I don't know the anatomy of a horse. gonk Yeah, I shouldn't have brought it up if I didn't know, but I felt it was worth mentioning.

I'm pretty sure those are the only two things in a horse's neck, and obviously humans also have both of them.

In my imagination, the top ribcage protects above average sized lungs and little else, while the bottom ribcage protects a large heart and digestive organs.
...I doubt this info is much use to anyone though.

Pacifice It would look a little more like this, as we have hooves not feet. http://www.tetragrammatron.com/fruitimages/centaur.jpgheart...prolly in the horse part...because we need a bigger heart for running...and for the bigger body. I would guess the lungs would still be in the human part but would be much bigger...taking up most of where human organs usually are. I think most of the organs would be in the horse part. That makes sense, though 4 lungs and 2 hearts would give a lot of stamina. Edit: I Had a thought, I'm assuming there are human teeth what does a centaur eat?

I'd love to take you home with me and tuck you into bed, I'd love to see what makes you tick inside your pretty head.Personally, I thought they ate everything humans ate. Some centaurs are vegetarians, some omnivores.. Since I doubt horse stomachs are equipped to deal with meat frequently, I'm sure our human stomachs would take care of it. I'd love to hear you laugh tonight, I'd love to hear you weep. I'd love to listen to you while you're screaming in your sleep.

Or how about organs that are specially adapted? Like, they have one purely human stomach, and the second stomach is more horelike, and the human stomach only digests part of the plant matter before passing it on to the next stomach, but completely digests the flesh matter?

Would that affect us? I'm no expert on the matter, but I think that the two brains ( human and horse) will have fused together just like the bodies and they will share both intellectual human thoughts (logic, problem solving) but also the "Oh my God, there's a clump of grass!" thoughts.

To make sense and be realistic enough, I would say: one brain (its logical enough, dont want to be arguing with myself) a very long digestive system (well, cows do have 4 stomaches, what makes two weird for a centaur?) two sets of lungs could work, or it would probably be in the horse body (can you imagine small human lungs supporting this creatures size?) one heart, unless you are a octopus, I cant imagine it working otherwise, you can prove me wrong. two livers would do wonders for the system. two sets of breasts/utters (milk production, thinking, or maybe just one, then we would be flat chested D: )
just to say, I dont think all organs work as well if there are two, but just like god gave us two eyes, one as a spare xd

Elec Darkholm I recently read some scientific exploration of mythological creatures, specifically centaurs. They do have two of nearly all organs how ever one brain and one set of reproductive organs. Two stomachs Two sets of lungs Two intestine that connect Two hearts Two sets of kidneys obviously it can't be known for certain, duh, but it was well done, I'd go by it.
Hey, makes sense to me...I agree, go by it since we will never know for sure!! biggrin
