Rivener couldn't be sure (nothing was ever obvious with this strange blonde Raevan, it seemed) but it almost sounded like Melisande was feeling better. It even almost sounded like she actually might forget her whole idea of hating Rivener and vice versa. Well, Riv was the one doing the hating all along, and Pasha was simply accepting it. And now Rivener was doing the apologizing and once again Pasha was accepting. Was she, then, a go-with-the-flow kind of girl? Hm, somehow Rivener doubted it; he'd always only seen her fuss and worry.

Still, it felt nice, now. When she wasn't worrying or fussing, Pasha was actually kinda decent, Riv admitted. He also admitted (for the umpteenth time) that she was extremely gorgeous. Good thing his back was turned, lest all these thoughts be clearly read across his face.

The muse's question, out of the blue like that, took Rivener completely by surprise. He'd expected they would both wait in silence for the apparently imminent fixing of the door. Red eyes flicked over his shoulder to pin the girl to the far wall of the elevator and study her like a butterfly behind a glass case.

Was this an offer out of pity? Out of a misplaced sense of owing something to Riv? Out of a desperate grab to have him like her again, like she'd done that one time at Karaoke? Or was it simply a proffered hand, with no selfish meaning? ...Everything had SOME selfish meaning, and Rivener couldn't fault anyone for that; he'd always acted selfish himself. So he supposed there was no harm in accepting this offered friendship, even if it WAS slightly selfish.

With the barest hint of a smile and a softening of the red eyes (from sharp edge to hard angles, not mellowing completely) the Scorpion nodded. "That'd be nice. Lucia knows my number, and maybe your Guardian has Aphismet's, too. I'd like to visit Zave. I hope he's okay." With that, Riv turned back to the doors, shifting his bag to the other hand and fretting slightly. It felt a tad awkward, but he had nothing else to talk about.

"S-so, what were you here to buy?"

By the sound beyond the doors, they would be free soon, but until then it somehow didn't seem okay to just wait quietly anymore. Riv felt compelled to fill the silence. Weird.
