for normal gold:
i usually go post crazy, usually on the chatterbox with a crowded contest so i can enter bump contest and dice roll at same time. doing that really helps.
go to the arenas and vote on avvies and art, its good for a quick bit of gold. if you ever get one of the random gifts that float around, my advice is not to sell it, i usually get better gold than what i would get i opened it.
the market:
if you dont want to spend real cash, then save up your gold using the first way, and scrape up just enough to get a newer monthly collectable, then buy it, and save it. after a few months you should be able to sell it quite a bit higher, then with that gold, buy another new monthly collectable, and you should have some gold left over.
For questing:
usually i find the best donators in the towns. i go there then i hang around a random town and chat with people. once i get a good chat going, eventually the conversation goes to avvies and stuff. thats when you tell them what you are questing. Sometimes you will find a person with extra gold to spare and will help out, or an extra of the item you need. I personally found someone with like 500k or something so he chipped in a bit of that for my cosplay outfit.
***this does work better for cosplay, and if you dont just go begging***
what else.....
ah yes...
free tektek contests. if you get one they like you could make a quick extra 1-10k plus get some extra gold from posting.
those of you who like roleplay:
go to a roleplay thread, you can post for hours without realising it, and make tonnes of gold.
ALSO:
participate in all the events. you also go post happy, and you wont realise how much gold you've made for a while ( i usually make between 3 and 10k per event, however during the waterfestival i made 13k ish.)

I started out about 1 month or 2 ago and then I opened up an art shop and got about 5k from it. I also finished a 300 question quiz and got 2k-3k from it and I post a lot, play JIGSAW a lot (it helps). I click on my daily chacne and my aquarium ;D I now have 61, 509 G from 1 or two months ago.

I play jigsaw and post a lot and you could also play the market it takes awhile but over time your gold goes up..I tend to get about 1,000 a day or so.
