"I wonder..." A candy-cane coloured Beta looked around rather urgently, a tinge of red spreading across her porcelain cheeks. Scarf swaying delicately in the gentle current, Lily swam hesitantly forward, her eyes still darting around every so often.
"Is...Romeo here...?" She asked quietly to herself, her fins brushing against the young seaweed that dotted the sand. This new lake had opened so many opportunities to her; it wasn't often she was able to meet someone without being watched by her parents, let alone meet the fish she loved. Taking the opportunity to leave as soon as Shiro was asleep, she found herself here, wandering about absently, the only question being if Romeo himself was present, as well.

Romeo looked at the two mates, a smile forming itself on his mouth. Ah... young love. He shook his head. No, no, he sounded like his father now. That was what his father always said. "Ah, young love." He shook his head again. No... he couldn't be turning into his father, could he?
He groaned, and looked around again, to see a a red and white Beta swim around. Being a little far away from her, he couldn't see whether or not it was Lily. But as he swam, silently, closer, he felt his heart jump into his throat. He had to swallow to make it go back to where it was.
"LILY!" he screamed happily, running forward and giving her one mighty kiss.
Desdemona had meanwhile awoken, just to find two other Betas to be around. As she saw Romeo, with a pretty Beta, she was shocked; was that his girlfriend? She had actually THOUGHT it had been some grumpy old grandma. After all, it WAS her brother's son, and what was her brother? An ol' grumpy man, at least in her eyes. But then, she longed after becoming a mother. But she wouldn't be grumpy... not at all. She shook her head, and then hid behind some seaweed to spy on the two. She had to report to her brother, what was going on, after all. If they at all planned to get children or not. She knew Mercu was eager to become a grandfather.
"Grandpa Sir Pumpkin", she giggled to herself, "And Grandma Madam Pumpkin. What a fitting pair, they are. And of course, Sir Pumpkin Junior and Madam Pumpkin Junior. I wonder if Larissa has gotten children yet?"

Orophin had swam up to the little undersea area, his young heart aching for a companion.
He nestled himself amongst a tangled mess of seaweed, looking on in timid curiousity as he watched the other Beta swim about fin-in-fin with one another, each of them head-over-heels for the other.
He remained silent as he observed the other couples, having never been in this part of the lake. In fact, the long-haired Beta had never been too far from home, and kept mainly to himself as he grew.

Three Tailed Fox Orophin had swam up to the little undersea area, his young heart aching for a companion.
He nestled himself amongst a tangled mess of seaweed, looking on in timid curiousity as he watched the other Beta swim about fin-in-fin with one another, each of them head-over-heels for the other.
He remained silent as he observed the other couples, having never been in this part of the lake. In fact, the long-haired Beta had never been too far from home, and kept mainly to himself as he grew. The young female floated in the water, looking around curiously. Spotting the young male, Molly swam over and touched his backfin softly. "Hello there, young one. What's your name?" She questioned. (( Molly whee ))

Swimming around boredly, the young NM beta floated upside-down. How boring this was. She floated right-side up again and glanced around. Kasumi didn't really know anyone there, so why was she there in the first place? She sighed and started playing with her torn scarf.

Shadow sways in the water as if looking for someone. He shakes his beautifull tail making his it move like a sash on a windy day. He blinks his eyes a bit and wonders why he was around here. His mind was lost as he was dreaming, he didn't want to be alone anymore, he wanted someone to be there with him. He wanted someone to, love. The beta sighs at the thought.

She floated upside down again, gazing around, then went back to floating right side up once more. She was so bored she could hardly stand it, so she started spinning in circles. She stopped mid-circle when she spotted Shadow. She tilted her head a bit, wondering if she should talk to him. She decided she should; she at least knew this beta and he wasn't a complete stranger. Her fins twitched a bit and she swam over behind him, and she grabbed his tail. "Nyah."

He quickly turns around and weakly smiled at his friend. "Kasumi...." He was still swaying around but let her hold his tail. Her touch was as soft a flowers petal and she was as bright as a spring sunrise. He was comforted by her, making him weakly smile again.

She lifted an eyebrow, wondering what on earth was wrong with him. "..are you ok?" She asked, sounding kind of concerned. "Maybe you should rest for a bit.." She said, grabbing his fin gently and pulled him down to the shallow bottom, then gently pushed him down on the soft seaweed. She didn't really enjoy interacting with others very much, but he was about the only beta under the whole dock who she knew and felt comfortable talking to. Then again, she didn't really know many others outside of her family.

He smiles a bit again. "Don't worry, I'm fine." He shifts a bit on the seaweed and looks up at her. He starts to blush and he looks away. "Sorry..." He was too embarassed.

She lifted a brow and settled herself down next to him, quite perplexed and still a tad concerned from his light-headed behavior. "Sorry? For what?" She inquired, prodding his side with her fin.

He thinks for awhile. "Well, for making you feel unconfortable?" He sighs and shifts again to face her. He holds her find and looks into her eyes. Is she the one, I think she is... "I, I think I love you..."

She looked at him, eyes wide, as her cheeks turned a very noticable shade of red. "I... I...." She stuttered, not knowing what to say in return. I don't like him that way! Wait... Do I? Well... She glanced around, very unsure of what to say in return, as no one had ever told this to her before. She looked back at his kind face and thought more. She became frustrated, and, unable to think of the right words, kissed him and moved next to him, resting her head above his fin, blushing more than before.

He kisses her forehead and smiles. "I always thought I was going to be alone. All the other betas are so strange. But I knew you where different. You are special." He looked straight up into the water, wondering what her next responce was going to be and how would she react. He turns around so he was facing her and put his other fin around her as if protecting her. He looks at her and softly smiles at her.

Her cheeks turned ten more shades of red and she glanced downwards, still with no idea of what to say. Finally regaining her original stature, she smiled at him gently, her cheeks almost back to their original color. "You're a lot nicer than most nitemare betas are; you're special, too," she stated and kissed his cheek, then took the end of his scarf between her fins and started playing with it as she rested her head on his side.
