Malhyanth walks in, his hold clasped tightly around a small figure with a very unsure trot of four, rather then two, hooves. He smiles at his charge, who looks slightly freaked out by the large new place they had come to today.
"Its fine Lance. These are friends! Go on, go and introduce yourself. I'll be sat right over here."
The little knight looked slightly sad up at his father, but a determined glint shone from those large orange eyes and he nodded his head with a quick jerk, puffing out his little chest and stamping a hind hoof as he entered the fray, looking at the other hytes with trepidation.

My pleasure. Amara is quite taken with Ciaran as it is. xd
She was sketching something in her book as she often did when she was by herself, the tip of her tongue poking out from between her lips, brows furrowed with dainty concentration. Amara was pulled out of her reverie by the sound of hooves, something she was quite familiar with; as her misty beige eyes lifted beneath thick lashes, however, she found it to be someone new!
The Spiraffe closed her book and stood, all smiles for the adorable Centaur. "Hello," she greeted the white male kindly, extending a delicate hand. "I'm Amara. Are you related to Ciaran?"
She's also a bit straight forward. sweatdrop Blame Gyasi for that. XD

Lance was looking around at the spacious lobby he had been brought to, not noticing the strange mixture of Springbok and Giraffe till he nearly tripped over his own hooves to stop before her. Her hand was stuck into his face and her words tumbled forth too quickly for Lance to keep up with at first. His face was all but blank for the initial uptake of information, then he smiled slightly and bowed is top half carefully at the hips that joined human half to horse. He took her hand and kissed it gently, more a brush of lip on knuckle and stepped back.
"I am... We were formed together. Not brothers by blood, but brothers in arms. I have not been able to see my black knight in a good many days, father being so busy and all..." Lance cast a glance back over his shoulder to the strange raptor-esque creature he called father, a familial smile gracing his calm face. He looked back at the older Hyte and tilted his head slighlty in curiosity. "Forgive me, lady, I am rude. My name is Lance, short for Lancelot. You know my Ciaran?"

To say Amara was caught off guard was an understatement, her gaze wide and appraising as the White Knight spoke with eloquence. "Very nice to meet you, Lance," she replied kindly, flattered by his greeting, "and yes, Ciaran is--" The Spiraffe paused, deciding that saying he was 'my Knight' might not go over well, taking the topic in a different direction. "--delightful company. He'll be here soon."
She could see the similarities between the two just as certain as she could see the differences; she hoped when the dark Centaur did join them, that he would be happy to see his lighter counterpart. "Can I get you anything to eat or drink?" she inquired, thinking of getting an apple ready for the absent Knight.
Oh he's SO cute. *w*

Lance smiled at the mention of his black knight, and the prospect of seeing him again soon had him fighting to restrain his excited fidgeting. He had already decided he liked this strange Hyte before him, but he had also decided that he needed to find out what kind of animal she had once been. He swallowed slowly and plucked up his courage.
"Excuse my rudeness, but may I ask your DNA? You have the pretty markings of the Giraffes I've seen in my picture books, but there is something more to you... I cannot place my finger on it..." He hoped he wasn't being overly rude, and blushed a little in her presence, the bloom deepening when she offered him food. "My father fed me before we came, so I am perfectly full, but a glass of water would be most appriciated, my lady."

She gave a gentle laugh at the question, shaking her head with a warm smile. "Not rude at all! No harm in asking, Lance." Amara patted her patch-marked leg, "You're right. One of my parents was conceived through giraffe DNA." Flicking her slightly longer tail and indicating her horns, she continued fondly, "The other a Springbok. The Staff here like to call my brothers and I 'Spiraffes.'" The femme was by no means upset by the name, giggling even as she said it.
"Water it is, gallant Knight," she quipped happily, "I'll be right back~!" She turned and trotted towards the kitchen, a happy bounce in her stride. A few minutes later, she returned with a glass of water in one hand and a plate of cut fruit in the other. Offering the former, she smiled widely, "Here you are, Sir Lance."

