The older man listened quietly, giving only a nod that would go unnoticed. Without further word, he exited the room, leaving the two to their own devices.
The words that fell from Scyeth's lips were the last straw. RuiZhi shifted and wrapped himself around the Aussie, in every sense of the term: he knees, on either side of the blonde youth; his arms, wrapped affectionately around the other's slumped shoulders. "Me too," he murmured softly against Scyeth's elongated ear, kissing the lobe shyly. He nestled snuggly against his boyfriend, fingers lacing up and through the other's short cropped locks. "I'm here, if you need anything, Scyeth...just a hug, a walk to the mall, anything," he said quietly.
I'm here for you. They were in this together, weren't they? Even if it wasn't his own father, even if their races were not one in the same, they'd get through it. Together. Because that was what RuiZhi promised, and because that was what he sincerely hoped for from the bottom of his heart.

Scyeth gave a great, shuddering sigh, content to be still and be held. His eyes slid shut and the youth slowly drifted back against RuiZhi, focusing on breathing. In. Out. In. Out. Don't cry. Don't cry. Don't cry. The Aussie shuddered again and shook himself all over, rubbing his eyes to keep the tears from falling.
He was glad RuiZhi was here. He was. Without his roommate, he'd be all by himself. Completely all by himself. Nothing keeping him from returning home to rot in the lonely abyss of the Australian Outback. Scyeth shifted and twisted, nuzzling RuiZhi's neck before finally having words again.
"...let's go down to the beach."
Scyeth always liked the beach.
