Cain charged after Nahuel. The girls were faster, though; he flailed wildly as one grabbed him by the arm, and ended up hitting her with the bazooka, dropping it in the process.
The girl's friends glared. She just sobbed. Cain gulped and pelted towards the water slide. "It was an accident!" he called over his shoulder. The group of angry girls dropped out of sight as he hit the slide at top speed.
The slide ended abruptly over a pool. A BIG pool - and were those fish down there?

After zipping off the slide, Nahuel surfaced sputtering a moment later. He looked around for Cain, found the boy, and motioned for him to follow as he swam for shore.
They were at the very heart of the pirate town now. It rose around them for several child-scaled stories.
Nahuel took a moment to reload his water gun, which he still had against all odds, and scouted out the exits. He didn't want to go back the way they came, but that raised portcullis looked promising. "Let's go, Cain," he said, laughing easily as he strode towards it. They were back on the trail. He had a good feeling about this.

Cain could only tread water and he watched Nahuel swim off with envy. He emerged onshore a minute later, looking embarrassed - he'd had to kangaroo-hop to shore. As soon as they got home, he vowed, he WOULD learn to swim!
This was a very different part of the water park. The sounds of the other kids, including the sobbing girls, were very far off now. It was only Nahuel and him...alone, in pirate country.
The younger boy stuck close to Nahuel. "Are we close?" he wondered.

"I don't know," replied Nahuel, squinting in the semi-darkness. The floor had been sloping from the entrance, and now the water was up to his knees. It seemed to be evening out, though. Hopefully it wouldn't get much deeper. They had to be getting close! He'd looked everywhere.
Suddenly, Nahuel stopped. The sloshing was different here. He looked to his right. He looked to his left. He saw a short and squat doorway in the wall - child sized, like almost everything else.
"Let's check it out," he said to Cain, and crouched to pass under it.

Passing under the portcullis had been a nervous moment - it would be just like this place to send it crashing down, maybe with a couple of supersoaker wielding pirates to attack once they were trapped. But they were allowed in without incident. Cain kept his hand on the wall as it started to get darker.
"Okay." he said nervously, eyeing the doorway. It made him smile briefly to see Nahuel had to duck; finally, something had slowed him down!
The doorway led into a small tunnel. It was pitch black, just like the flooding room. The ceiling started to slope down like the floor had, so much that even he had to duck. Poor Nahuel.

Nahuel grumbled as his head brushed the ceiling, and finally got down on his hands and knees so that the water was up to his chest. Great adventurers had to ready to get dirty for their work, after all.
There was light up ahead, coming from a little doorway. Nahuel squeezed through it, helped Cain through, and looked around.
Gold dripped from every visible surface. The sun poured in through holes in the slats of the roof. Water tumbled down the walls and then drained out through and vent at the center of the room.
It didn't look like any of the things could be taken, but this was cool! It didn't look like people came here often.
There was a slide set high in the wall, accessible by a winding staircase. That was probably the way out. Nahuel turned to Cain.
"Hey, we found it!" he said cheerfully.
