Storm and Starr both stared at the drawing in amazement and confusion, then exchanged a glance. Then they looked back at Aderyn and Storm asked bluntly, "What's a motion detector?"
Starr glared at her brother, then looked back at Aderyn. "Sorry, he didn't mean to be blunt," she apologized for him, feeling as if things were getting back to normal with them. "Is it some sort of technology? We don't have much of that back home ... so it's a bit new to us ..."

"eh?" Aderyn said and looked at thew two confused. "You have no experience with technology?" she asked politely.

Starr shifted her posture a bit, a little embarrassed.
"Well ... we have electricity ... and running water, so we have a bath and a shower and a fridge and stuff ... and lights ..."
"And Grandpa has a van!" Storm offered eagerly. "And Papa has a ... what's it called again? That he uses sometimes at the library?"
Starr's white eyes shone. "A ca-puter!" she agreed. "Or something like that."

"A com-puter," Aderyn corrected her.
"Well.. what I drew here is a bit more complex than the things you've seen. It is a motion detector, which means if set up, it can see if someone is around. It is mostly used to hinder burglers and other criminals." Aderyn explained long and detailed. "So it should be helpful for you two." she added with a giggle.
"With a few modifications, we can make it look for a specific person...." she mumbled and turned back to her drawing. She scribbled some more on the paper.

Storm was startled. "You can make it look for just one person?" he asked in awe. "Wouldn't you have to know what she looks like?"
Starr was mostly looking at the sketch. She couldn't figure out how all those pictures and stuff made something that would keep them - or anyone else, for that matter - safe, but she wasn't going to say so.

"Yeah!" Aderyn giggled. "No problem at all. We just have to input some traits to look for. Like hair color, eye color, skin tone, age... and so on." she explined. Aderyn was getting excited about this.
"I'll try to make a few by the time you come here again. If you tell me when that happens of course," she promised eagerly as she gnawed on her pencil.

The twins looked at each other in surprise, then grinned at Aderyn.
"Well, we never know when we'll be coming back here again," Starr began.
"-but we'll be sure to come and find you the next time we do!" Storm finished with a wide, goofy grin.

Aderyn smiled widely. She had caused a change in the mood!
"I'll make sure to build at least one by then!" she giggled and rubbed her nose. "Shall I make one that can fly?" she asked and her eyes begun to shine.

Storm blinked in amazement. "You can do that?" he asked, his voice filled with awe.
Starr giggled. "You remind me of our aunt Kali," she told Aderyn brightly. "She likes to take things apart and put them back together and find out how they work and then make things of her own."
Storm chuckled softly. "Grandpa was mad when she took apart his cell phone," he remembered fondly.

"Sure thing! Consider it done!" Aderyn announced confidently and stood up.
She then looked at Starr as she told her about what their aunt had done. "hm hm, that's right. it's tough when you dont have material to work with," she agreed and nodded eagerly.
"Luckyly, I found a great place the other day," she continued. "There are mountains of parts and other useful things." Aderyn couldnt help but to utter an excited giggle. Her heart always begun to beat faster when she thought about building something.

Storm and Starr exchanged a glance, and then Storm stood as well and looked at Aderyn.
"What place?" he asked curiously. "Can you show us? We won't take anything, we wouldn't even know what to do with any of it."
"We're just curious," Starr added with a warm smile. "We don't know much about technology, so we like to learn what we can."

Aderyn looked at the two, doubting if they really meant what they had said.
"Are you sure?" She asked. "It's awfully dirty andd messy there.... I wouldnt want to get your clothes dirty..."

Starr's milky eyes shone brightly.
"It'll be fun!" she smiled warmly. "And it is something that we know so little about, we really should learn - especially as in most places, technology is so prevalent ..."
"I just think it's kind of neat," Storm added with a shrug. "I don't care much about the rest of the world. Or any worlds. 'Cept Mama's world, that one's fun."
He loved going there, and seeing his aunt who commanded such powerful magic and who helped them to learn to control their own.

"Alright! Let's go then," she then announced and skipped towards the bush she had come from.

The twins followed after her eagerly, their milky eyes glowing with excitement - but as they went, their eyes scanned the world around them, searching, still fearful of another encounter such as they had had before.