Lance smiled and silently took in the information about Amara, processing for writing into his diary later. He liked the strange hybrid Hyte... the Spiraffe. She was sweet enough, and she seemed to know and greatly like Ciaran. He could see that from her expression when she spoke of him. He noted her return by the clatter of hooves, and saw she had fruit cut on a plate with her. His eyes widened a little at the sight of it, but he refrained from helping himself as he followed her, as he knew he would spoil his dinner should he start munching on it. He had to admit, he was a bit of an apple and strawberry fiend. Perhaps it was his horse DNA that drew him to the vegatarian way of life.
Trotting behind Amara, he continued to look around the large lobby as he carefully sipped his water. "Thank you Amara! So... Is this home for you, or like me, do you have an outside home?" Again, he looked to his father, conversing with other adults by the main doors. He wondered how many other Hytes were amoung these walls.

Placing the tray down on a near by table, she plucked a piece of early pear and nibbled on it. "Please feel free to help yourself," she offered, just in case. Her eyes flitted around the room in fondness before resting upon the pale male, shaking her head with a continued warm smile. "No, I was born here," Amara's ears flickered at the sound of the others talking. "It's spacious, lots of room to run and dream."
Outside home...how curious! "I'm glad you're here now," she chuckled softly, "and I can't wait to see the look on Ciaran's face when he catches sight of you."
Hullo Jengal! Thank you very much, Gyasi thanks you as well. XD *FAYSECLING ENIKIL* owo

Lance nearly picked a piece of apple up, but refrained, retracting his hand and smiling apologetically with a little shrug. He took a quick swig of water, setting it down on the table with the tray and looking around for a convenient place to sit. Being half horse had its difficulties, especially when it came to sitting and standing. He needed a big amount of space to spread out, and had to be extremely careful not to knock things over! Positioning himself a little way from the table, he bent his forelegs and then his hind, ending up happily curled in the horse limbs, with his hands resting on his forelegs to prop himself up. He reached out the little distance to grip his water, but ended up with his hand in the fruit, choosing a nice crisp piece of apple, popping into his mouth with a slightly guilty glance to his father, who hadn't noticed.
"I shouldn't really... Father will be upset if I don't eat all my dinner when we go home!" He blushed slightly and turned his attention to the door. "When is he supposed to get here? I've missed him."

The Spiraffe took a careful seat near the Centaur, her own unique legs bent and curled at her sides comfortably. Amara laughed softly, ears swiveling towards her pale companion. "At least it's an apple," she offered encouragingly, "and not something that will be overly filling." Another slice of pear for herself amongst the predominantly apple-ladden plate, and she was content.
"I'm not always sure," Amara admitted softly. She glanced towards the back where the outside was. "I'm not sure what he does, training to be the best Knight he can." Fondly recalling his matter-of-fact tone when describing himself, she chuckled gently, "He tries very hard."

Lance was about to answer Amara when he heard a clatter of claws on the ground and turned to see a bird-esque woman; her wings reminded him of his father, but she was clearly a Hyte, so he simply nodded in response to her question and swallowed his apple slice quickly. He cleared his throat politely and quickly stood, though with a bit of a haphazard flail of arms as his feet wouldn't sort themselves at the same rate his brain was telling them too.
Lance bowed lower then he had to Amara, simply because this woman was much older, and had a serious air to her that Lance immediately respected. "No ma'am, we have not had the pleasure. My father has been busy, and thus I have not met many. I am indeed Lance. May I enquire as to your name?" He slowly looked up from his bow and rubbed his hands on his flanks, should she wish to shake hands, he didn't want to have sweaty palms.

"Lilith!" The teen greeted her father's friend with a shy wave of her hand, all smiles. She noted the two beginning to speak and remained quietly in her seated position, snatching a piece of apple and playfully trossing it at her yawning brother. "Wake up, Ekene, it's near noon!"

Despite himself, Ciaran was most assuredly and definitely not coming out. The troubled little centaur boy heard the once-familiar voice and didn't want to end up disappointing himself, so lurked quietly, listening and shuffling softly, half wanting to be found and half terrified. There was no way it could possibly be who he thought it was, could it?

