Confusion settled over Paki's body and he turned back to her in question. Well almost in question. An eyebrow lifted behind the curtain of his mane and the large male wrinkled his nose.

"He and I met up when I was wandering around. Bodaway lead me here once we bumped into Khepri. Both of them lead me to the Pridelands to find Moyo and then left. I used to call Bodaway 'Dad' sometimes even." Paki laughed at the memory of how Bodaway had once reacted to having the young cub calling him that.

Then with the seashells on his tail to keep Paki occupied and following him when he got tired. Those had been an easy way to find him.

"It's been a while since I've seen him, but Bodaway was a cool lion. He was a little lost like me, so we fit together perfectly." At this he grinned again, almost cheesy.

She actually stopped at the 'haven't seen him' part of what Paki said. He hadn't seen Bodaway in a while...? Shaking the confusion away, she nudged him. "Maybe we'll run into him again in the Pridelands when we find Moyo!" She smiled, even though she knew he couldn't see it. "I can make sure you don't fall in a filled river, or any more dry ones!"

Shuddering his large shoulders at the very thought of water, Paki nodded his shaggy head to Mut. A guide was something he'd come to rely on in the past few years, one of these days he would have to try and get along without one... at least for once. It would be a change wouldn't it?

"I'd appreciate that as I don't like water. And if I bumped into Bodaway again that would be even more fun." Paki admitted after a moment and smiled at her, sensing a smile in her voice for some odd reason. "The save from the tumbles would also be appreciated, though I'll try to help you out by being careful."

Paki's chuckle rang out through the ravine for a moment, his deep voice making it reverberate.

Letting out a purr at the laugh, Mut couldn't help shivering. It was a nice sound, one that made her smile, made her feel so happy. Happy in a way she hadn't felt in a while. Not since Ushukuru ran off when he found out about their cubs...

Shaking her coat out, she went bounding to the side of the ravine. "Come on, there's an easy way out of here this way! Just follow the sound of my bracelets and necklace!" It was a simple solution she'd figured out from seeing the shells Bodaway wore. She had wondered why he had them. Now she knew. If Paki was following him around... And Bodaway was old enough to know how to be silent... He needed a way for a blind cub to keep up with him and not lose him.

The purr that Mut gave off made Paki smile. It was nice to hear another purr, it reminded him of one that Khepri had made when he'd been sleeping at night. The sound had let him fall asleep, maybe that was what the large lioness had intended at the time, or else she was just happy to be around others. He would never know as he would never see her again.

Pricking his chocolate ears forward at her words, Paki trotted after at a slower pace, mindful of rocks that he normally would have soared over. When climbing he was more careful than when he was simply walking or running on level surface. It would be ill to fall after all, something he didn't intend upon repeating more than he needed to.

It was easy to follow after her, the memories of following Bodaway and Khepri across the savannah flooded back into his sharp mind and the lion smiled as he followed Mut back out to the savannah once more. She was a pleasant lioness, hopefully they could be friends in the future.

On level ground again, Mut stretched out. Looking back at Paki, she smiled. "This way, Paki!" She paused as she moved, thumping a log. Then, without much hesitation, she began to trot along, jewelery jangling in the air. Now and then, she'd stop, making sure he was keeping up. It wasn't that far a trip to the Pridelands, after all. They could afford to stop now and then. In one pause, she spotted a cluster of hares watching her, one a very distinctive solid green, another solid white, and the rest white, green, brown, and variously marked.

Normally Paki would have stopped and chased after one of the hares, dinner was always a thing to find when one found it on the savannah. It was sitting before him almost like a present from the gods for him to snack on, but he was too intent upon finding his sister and following the kind lioness before him that he didn't even give it a second thought.

Turning his head to face Mut, Paki took a rolling jog after her and swished his mocha colored tail out behind him, the bangles and chains and beads all across his body rattled with the music of his steps, mismatched as the music was.

It almost seemed as if Mut were leading him towards his future on the savannah, maybe to the pridelands or maybe to somewhere else. The sentiment made him smile and trot faster after her.
