i have lost nearly all respect for metallica.
and Dave Mustain is a Born-Again-Christian. being a religious person, i can smile at that.

NO CONTEST! Mustaine is a musican genus. Any one of their CD's can beat the crap out of any Metallica album. Megadeth's guitar is much harder then metallica, not to mention every single one of their songs is a work of art. Metallica songs all seem to run together for me. Especially on the black album. That album is OK its not THAT great.

Xaiados as of late...i'd have to say they are about even....back in the early 90's Metallica reigned supreme. But Due to the whole Napster controversy, along with the band's new Anti Alcohol policy, they've gotten a bit off the metal track. Mustaine, on the other hand, has kept consistant with his music over the past "20 years". And from what i hear, he is retiring this year, letting the new generation of metal come to the forefront, at least Mustaine is going out "on top" per-se. i totally agree but i just ignore all this and, i always say that metallica died and i only listen the first album forme metallica are death they were god they can resurect but it is too difficult

Megadeth is the best! Metallica died a long time ago and St. Anger cemented that. Megadeth still lives ans is one of Heavy/Thrash Metal's biggest players. Dont hate the player, Hate Mustaine! scream scream

Lets face it, in a personality contest no one wins, both bands have some real assholes in them......... i wouldn't argue there........
But for me although both bands are ******** awesome id say out of consistency im gonna have to say Megadeth, if i compare both bands best albums (in my opinion) it would be ride the lightning and kill 'em all vs. Countdown to extinction and rust in peace, and although songs like fade to black, whiplash and seek and destroy are awesome, they jsut dont compare to holy wars, symphony of destruction and sweating bullets........
I think its probably the guitarwork of Dave and Marty together that gets me, its so awesome.........
Althoguh i will say this, if metallica hadn't have produced 2 reallly poor (and 1 average, Re-Load wasn't terrible) album i may be talking different now.........

I love Metallica but after hearing all of St.Anger, I also sort of lost my faith in their music...I still listen to their old stuff though.
so far I think Megadeth is the best.^_^

Metallica only because they were the first band i've ever heard. Although I'm extremely glade i haven't heard any of their new stuff....but when i was 4 i first heard master of puppets (first song i ever heard) and since then i've loved metallica.
