Well most people do.

Well most people do.

That isn't a fair statement.

You cannot say
"Most people fall in love"
in a society like we have. People, including every one of us, have lost the real image of love. So, the few who really do fall in love usually don't live to tell the tale.

gross with the animal thing...i dont think gays should want to get married...marriage is between a man and a women...gays should never have to sucome to others belifs just becasue one doesnt exist for them yet...there should be a unionization or collaberation of souls...that is just as perminate (which marriage rally isnt) as marriage. One that means the same life death sickness and health factors as marriage...im a democrat and we fight for change in a progressive mannor...as far as the gay marriage they should call it Uniage for Homosexualls!

But that, you see, is segregation.

Our culture's definition of Marriage, according to a bill passed by Clinton, is the legal binding of a man and a woman. But our culture's definitions of a lot of things have changed. If it didn't, we'd still be having blacks as slaves, asians as trade-only, and we'd be treating the indians like s**t.

Marriage, in the eyes of the Church, is the Holy bonding of a man and woman.

Five simple, clear, perfect words.
Seperation.Of.Church.From.State.

Yes, Freedom to practice one's own religion, amendment one of our dear constitution, as to not force someone's belief on someone else.

So.

The image has to change.

Or people will never adapt.

What kind of world is that?

I agree with Fleyth, its not a matter of what you believe or what anyone believes, its all a legal matter, the reason why it isn't already legal and why most politicians aren't supporting it is because they will have to give them the same benefits as married couples, and the government really doesnt want to do that. The whole "marriage is between a man and a woman" is just to distract all the religious minded people in this country....
But there is one thing I can agree with though, if a homosexual couple wants to be married, a church that does not support that lifestyle should not be forced to wed them. Thats private matter and a decision left up to the church. But otherwise, homosexual marraige is not only what I suppot, but hell... its constitutional

That's a funny thing that you said that. I was just reading that in Vermont, where "civil unions" are legal. A church can refuse the right to marry a same-sex couple. Most mormon and protestant and some 7th-Day Adventists will marry a gay couple. Catholics absolutely will not.
And marriage can be totally lasting. My ex-girlfriend's parents have been happily married for 33 years.
You just gotta have faith in love, foo.

One: The whole thing that same sex intimacy doesn't happen in nature is bullshit. Male ducks have been caught ******** each other and even ******** with a dead male. (Yes ducks ******** their dead.)
And for the lesbian thing, without that whiptail lizards would not survive. There are no male whiptail lizards anymore. Young are born from unfertilised eggs and are a perfect clone of their mother; females however do need stimulation to be able to lay their eggs.

TWO: All gays and lesbians who want to get married come to the Netherlands, here gay and lesbian couples can get married and adopt kids. biggrin biggrin

I think couples should be able to marry, weather they're straight, gay or leasbian.

I read the article about the homosexual necrophilia in the ducks too. Absitively, posolutely priceless.

What really gets me is Prop 2. It just passed in Texas. It's defining marriage as one man and one woman, yes, but it's mostly about tax benefits. It takes them away from all couples who are not one man and one woman, married. No tax benefits for single parents. Or if you're living together. It's basically a tax on not being married. Now, gay marriage is debatable, but this isn't. If voters understood the issues involved, it wouldn't have passed.

Oh. And hospital visitation rights. If someone is dying in the hospital, and you aren't married to them, you can't see them. At all. That's more important than marriage. The reason these insane laws are passing is because they have been spun out of control. Marriage wasn't about love throughout most of history. The whole idea of marriage and romance being connected began in the 19th century. I'm not entirely convinced marriage for love is a good thing. But tax benefits? Hospital visitation rights? Who can argue against those?

exactly! couldn't have explained it better myself. So the whole "marriage protection act" is really just a formal "moral" coverup for this taz issue. Thats why politicians are also backing away from civil unions even though most of these "moral" idiots in America don't care about those. Its all part of the money game, if the government can screw with the people enough, they can get any reaction they want. They think they are being all holy and ethical by opposing same-sex marriage, but they are actually just buying in to this tax game. Its really very sickening.
also, but the way, the "marriage protection act" not only calls for marriage to be between one woman and one man, but it also calls that the man and woman be Christian... It's another way to cheat people from their tax deductions and if most people knew this was part of the act, they would be against it.... because, you know, people of all religions can get deductions but gays can't... I love America rolleyes

It isn't against my religion, and there's a chance I would want to marry a female, so yeah, I'm all for it. And, even if I was straight and hyper-super-duper-homophobe, I would still want it to be legal. Because, the government isn't there to tell us what is right and wrong spiritually, they are there to keep people form getting hurt my other people. It is not their place.

Show me the part that says it's only Christians, because I wouldn't believe something like that based on hearsay.

It's not the politicians' fault. Believe it or not, most politicians aren't out to 'get' gays. In fact, I'd be hard-pressed to think of one who was. Most just don't understand the issue- which is why the most important thing for the gay rights movement to do is educate people.

The conservatives are not to blame. We are the ones who want change. We're the ones challenging the status quo. The burden is on us. That's not saying we're wrong, just that you can't change the order of things on a whim. If it was that easy, chaos would rule. We need the conservative backbone to keep the crazies from taking over. But we also need dynamic, progressive types to keep us from becoming too hidebound. It's a duality, not an 'omg republians suxxor' situation.

And that's why I really do love America.

in my opinion...gay marriage should be allowed...people can fall in love with whoever they want...it is not for someone else to choose what is right and wrong in this world...i think any kind of sex should be allowed...the animal part i have a slight problem with just because some animals actually die from that...necropheliacs(spc) well i wouldn't be caught dead with that but hey what ever floats your boat...it bothers me that this society that we live in is MONEY MONEY MONEY...we should be about the people and for the people...but then you have to realise that to have those rights other rights have to be taken away or else as stated somewere else in this thread there would be chaos...it is hard to balance them out but i don't see how allowing any kind of marrage to happen would throw this fallen world into an even bigger pit of dispair...i will stop now and appologise for writing so much...not a member here so doubt i will be able to find it again but thx again for listening to my little rant...

I believe that you should marry who you want because that person means more to you than anyone else, so who really gives a damn if it's another guy or girl, that's the person you love.
