Just because you don't think any other woman should be subjected to your "boyfriend's" s**t, doesn't mean you have to be. There are court orders and actions you can take to make the beatings stop. You can make it on your own as a single parent. There are many state offered programs for housing and medical care and food stamps. Use them! and especially use WIC they help pay for formula for the baby.

Maybe your "boyfriend" has a drinking problem? If that's the case you don't want you or your child to be subject to that. If he is beating you now, what's to say he won't some day go after the baby? Is it going to have to go that far before you are willing to leave? I know these things are easier said than done when dealing with some one who is not well. But when you are with someone for a long time you become just as sick as they are and start to enable them to keep doing what they are doing. That's not ok. Get yourself out while you can still see the problems. More importantly don't go back to him and don't fall for another guy like him!

Sometimes you have to move on from a guy even though you have a huge crush on him. If he is really in love with the girl he's dating now, you have no idea if they'll ever break up. At the same time he could, and then maybe want to get with you. I think that if you find someone else you're interested in then you should forget about your best friend's brother.
