Gulzar carefully took Geraldine from Celine and cradled her gently, nuzzling her gently with his nose, a soft smile on his face. He'd done so many things that were unforgivable in the past and the last straw had been orphaning some children, but he'd repented and come to love raising children. Eight children of his own by adoption, a nephew, a mate, and now, a granddaughter by adoption. When he'd left the army, there had only been self-disgust and nothing to live for, but now, he had a growing family to live for, to care for, and to love with all his heart.

Syem peeked out when he was offered a hug, looking in all different direction as though something was going to come out of nowhere and attack him. Finally, assured that all was safe, he sneaked forward and hugged whatever kind of relation Dionysus was to him, managing to accidentally drape his blanket over the purple 'taur's head. He blinked at the sudden darkness before giggling and pulling himself back, wrapping his blanket around him like a cloak, thinking over Dionysus' suggestion. "Umm... I dun'no. They're tho much bigger than uth!!" He cowered under his blanket. "What if I get thepped on?"

Dionysus held his new brother. "I won't wet anyone step one you. They'we biggew than me, too!"

Mia looked outside, spotted Celine, and tried to decide what to do. She knew that the cervi didn't like her too much. She waved her hand in a greeting, figuring it would be worth a chance in annoying Celine if it meant the possibility they could atleast get along better. "Allo" she smiled a little.

Celine smiled at Mia. "Hello!" she said, and trotted over to great her new mother, now that Geraldine was safely being taken care of by Gulzar.
Geraldine hardly noticed when Celine left. Instead, she squeaked in delight as Gulzar bent his head and grabbed a clump of his hair and gave it a good solid tug, squeaking and squirming around happily all the while.

Mia's smile widened in relief. It looked like Celine wasn't mad at her anymore. "How might you be today, Celine?" her voice was pleasant, and her happyness was showing.

"I'm doing all right," Celine said shyly. Not quite sure what to say, she hesitated, then blurted out, "I have a daughter now." She looked down at her hands, then back up, not quite sure how to act around her new mother.

"That's good news" Mia's smile widened "more family is always welcome." She thought for a moment. "What's her name?" she was trying to think of something to start a conversation, to get to know Celine better.

Gulzar winced when little Geraldine pulled his hair. "Strong grip, little one," he said weakly, trying to very gently get his hair out of her reach without making her cry.

Celine smiled. "Geraldine. Would you like to meet her?" She walked back over to Gulzar, where Geraldine had let go of her grip on Gulzar's hair in favor of his thumb. "She likes you," she said happily, leaning over to get a better look at her daughter. Geraldine gurgled happily, and kicked about in the blanket with her legs.

Mia followed her adopted daughter to her granddaughter. She gave a gentle smile to the infant. "'Allo Geraldine," She looked at Celine, "She's lovely," Mia's smile widened, "just like her new mother."

Gulzar smiled and would have hugged his daughter and mate if he'd had hands free. "Of course she likes me, Celine. After all, I did a good job of raising you and your brother, didn't I? And she is lovely, like her mother." He gently kissed Celine on the forehead and his mate on the lips, a soft smile on his face.

Celine blushed at the compliments, and looked down at Geraldine, her daughter. And for that one shining moment, she forgot just how stressed out she was about this whole "motherhood" thing, and just admired her daughter. She reached out a hand and Geraldine immediately wrapped a hand around her finger; how small and delicate she was! So cute and pudgey... "You did a wonderful job, dad," she said, and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Of course," said Celine, and she gently took Geraldine from her father's grasp. Geraldine reached out to Mia, however, and Celine smiled. "I guess she wants to meet you too," she said. "Would you like to hold her?"
