted someone on the couch, looking somewhat forlorn. Tilting her head to indicate Josh could follow if he wanted, she moved over to the person, putting one hand on their shoulder. "Hey," she squeezed Chris's shoulder, "chin up. It's a celebration, we should all have fun, right?" Alex smiled warmly, feeling about as out of place as could be but trying her best to be social. Nothing like excelling at one's weak point!

Chris nearly jumped out of her skin when Alex squeezed her on the shoulder--she had most definitely not been expecting anyone to come over to her. After all, no one had ever really come over to her in other parties. But now that she was past the initial shock, it actually made her feel a lot better. Chris gave a small smile at what Alex told her. "I'll try my best to have some fun. I had a great time at the summer bash, so hopefully it won't be too hard." She paused for a moment. "Well, besides the fact that I don't really know anyone," she finished a bit sheepishly. Chris then remembered who she was talking to. "Oh! You must be the guest of honor. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name's Chris," she said cordially, slipping into the more formal speech pattern that she had when she was trying to disguise nervousness.

Josh was gleeful that he had managed to hand off his gift with no snags. Alex seemed to actually enjoy the stuffed dinosaur! He was almost home free….
“Have we met before...?"
Josh faltered. He was positive he had never met this woman before. But how had she known his name if that was the case? Josh gulped nervously. Could it be that he had actually forgotten someone he had already met! He tried to shove the thought to the back of his mind. However, a touch of uneasiness still hung around him causing his cheeks to flush in embarrassment. Well, even if he had met he before, he would just have to reacquaint himself now! “Your welcome,” he paused to examine the woman’s face a bit more closely… just to make sure he had never seen it before. Auburn eyes scrutinized her features. Her wide green eyes that glittered with mirth…. the pleased smile spread on her pouty lips…. the smooth jaw line and tanned skin…. It was all unfamiliar. “I’m afraid that I don’t think we have met. I’ve been to a few Lab events before. You may have seen me around?” Josh chuckled. He followed after the woman and wasn’t too concerned when she allowed another person into their conversation. He peered down at the girl on the couch and purred at her, “Don’t worry none of us will bite. I’m Josh. It’s a pleasure to meet you Chris.”

Niksia had received a phone call, probably like many other people involved with the Lab. She'd already been to one birthday party before and enjoyed it, so she made herself only a little late because of her own preparations. The little box that just fit in her palm was pretty well wrapped, with only a little mess on the edges to show that the redhead was never going to be the best gift wrapper in the world. Without really knowing what to buy she'd resorted to a small snow globe with a fairy inside. Tucked inside along with it was a bit of paper that stated it was an IOU, Niksia's favorite kind of gift. You never knew when someone would need a favor in the future, so it listed her cell phone number as well.
She was dressed as she usually was, nothing fancy required. Having walked into the busy living room of We'rika's, Niksia nervously rubbed the back of her head while holding the gift up slightly to stop it being bumped.
'Hi? Hope I'm not too late!'