Amara scoffed softly at her brother's claim, all innocent batting of her eyes and demure smiles. "I'm just doing my sisterly duty of making sure you're awake." The Spiraffe femme shifted her position a little, glancing around with a small bit of worry on her brow, wondering where the dark Knight was.
Looking up to Lilith, she smiled warmly again, indicating the tray on the table. "I don't know if you like fruit, but I have some cut up apples here? I cut a lot for Ciaran, but I'm not sure where he is."
YAY! *luffs Petite here too!*

Either drawn by the talk of Maxwell or simply by dumb luck, Gyasi found himself meandering through the front lobby, peering through his glasses to observe the gathering of Hytes. With a bemused flick of his tail, he made his way towards the group, a book clasped within his hand. "My my, what a sight for sore eyes. How nice to see you, 'lith." The Giraffe Hyte reached out to ruffle Ekene's hair, casting a warm smile to his daughter.
"Hi dad~!" Amara pushed herself up in a wobbly fashion before hugging the much taller Hyte. "Have you met Lance?"
The male looked over to the light Centaur being indicated, inclining his head politely. "I do not believe we have. You must be Ciaran's companion. I'm Gyasi," he extended his free hand, releasing Ekene from his grasp, "it's a pleasure to meet you."

Lance was so overwhelmed, all he could do was sit there, wide eyed and confused, simply nodding or shaking his head in answer to questions directed his way by the mouse-lady and Giraffe-man. He was really going to have to buckle down and learn these names...

Amara's face brightened considerably at the sight of her dark Knight, carefully standing to her hooves. "Ciaran..." She said the Arabian's name softly, but nothing more, moving out of the way so she was not between the two for their reunion. The Spiraffe had the distinct feeling there was more between the two than met the eye.

Lance frowned a little as Amara stood, confused by her sudden movement. When her lips formed the name of his counterpart, his frown deepened; that is until his gaze followed hers and he spotted Ciaran. His face split into a grin, and he near flung himself over onto his side in his haste to stand. Launching himself to a trot to ensure he didn't fall, Lance forged his way forward at a speed, lauching himself at Ciaran and wrapping his arms around the slender shoulders.
Lance was impressed to say the least. His little brother wasn't as little any more, nearly as big as himself. Ciaran was still slimmer, but he was now taller, and his horse-half sleek and shiny. Lance gripped onto him like his life depended on it, and really, it did. These two were supposed to be brothers in arms, but Lance had left for a long time, and Ciaran had made friends without Lance, and Lance knew no one! It worried the white knight that he would not fit in, but he didn't show it, just hugged his black counterpart; the one it felt right to be next to, the one he had been born with.
"I missed you." The words were muffled by Lance's face being buried into Ciaran's neck, pale blond hair covering his face, but he hoped Ciaran heard.

Of course Ciaran heard the voice, so familiar and yet so new at the same time, and his dark slender arms wrapped tightly around Lance, trembling a little, clinging as he turned his head to whuffle into the pale hair with tears in his red eyes. "I missed you too," he said, slightly plaintively, swallowing around a lump in his throat big enough to nearly choke him. "You were gone so long... I didn't know what to do," he whispered, smiling and wanting to weep at the same time. "I thought you'd never come back."
Still, things had gotten better now, he felt -- it was right. Lance was here, so what had he to worry about? Ciaran didn't have to be the only knight, didn't have to hold his head high enough to pretend he could be knight enough for his missing other half.
*dear god I am rambly*

He sits quietly in the corner, watching everyone come and go around the new Hyte. Everyone was so glad to see him, so happy that Ciaran was getting Lance back. And yet, Zane felt a bit of jealousy. There was the Ciaran he'd grown up with, blindly clinging to Lance, but here he, Lance's substitute during his absence was, sitting alone in the corner. He grumbled something about injustice and went back to ignoring the festivities, deciding that it would be a good day to go on a walk. A very long walk. That would span the rest of the afternoon.
sweatdrop He's just being grumpy that he's not getting any attention. Dun worry, Ci-ah. He'll be back.

Amara smiles softly as the two all but mold themselves together, perhaps feeling a dimmer echo of Zaney's more obvious discontent. "Dad...?"
"Come, 'Mara. It's his time now." The giraffe Hyte looks to his daughter with a knowing smile, extending his arm to give her a half hug. "He deserves his happiness."
The female looks a little surprised, uttering an embarrassed laugh. "I know that dad," she chides him lightly, "I just hope he stays that way. He has such a cute smi...smile?" Amara blinks down at the tube rolling around, perplexed.
The older Hyte is used to this sight by now, giving a wide smile. "Ah. Seems we'll have another young one amongst us again." Gyasi leans down to intercept the tube, not enough to stop it but to pat it in passing. "Good day, little one."
*sleeeeeeeeeeeepy* Toooo hot in here, and it's COLD outside, not fair!! DX
