Ter was wondering idly why the man didn't expect him to be able to control his own body well... kind of odd. He gave a shrug instead of bothering with explaining that of course he could control his coils, just like the teacher could control his legs.

A fanged grin spread over the cobra's face and he gave a nod, "Of course, I know Cobra aren't really the sort of snake that goes around squeezing people but it wouldn't really be fair if I went around biting everyone I fought with now would it?"

Absorbing the information he only gave a slight tilt of his head as a nod. He guessed that made sense, Cobra's were highly venomous so he supposed crushing people with his coils was better than a immediate death by posoining. It was better...but not by much.

"Cobra's I believe only bite when provoked. Unlike what most people think venomous snakes don't go biting people for just being near them. Producing venom takes a lot of energy." He commented not sure why he felt the urge to mention this to the boy. It had nothing to do with their lesson and he was pretty sure that Ter knew enough about his own species than he did.

"Now when you go to pin someone what would your normal instinctual reaction be? What would you do?" He inquired.

Ter couldn't help but give a little laugh when he got a class in Cobra behavior from his teacher, "I have only ever bitten anyone twice, once was an accident." He told his teacher, "So don't worry, I don't plan on going about chomping on you and everyone else I run across." It wasn't how he wanted to win his battles, it felt a bit like cheating if you asked him.

He tilted his head at the teacher's question then thought of the times he coiled around people, "First I try to tangle up their legs, they can't run off that way or really be very well balanced for fighting back." He told Kuyoja... then wondering what he mean by his normal reaction. He debated for a moment before saying, "I don't really pin people so much as tangle up their lets and set to swinging."

If they couldn't move very well they couldn't defend nearly as well and he got a lot of good hits in.

Somehow Kuyoja wasn't surprised by the kids methods, he didn't really wish to teach someone who liked getting into fights proper ways to actually win a fight...giving him an advantage like that only served to encourage him to get into more fights. He was silent a few seconds as he looked the cobra over before continuing. This was his job...to teach melee...he couldn't let his personal outlook cloud that.

"With pinning you wouldn't have to throw a single punch. A proper pin can immobilize your target without having to exert the extra effort to make them stay still." He explained thinking that somehow Ter wouldn't be so thrilled on that idea.

"A pinning move is meant to stop your target from being able to proceed with harming you or others. Usually once people are pinned they are forced to give up as they have no other options available to them. Breaking pinning holds is difficult and usually requires brute strength to do so." He continued as he moved back into place so Ter could try pinning him again.

"Now I want you to do the same thing. This time try and pin me to the floor." He instructed relaxing his body so that he could fall softly.

Ter nodded, stretching out before he drew all of his coils over to himself and bunched them up. So now he got to pin the teacher he thought to himself, having quite a bit of fun with this. He shifted as he looked the teacher up and down, considering, and then moved forward. Well pinning meant making use of all of his coils, he would have to entangle the guy python style. Not a normal thing for a cobra but for Ter it was something he'd done before.

He moved as quickly as he could, using all of his coils and all of his weight, plus what the teacher showed him alright to set to wrapping and pinning him. One of those times his weight would help him.

Kuyoja allowed himself to to be coiled around. He had to admit it was a strange sensation having muscles bound around you on all sides. But he didn't seem to look worried in the least. He was quite stuck that was for sure...although not quite what he had wanted Ter to do it was still effective.

"Very good. Your weight is certainly your advantage in this situation." He concluded as he found himself unable to really move not that he was trying to. Throws though required quite a bit of strength upper body strength anyway. Since Ter seemed to have pinning down perhaps throws should be next.

"I think it is best we move from pins to throws. You seem quite able to pin people." He said with a nod of his head waiting for Ter to uncoild himself.

The snake was still for a moment before his coils tightened and then released the teacher. Damn this class... it was hard he thought to himself. How often did he coil around people, not counting Z, that he didn't end up beating on? And to have to repeatedly do so with the teacher... what a pain. He bit his lip as he slithered back and drug all his coils back to him, piling them up, "Sounds good, lets do more throwing." He said, having had fun with that since it was basically like fighting, getting to toss his teacher around.

