Tryst turned towards the door when she heard it open, wrapping her tail around herself when she saw it was an older woman, not a child. She waited silently, listening as the woman spoke to them, calling herself Vivian, talking to them about how they weren't sick, but they might be sick, and so on and so forth.
Shivering, Tryst slid back under the covers, poking her face out of them as she had before. "When can we go home?" She asked, her voice soft in the room, but hopefully still loud enough to be heard. She wanted Emmy and Raichu. Now.

Reese slowly removed his hands from his ears, where his palms had landed shortly after the little girl in pink had arrived, to listen to the woman who spoke to them. And what she said made him mad. If they could get sick, how come other kids couldn't get sick too? He knew for a fact there were many, many more D-Corp kids out there...why weren't they here?
"What about everyone elthe?" he asked suddenly, brows furrowed in a glare. "Where are the other kidth? How come they're not here?" He wanted Z. Z was tough and awesome...she would know what to do in order to get out here and go home.

Kale had been quietly listening to the others, sitting on the floor cross legged. He watched as a few others came in, just as confused and unhappy about all of this as the rest of them. He sighed, and looked up at the older lady as she spoke to them. He blinked hard when it seemed like the room started to tilt and he realized he was still sitting up.
He slowly got to his feet, stumbling a little as he made his way over to the lady, tugging on her clothes. "I don't..." was about all the boy could get out before his eyes started to roll to the back of his head as his slim body started to crumple to the floor.

Vivian turned her attention to the small snake girl who was starting to not look quite the best... "I'm afraid I can't give you an exact date, dearie. But as soon as everyone's better, you can go home..." Then another child was asking a question and the woman looked at him. "Some are in other rooms."
The woman's fears escalated as one of the children came over to her and promptly collapsed. Frantic, but trying to conceal her fear for the children around her, she waved over some techs while checking Kale's temperature and pulse as best she could without equipment.
"This one needs to be taken over to critical care..." She whispered to the techs, who rushed to get a stretcher for the boy. Vivian glanced around at the other children. How many more in this room were sick?
Several minutes later, she had her answer and was trying to calmly get Reese, Tryst, and Kale out of the quarantine room and to their own rooms. They needed to find out what was behind all of this and FAST.

Tryst listened to the woman speaking, closing her eyes only for a moment, just a moment. Opening them again, her vision started turning black and white, a ringing sound piercing her head.
A small groan came from the little girl's throat as her body lost control, slowly tipping over and falling off the bed with a muffled thud, tangled in the bedsheets. She was staring blank eyed, her forehead burning up as she lost consciousness, her tail still on the bed.

Reese opened his mouth to once again protest being taken away from his father and Wilbur...but it was like a domino effect, and as Tryst and Kale succumbed to the disease, so did the seahorse.
His arm caught on one of the handles from his wheelchair, letting him watch through watery eyes as the snake girl and big giraffe boy where carted away. It was almost lucky that he was in a wheelchair already...made getting him out of there a lot easier.

Kliken had fallen into absolute silence, his eyes looking around the room in a rather shocked manner. One moment there was a gathering of children most of which were talking about how they didn't feel sick at all, how everything was fine... and then they started to collapse. It made him shiver all over, it were as if the sickness heard them boasting and punished them for it... The little leech boy turned to look at the only one remaining in the room with him, the little girl who looked like Cassi.
He took a step back leaning against one of the beds in the room. The silence that filled the place was uncomfortable and it was starting to feel rather cold in the place, lonely too. He lifted his hands up to his face when he realized that tears were trickling from his eyes. He scrubbed at them, trying to dry them against his sleeve. The more he tried at drying them up the worse that they got until he finally gave into them. Kliken leaned forward so that his arms were resting on his lap and his face against his arms as he started to shake with silent sobs.
Everyone was getting sick... what was going to happen to them? To Reese, to the nice giraffe boy, and the pretty snake girl...? What was going to happen to the puppy girl and to him? The more he thought on it the more he wished he could think of anything else but after seeing the three other children collapse he couldn't get his thoughts anywhere else. About how he didn't want to be here anymore, that he wanted his Mom, he wanted to leave before he got sick too.

Kate kicked out towards the new woman as she entered the room, legs hitting nothing but air. She sniffled even more as the woman chattered on about nothing. Wrapped up in her own woe, the girl tuned everything out. Until the door opened to admit techs. Frantically the small child tried to weave in and out of the techs, wheelchairs and beds, trying to force her way through the horrid doors that had admitted her into this place.
At every step, techs blocked her moves. After several aborted attempts the girl stopped trying and stood back. Child after child was dragged out of the room. Some conscious, some flopping like dolls. Eventually the room was emptied out of techs, sick kids, and that new lady.
Terror sat like a cold lump in her stomach, quelling the rage, the screams and the tears. The puppy scurried over to the oldest child in the room and threw her arms around him, burying her face wherever it reached.

Kliken was broken out of his sobs when the small form that belonged to the chihuahua girl suddenly collided with his. He blinked in surprised and then wrapped his arms around the girl tightly, snuggling her close. He gave a sniffling sound, realizing that since he was older he really needed to try to be strong. It was hard, his entire form was shaking and he couldn't keep the tears from falling from his eyes as he held her close.
The leech wasn't sure what he could say, what he should say. He wanted to assure her, to tell her it would all be alright but... after what he'd seen he knew it would be a lie to say that. Instead he just held onto Kate and hid his face against her hair.

Once her brothers had been taken away from her and their dad and the men in the coats started to try and take Deidre away the little girl took off. Despite her father calling after her she did not want to go with these creepy men and have to leave all of her dolls behind!
Deidre was trying to make it to the front of the building so that she could get back to their mini van, however the girls attempts were foiled as the older much longer legged techs tracked her down one finally catching her after tripping over each other.
Deidre was brought to the quarantine area even though she managed to kick one of the techs in the eyes as he carried her there. They shoved the riled up toddler into the room with the other two kids left. She crossed her arms unsatisfied before casting the other two in the room a glance.

Kliken glanced the way of the new comer from where he was sitting with Kate but didn't lift his head. It would seem the stress of seeing the others around him fall victim to the sickness was catching up with him. He felt rather sleepy all of a sudden and a bit warm as well, he had been drifting in and out of sleep when the new girl had been brought in.
He blinked his blue eyes a could times as he watched her before his eyes sank half closed again. She seemed like she was as unhappy as anyone else to be here, he would think more on it later when he could think more clearly, might even say 'hi' after he woke up from his nap.

It hit suddenly. One moment she was drowsing against Kliken, tuckered out from her hysterics earlier, the next pain hit. For a moment the illness swamped her, heat and pain. In the next her body suddenly contracted every muscle. The tiny body convulsed against Kliken and a warm wetness began to spread through her pants.
The convulsion only lasted a few seconds. Blearily Kate tried to open her eyes and get back up. They were so heavy and things just weren't working right. The floor remained right where it was. A pathetic half-whimper escaped from her suddenly heavy body, too out of it to really make much sense yet.

There was only one child who had escaped the virus. She was lucky she didn't have to go through the complications all the others had.
Even though she was completely conscious there were still few words exchanged as the doctor gave her the vaccine. She had not gotten the virus, and with this, she never would.
