A small hand reached its way into the stlit the teepee had for a door, pushing it away gently as the two-legger attatched to it hummed a soft tune. In Chahuk's other arm was a basket, full of freshly picked fruits and vegetables. The young native girl's eyes seemed to bulge as she saw the two Soquili before her, and automatically knew what was happening. She nearly dropped the basket in disbelief, but caught herself and set it down gently on the inside of the door. This was the third time she'd helped a mare give birth in less than a year, but she never would have expected one she'd never seen before. Deer-skin moccasins scraped hurriedly across the floor, and Chahuk slapped Dichali's rear. "Out! Out! Out! Go!" Her voice was stern, but the two-legger didn't want the stallion to be there, worrying the brightly colored mare.
Dichali huffed as the two-legger shooed him away. Giving a quick nuzzle to Faer, he whispered, "You'll be fine. She's done this before. Just trust her." He exited the teepee reluctantly, but knew it was for the better.

Almost instantly, at the sight of the two leggers hand Faer's blossoms formed a loose barrier infront of her, standing rigid and partly blocking her from view. The mare huffed, startled and half attempted to rise to her feet only to fail. Faer's ears pressed hard against her skull, and again she snorted and gritted her teeth. Normally, strange two-leggers wouldn't startle the pink mare this much but under the circumstances the mother-to-be would take no chances. Things only seemed to get worse as the girl shooed Dicahli from the tent. Faer stretched her neck out through the barrier, half rising to her front feet to get the last nuzzle from him. Crying out gently, she didn't want him to go, she was too scared and wanted him to be there. Faer would have followed him if she had the strength but collapsed back down in a painful heap, huffing and white tail whipping behind her. Faer barely heard the words but it seemed to relax her. Laying back down comfortably, the cherry blossom barrier seemed to melt away. The petals landed all around her and on her body, some glowing lightly. If Dichali said he could trust her, then Faer guessed she would have to. Her body relaxed, and she stared at the two-legger intently, watching her every move but showing no signs that she would do anything irrational and would cooperate.

The two-legger scurried to the corner of the teepee to retrieve a few baskets; three, as she didn't know how many foals the mare was carrying. Chahuk examined the mare carefully, taking note that she was unable to stand. This would be the young girl's first delivery with the mare laying down. All there was to do was wait, and pray that all went smoothly. Humming softly, the human placed her hand on the mare's swolen belly to feel how quickly the contractions were coming. She cautiously positioned herself behind Faer with the baskets and moved her tail, petting the mare's rump softly. "You're going to be alright... This won't take long..."
Worried footsteps could be heard outside the teepee as Dichali waited impatiently. He wasn't really thinking about much; mostly about why he should be worried. They weren't his, right? So what was the problem? Why should he care if they were okay or not? The stallion sighed, and decided to leave in search of food for the new foals.

((*moves the hands on Great Clock of Life ahead a few hours >.>*))
The long night had passed quickly for the mare, now exhausted from event. Blue, weary eyes stared at the two baskets that now sat infront of her, painted to resemble it's contents. The first basket was white, orange and various shades of pink. The second basket looked identical to the children's father, blue and orange. Carefully, Faer moved the baskets closer to her, the blue one against her belly and the other next to it. Both baskets and the ground they sat on were covered in pink petals, glowing in harmoniously in a soundless tune. Stretching a wing out over them protectively, covering up the blue basket completely but leaving a tiny portion of the white basket sticking out, Faer looked over wearily at the young girl. She was very thankful to the two-legger, helping her through the nights ordeal. Faer stretched her neck out and rubbed her pink nose gently on the girl's face before turning and nickering softly at the door. She wanted Dichali with her now, to see their family. Faer wouldn't be able to force her body awake for much longer.

((Ahahahaha. XD))
Chahuk smiled at the mare and hurriedly took care of her paints, taking the brushes made from a widdled stick and rabbit's hair outside to clean them.
Dichali rushed into the teepee as he heard the mare's nicker, nearly knocking over the two-legger. But he didn't care about her at the moment. For some strange reason, excitement filled the flutter's body. How odd it was to feel excited for somebody else's children... "Hey... Are you alright, Faer?" He didn't really know what else he could say. Laying down beside her, Dichali nuzzled the mare, trying to comfort her.

