Hakyoku gave an agreeing nod this world was indeed much more peaceful than that of any other world he had heard of. "Yes it is endless and sometimes boring," he agreed "Especially if you live life for a long time."
He flicked his ears back listening to her other question "Yes, I do agree but at the same time I'd rather not have that and yet I cannot live without it." His demon blood was troublesome often yet he wouldn't change himself to live the same way as everyone else.

Setsu stopped her walking then with her ears down and muzzle in a shocked frown. Disappointnemt seemed to bloom in her core and she furrowed her brows to this long ignored fact. "An endless life of boredom." It felt like she was reading the words from a novel, never expecting them to include herself. If anything, she had guessed to die young and in the heart of actions. Not this.
A brow quirked, but she made no motion to reply Hakyoku's words. To not live without it. To not want to live without it? The binding terms sounded so much like her own. To have a blessing of 'abilities' and only have so much aopinion in how you lived your life with them. "In the very least, your family accepts you."

Hakyoku paused at her side had he said something wrong? He looked at her for a moment. 'an endless life of boredom' echoed in his own head he would live for many years past that of a normal kitsu, his life would be long and boring...
"Yes that in itself is a blessing." he agreed "Have you no one that accepts you?" he asked.

She glanced at the other with a quirk to her brow. Was he being sarcastic? A blessing, well yes. But unless his family was all demonic too, did he expect...
Never mind that. Shutting out useless and morbid thoughts, Setsu gave a half-hearted shrug at the other question. "Like I would know. It's not something usually said, now is it?" Clearly she had no one following her, and she had no one to speak of on a casual manner. It left little guess for anything else. "I suppose the answer is no then. There's been no sight or sound to any form of acceptance." Another shrug, before she continued walking.

Hakyoku lowered his ears he must have said something wrong now "Sorry" he muttered quietly.
With a flick of his tails he continued to follow her passing through the woods. "I suppose it isn't usually said now is it." he had to agree. Hakyoku just remained silent .

The reaction was unexpected, and Setsu actually faultered in her step, turning to look at the other with a lost expression. Stunned. "Sorry? And to what are you apologizing about?" Even her voice had lost it's stern tone in replacement of confusion.
The kitsu filtered through her past actions, trying to figure out what was going on. "No. At least not with the individuals I spent my time with. We were either allies or foes, that was all to consider." Perhaps it was different in this world. Blunt and obvious. But she couldn't see herself falling into that habit. Edged with fustration, the undead made a low growl before slumping to sit against a tree, one paw rubbing at her temples. She wasn't mad, or even feeling agitation toward Hakyoku. It was aimed to her lack of understanding of this world and how to bother fitting into it. Too much conforming for her to even think long on.

"I feel as though I have insulted you somehow," he explained and hoped he explained clearly enough. With a flick of his tail he stopped. He seemed to set her off by just simply apologizing. It was strange.
He sat up on his haunches freeing his paws "I see." he said quietly. And apparently her 'allies' weren't her friends either.

"Mm? No, you haven't insulted me. You've just...enlightened me. Not really something an undead wants to know about though." A lifetime of boredom, hah! Oh of she could afford an honest laugh. But instead she waved a paw and twitched a small smile on her muzzle. She didn't want to loose pleasant company just because she had a grumpy fit.

Hakyoku bobbed his head slightly at least he hadn't insulted her. He's rather not loose is company over something so simple. He quite enjoyed her company after all. It was quite fine he had enlightened her but still.
"My apologies, since you would have rather not known about it." He said in his cool even voice "Perhaps a change in subject then?" he suggested to the kitsu before him. Hakyoku motioned to the path before them asking if she wished to continue their walk.

"No, I...apologize." She almost seemed to grimace at expressing herself like that, but it vanished before it could be seen. "My mannerism are not the best, if you haven't already noticed." She gave a shrug, accepting her own faults before passing a glance to the dark furred kitsu.
"I hope I have not insulted you, in return." She made to restand, batting her tails about to get rid of dirt and sand. "A change sounds good. What do you have to talk about?" She hadn't a clue what to bother bringing up of herself, so she'd sit back and hear the other's story.

Not the type to be easily insulted Hakyoku gently shook his head. He honestly didn't mind her mannerism too much being the strange one and all.
"What do you know about magic?" he asked glancing up at the bright moon, it would be full soon And with it came mild trouble for a few of his siblings. and aunts and uncles.

"Magic?" How lovely for all the topics imaginable that this would be the one spoken. Setsu teetered her ears against the purple strands of her hair. "A great deal of it then, I suppose. We hardly ever did call it magic or science. It's just an individual's unique abilities." Her double colored eyes too look up at the moon, not catching any hint if it held importance for Hakyoku. "Is it something you practice? Or...does it practice you?"

Pulling his gaze from the moon and turning his attention back toward Setsu and gave a nod. "Interesting..."
Hakyoku let a smirk come to his features "I practice it." he replied calmly "It's a skill passed down on my mother's side of the family." he explained

Setsu let her eyes narrow as this information was revealed. So, the other obviously did hold some dangerous strengths. The question was if it'd have to be something she'd fear or worse. "Oh, so it's genetic? No real say in if you want it or not..." Sounded more like a condition than a gift or curse.
Letting out a mute sigh, the kitsu halted in her walking as they were near the lakeside. Bugs could easily be seen sometimes dancing on top of the glassy surface. Good thing she didn't feel the need for thirst.

Hakyoku's expression didn't change as she narrowed her eyes. SHe most likely thought his ability to do magic could be a threat. his mother like everyone in his family stressed to stay away from the dark arts and so he did as he was told. "You don't have to worry, I don't know any necromancy..." he added "things along those lines are forbidden in my family."
The half breed paused along side Setsu and stared across the lake watching the glowing insects dance in the moonlight as he waited for setsu's reply.
