I love checking old books out from the library. I love that first moment after you've opened it, when the book smell washes over you. But the main reason I love old books is the history. I like to imagine who last read the book, and what they thought.

I adore that smell. I have about 15-20 books that are over 100 years old. Sometimes I just open them to smell that glorious smell.

I love the old book smell- heck, just give me a book that hasn't been picked up at the library for a few years and I'm in heaven smile But truely, you can't beat the smell of a honest to goodness hundred year old book.

I've never smelled, or even held, a 100 year old book, but it must be amazing. I like the smell of any book. Books just make me happy, and I feel better when I read them. I told my friends that, and they thought that I was crazy.

Scents of books make me happy. It doesn't matter what kind. Unless the scent is tainted with cigarrette smells or something.

dark_sakaki Fezzik999 Ah, the smells of books. How true it is to be overjoyed by the spicy smell of an old book, the crack of the leather binding and the smell of print. I own a few very old books and love the smell when I open it, and the smell of a used bookstore is quite refreshing. couldn't have put it in to better words razz exactly^_^

Old books smell great! Most people I know think they stink, but then who are they. Old books are the best, in smell and that lovely sound when you flip the page.

3nodding Nice to know other people love this smell too! And here I was thinking I was just plain wierd. The only really old book I own is this collection of Shakespeare plays that I found in my grandma's house, the pages have that nice golden tint and it smells lovely.