Faer laughed weakly as she watched the flutter run to her side. She nuzzled him all over, so happy to see him. " It's okay Dichali. We're doing great." The mare kept nuzzling him with deep affection, happy that she could have a family with him. Ever since she had first met him, Faer had been smitten with Dichali. Starting it all spontaneously, and never looking back, the mare couldn't be happier. To be honest with herself, Faer had ....had she fallen in love with him? Was it possible to fall in love in a short period of time? They had seen each other a few times before her pregnancy, before Dichali had to babysit. But when she saw him again, Faer ahd never felt happier in her life. But...in love? And did he feel the same? So many questions, and the mare's mind was so tired. Faer decided that in a few days, after some long rest, she would go for a few days to allow the thought to sink in -- and to think of a way to tell him. If she could tell him...But for now, Faer let out a gentle sigh and continued her affection on Dichali. Things would stay they were now.

Dichali couldn't help but chuckle at the mare's nuzzling, wondering if all mares were so affectionate after giving birth. The 'we' kind of threw him off for a moment, but he figured that she was just excited to be able to experience motherhood for the first time. But... Was it the first time she'd had foals? How was he supposed to tell the difference? Now the question of who the father was and if this was her first batch of children ate away at his curiosity, but he remained quiet about it, examining the visible basket. It was white with orange and pink... Or was it orange with pink and white? The stallion figured the white and pink came from Faer, but... Who did he know that had orange on him? Hmm... How odd.

Faer's nuzzling seemed to slow, as she closed her eyes. Her exhausted body was loosing it's ability to stay awake, and she was quickly falling asleep. " I'm...so happy. Finally..." The mare's head slipped to Dichali's shoulder in a last nuzzle, no longer able to hold her head up. Faer attempted again to finish the sentence. " Finally...a mother...". She fell asleep, no longer able to stay awake after giving birth to two beautiful children.

The edges of Dichali's mouth curled ever-so-slightly in a smile as the mare spoke her last words to him before falling asleep. His eyes wandered back to the basket peeking out. Surely there was more than one? He eyed her wing, which was most likely covering the other one. Not wanting to disturb the mare's sleep, he let it be and laid down beside her, drifting to sleep himself.

It was afternoon when the mare woke the next day, feeling rested for the most part. Her aching body reminded her of the birth last night, and her blue orbs immiediantly went to the baskets under her unfolded wing. One wriggled ever so slightly and Faer smiled, knowing that the two baskets were doing alright. Shifting her head, the mare looked up at the sleeping stallion, Dichali must have stayed up the night with her. Faer chuckled as she remembered how quickly he had come to her side afterwards. But the thought also brought tears to her eyes. She would leave now, while he was still sleeping. To afraid to tell him she loved him...to afraid of rejection. Knowing of Dicahli's past, Faer stared at the baskets. Leaving the stallion was hard enough but Faer had also made the decision to leave one of the baskets with him. She knew, and was very confident, that Dichali would make an amazing father and it would be cruel to both father and child if they were seperated because of her fear. Standing slowly, white basket resting comfortably on her back between her wings, Faer leaned down and ran her muzzle over the blue basket. Tears ran down her cheeks, unsure if she was being stupid or if this was the right thing. The basket wiggled at her touch, causing Faer to choke on a sob. Turning her attention to Dichali, she nuzzled him softly but deeply. Faer closed her blue eyes, droplets falling onto his light blue coat. " I'm sorry..." She whispered, knowing he wouldn't her hear. Nuzzling the basket one last time the mare left, petals floating lower then ever before. She picked up and threw a few pebbles lightly at the teepee, to get Dichali to wake up so the basket wouldn't be alone for long. Faer's heart was crushed.
((one more post from Dichali finding the basket and we'll call it FIN ^^))

Dichali's eyes fluttered open when he heard the rocks on the side of the teepee. Grumbling, he tried to go back to sleep, but the sound made it difficult. "Damn it, Amitola! What have I told you about wa--" The stallions green orbs caught sight of the basket mid-sentance, and he nudged it curiously. In the dim light of the teepee, he could tell that it looked like him. A lot like him, actually. Though, perhaps a bit darker. More nudging came, then some sniffing, and suddenly, a thought. "... Naw... It can't be... My... Sibling?"
(Yeah... Sucky, I know. But hey~ What can you do?)
