Quote: No, you have the privilege of marrying a person you're in love with. Gay people don't have that, and I think that they should. What if I love my sister? Or my mother? If I'm in love with them, under your explanation of my rights, I should be allowed to marry them. Is that correct?

But actually, yeah. If you love your mom or sister, and you and your mom/sister are both okay with it, then go for it. Personally, I would find it kind of gross, but my beliefs shouldn't interfere with what you're allowed to do as long as you're not hurting anyone.

As long as there's consent on their end, there's no logical reason why you shouldn't. You shouldn't, of course, be allowed to have kids with them, as it damages the kids.
But I challenge you to find one reason incest hurts anyone when it doesn't produce children (not that I don't find it gross).

Travis Celendel You misunderstood me. I never said anything about divorce. I said marriage rates were dropping. As for who, try all of Scandinavia. As for who cares, I do. My wife does. All of my friends do. As for the rights of gay people, they have the same rights I do. They can marry anybody of the opposite sex that they want to... except their siblings and parents. Beyond that, why should I care?
That's got to be one of the saddest attempts at a reason to oppose gay marriage. Did you even think this one through?
-Correlation does not equal causation -Dropping marriage rates is not a problem, it causes no problems, it's simply that you're a prude as is much of America -You need to stop caring so much about other people's marriages. They don't affect you. Mind your own business. -Saying that gays have the same rights as you do because they can marry the opposite sex is utter bull. That's akin to saying that everyone has to be Christian, non-Christians have the same rights as everyone else to be Christian but nothing else! It's a state mandated way of life. -When same-sex marriage harms no one and your best excuse is that it might make marriage rates drop, it's kind of easy to tell that you're covering up homophobia/hate. That's the kind of thing it takes to deny an entire group the right to marry the person they love. I really, really, really hope you get your marriage ripped apart by the government, so you can know how they feel.

I know that this was posted earlier last year but the bill was passed but California vetoed it in March.
