like almost everyone is saying you need to make your lips closer together, a smaller hole for the air to come out, and the air needs to be faster. when i first started flute, i did scales, mainly b flat because its eaisest, but go from middle b (your low my middle cuz my flute has a low b flat key on it) to high b then from middle c to high c then middle d to high d and so on and the point of it its to feel the differece in the way your mouth is formed between each note, after a while its second nature. i can go from low b to high c (the highest note not thrid octive) now no problem biggrin

I don't mind paying high notes, but I find the lower register of the flute to sound much prettier. Although I've been playing for a while now I still have a little trouble with the high E; the high F,G, and up don't give me any problems, but that E doesn't always want to come out.

flutes are mainly known as the high pitched instruments. i kinda like high notes but sometimes they get tiring.

open up the back of your throat a little and try to keep an open "cave" in your mouth, like your trying to swallow hot mashed potatoes. [hey whatever works] blow faster air and try to push from your diaphram. if need be maybe you should try tummy bumps, like your saying ha ha ha. thats what my private teacher says. make sure if you have an open hole flute that you cover all the holes properly, and of course check your fingerings. hope that helps. xD
