I choose Vader. He already beat Maul in the expanded universe so of course Vader is gonna win.
That is not a cannon part of the Expanded Universe. And for good reason.
Actually, THAT fight is.
The fight you're thinking of is the rematch between Obi-Wan and Maul at the Lars Farm. That's the non-canon one.
And you can't just say The Dark Lord tells the whole story about Vader. I mean, the book takes place barely a month after the movie. Vader's still getting used to his suit by that point.
But Vader is STILL a friggen insane player. He was still better than his Apprentice, who killed off at least two well-known Jedi. Vader had Force powers out the wazoo, even with his suit. Plus, his Djem So combat was second to none.
It's long been said. Vader with his suit was 9/10 of the Emperor, whereas without his suit or cybernetic limbs, he was potentially twice Palpatine. Not even Luke can boast so much.
Did I also mention that Vader pretty much walked into a Jedi trapped, was ambushed by about 13 Jedi kinghts and Masters, and killed them all with minimal help?
Oh, and let's not even mention how he was still stronger than every other Dark Sider in the galaxy during his lifetime, inculding Mara Jade, Conor Jax, and every last Dark Side Adept, Prophet of the Dark Side, and Inquisitor.
In short, in a straight fight, Darth Vader would demlosih Darth Maul, albeit after a bit of a struggle.
