At Loveless' 'I'll-do-whatever-you-do-and-be-happy-about-it' declaration, Antony could only roll his eyes in mock chagrin. "Damnit, if you were intending on making this so very accomodating for me, you could have said so a long time ago and saved us both...whatever it is that we suffered in the meantime. Freedom. Liberty. The ability to play the field. Terrible, horrible things like that. I mean, if I'd known you were going to be this un-bitchy, I'd have asked you to be my mate the second I met you!"
He was clearly teasing now, knowing as they both did that had he done that, even their liberal-minded fathers would have taken issue (what with her being a foal at the time and all). Still, for a moment he sobered up, nuzzling her mane thoughtfully as he commented, "Though you know, I don't know if I'd want to undo the bad times even if I had the chance. You were an unpleasant b***h of a mare, but having overcome that obstacle has really only been for the better, don't you think?"
Some stallions, upon taking a mate, might refrain from dredging up past unpleasantness. Others might simply avoid calling their new mate 'a b***h', in all tenses. Tact had never been Tony's strong suit, though, and it didn't look like he was at all inclined to start practicing it now. If he was even capable of doing such a thing.
But if Loveless didn't understand that facet of his nature by now, she was never going to, so there was really no point in sweating the small stuff. Antony certainly wasn't!
Breaking the serious tone once again, Antony laughed and licked Loveless' cheek. "Lessy, I took the pledge subconsciously the moment I learned I was going to be a father. I know how things worked for my father, but somehow, I just couldn't see myself just moving on like that. And honestly, I haven't even been tempted." Smiling as he said that, Antony snugged Loveless tightly against his side, her slightly shorter frame fitting perfectly beneath his wing. "You and I are just too perfect, bickering and snarky as we sometimes are. But ANYWAY, since you seem so bound and determined to be forward-looking and practical in spite of my best attempts to wax romantic and silly..." Here, he did his best to look petulant, but gave up in the face of his overwhelming desire to grin. "Only plans I had for the day were to wander hither, then maybe a bit of wandering yon, following a random amble and perhaps some meandering. But if you've got any better ideas, I'm listening."

She instantly laughed at his comment and enjoyed the truthful humor in his words. She was difficult, but whatever. Antony was clearly used to it at this point in time. "Well, you were tough for overcoming everything. That's why I am giving you the credit! Your like a warrior of sorts, taming such a horrible shrew." Still, if Antony hadn't stuck with her, who knew where she could be...
She WAS surprised to hear that he never felt any need to run to other mares, or to experiment like some in his family did. That was where her initial anxiety had come from, but now she seriously had nothing to worry about. She and Antony were clearly much different then their fathers, but it was a nice difference. They were unique, and that was ok. Maybe that was why she and Antony meshed so well, and they really were meant to be with each other all along.
Ah well, she really hated thinking through all of the romantics like Antony did. It so wasn't her thing.
"Well, its not that I had any extravagant plans." she then said, while moving away from him in a slow manner and allowing her tail to slide slowly across his face and to his chin. "But I was just thinking about how long its been since we've been together alone, so if you are up for that sort of thing." She lowered her eyes and smiled comfortably. The day was rather romantic and she assumed Antony was in the mood himself.

"Yes, that's it. Never let it be said that I am not tough and a true model of kalona grit and ferocity and tenacity and all that jazz. Minus the bitter, vicious, surly, homicidal tendencies, naturally." Really, Antony liked the sound of that; him being the valiant warrior that vanquished the evil demon of Loveless' delusions and past self. Or would he be more of an exorcism than a vanquishing?
Ah well, the specifics were moot. The devil was in the details, and he'd dealt with enough devils thus far in his life to never want to think of such things EVER again. Especially not when Loveless was offering such a highly preferable alternative.
Grinning, he caught her tail with his wing, drawing it back to his mouth to give it the lightest of lovebites. "When it comes to you, Lessy, I'm always up for that sort of thing. Once can never be enough with a mare such as yourself, though just so you know..." As he spoke, Antony released Loveless' tail to snug her close, gently running his nose along her neck as he whispered in his teasing way, "this sort of thing might result in pregnancy. Are you willing to accept that responsibility, being a mother?"

"My valient Antony." she then added, while tugging her wings comfortably on her back and wiggling at his movement towards her tail. He was definitely knightly, even when he was cracking jokes towards her or adding sarcasm to a situation. But even still, he was very honorable as a stallion so the comparison definitely made sense. Plus it also sounded neat.
Though Loveless didn't see herself as a princess AT ALL, but it was a silly thought in her mind anyways. Antony saving his princess... though she rather preferred her saving someone else!
At his whispered fact, Loveless could only hum a bit before adding a light shrug. "Of course, if we are lucky enough to have this family grow then so be it. But I'd rather have fun while we can and deal with the circumstances when they happen. It took me long enough the first time to have children, so who knows how nature will treat me this time around." she then moved herself in front of him and rubbed his neck gently. "That is if your willing to be a father again yourself. Maybe I am being the selfish one here, but you have a say too of course! I don't want to pressure you at all." And that was true, she'd never want to force Antony in any way since he'd never done that to her.

At Loveless' calm, pragmatic, and...well, MATERNAL response to his teasing question, Antony could only laugh. Reaching forward with his wings to hold her face forhead to forhead with his own, he smiled and said, "I absolutely, positively love you, Loveless; and I don't know what your parents were thinking when they gave you that name, but you're never going to hear it from my lips ever again. Love-LESS you aren't, and love-less you'll never be again, not while I've still got breath."
And he meant it, too, his eyes shining happily. For once, he didn't have a wisecrack to make, no pun, no idle tormenting of the linguistic sort. Right now, all that mattered was the two of them, and the fact that they'd come so far. The mare who had so agonized over the possibility of pregnancy, who he'd had to coax and cajole into their one single little tryst, was telling him that she didn't care, that she would consider herself lucky to be with child again. With HIS child. Or children. Whichever.
They would have to tell their children about this, on that note, to say nothing of their fathers, friends, siblings...hell, Antony would be totally fine taking a grand tour of the landscape, intoducing his mate Lessy to every Soquili they met. He would cheerfully shout it from the tallest tree in the forest, then procede to exclaim it from the tallest mountain and the deepest depths of the lake...if he could swim, breathe underwater, and have the sound actually carry.
But that could all wait, at least for the moment. Without even deigning to comment on him being 'pressured' (and inwardly scoffing at the idea), Antony smiled and nuzzled Loveless' nose. "But in on the topic of Love, Parenthood, and Breath, I think you and I ar entitled to an interlude that is WAY overdue."

Her mother was thinking something alright when she named her dark daughter, but Loveless wasn't worrying about that at this moment. For now she could just shake happily, and agree with Antony's romantic words. "I love you so much.. even if I may not understand how deep love is all that much, that must be what I'm feeling for you everyday." And finally, it felt good to just admit it and stop brushing it off. Why should she fear what she may not of understood?
But still, she was complex in her own way and luckily Antony was always there to open her up. Her name had always felt like such a curse, restraining her from an immense happiness that almost everyone else found. But Antony had released the curse, and her name meant nothing now. And that was the best part of all.
"Overdue.. I'd have to agree my dear. Well let's find a more comfortable and private area, shall we?" Especially now since she had admitted to such feelings... she couldn't help herself now. She and Antony had reached and entirely new level and Loveless was giddy in excitement. She could tell Antony was just as happy himself, so a day together would be the perfect cure to such a moment.