Havning felt the slight tensing of the boy's coils he was relieved to have him uncoil himself. Though he didn't think the boy would lose control he still didn't know Ter well enough to think otherwise.

Moving he rolled his shoulders the joints popping as he allowed his body a moment to adjust being free again. It was then that he turned to face his student once more.

"Have you ever thrown an opponent before? " He inquired.

Ter gave a shake of his head, "Can't say that I can, a bit of tripping but no throwing." He said, the teacher had a lot of useful tips when it came to fighting didn't he? Mostly Ter went into things using the same moves all the time but these classes were going to help him become a lot better at what he loved to do! Fight!

"They sound like they would be helpful though."

Kuyoja nodded his head moving this time to go grab a dummy as he didn't exactly wish to be thrown by a novice. No matter how much safe falling he did he would go home with bruised ribs for sure.

Draggin the dummy over it was...much lighter than Kuyoja, probably the weight of a small child. He didn't want Ter to over excert himself and thus he thought it better to start light.

"Until you get the feel for it you will be practicing on this dummy, you will find it much lighter than a regular human adult would be. Until you have built some upper body strength it won't be safe to proceed into heavier subjects." He explanied the function of the doll. It was...like a sack. It wasn't very sturdy but was rather stiff and it had weights at the wrists, ankles and midsection. He could add and remove weights as he wished.

"Please test it out, tell me if it is too light. "

Ter took the dummy, testing the weight before a smirk appeared on his lips, "Weighs about the same as my older brother." He said in a joking manner, "Which means when I get home I will have a second dummy to toss around."

He thought it was funny, one could tell by how he was smirking up a storm as he tested the weight of the sack before looking over at the teacher, "So, what is the special way to throw this thing?" So far the guy had special ways of going about all of his techniques.

Off to the side one could hear low, amused laughter from the wyvern who was observing and currently had the mental image of her boy tossing that weakling owl about. How amusing would that be?

Even if Kuyoja wasn't amused by the idea his student was plotting to test these moves out on other children it didn't show, although his stiff manner seemed a bit more stiff as he went to take the dummy to demonstrate.

"This particular move is called Ippon Seoinage, or the one arm shoulder throw. It is a Judo technique. Watch carefullly." He stated as he then went about positioning the dummy before proceeding.

Moving the teacher grabbed the cloth around the dummy's shoulder, he then turned his body so that the dummy was now behind him, slouching forward he basically pulled the body up and around so that it rolled off his shoulder before being thrown onto the ground. It looked a bit dramatic as the dummy was rather light. A heavier opponent wouldn't of been thrown quite as forcefully.

As he finished he stood up and then moved to pick the dummy up again to position it for Ter.
"You want to come from the front, hook your arm under the opponents armpit, turn your body so that your back is against them and lift and roll the opponent over your shoulder and then without letting go let them hit the ground." he explained in more detail.

Ter did his best not to grin when the teacher went to demonstrate the new in a rather stiff manner. Had the guy believed him? He couldn't help but swish the end of his tail, he had no idea why but taunting this guy just seemed... fun. It must be his lack of a sense of humor perhaps? Or maybe his lack of most emotions in general?

As such as he moved to look the dummy over after Kuyoja was done throwing it then resetting it he said, "I don't know how well it would work, Ligeia has wings." He muttered in a manner that was 'to himself' before he went about trying out the throw.

Kuyoja looked at his student determining that this class would be over as soon as he got the hang of the throw.

"Someone with wings would probably end up having them broken if they were thrown..." He explained still serious as he did not want to have Orpheus come back to him waving a stack of messy papers wanting to know why he taught his son such a dangerous skill.

"Please try throwing the dummy.. You shouldn't be trying this move on real people until you get use to the weight." He cautioned.

"I will keep that in mind." He said, as he moved to practice the throw. He did it the first time, starred at the dummy and then decided he wanted to try again because the throw didn't feel as fluid as it had seemed when the teacher did it.

When gave a fanged grin when he threw it the second time because he got a good bit of distance on the throw and couldn't help but laugh a bit.
