Evan snapped to attention at the mention of 'lady'. Shaking his head, he chuckled in what he thought was a devious manner as he stood up.
"Hah, maybe Issy would do something like that, but me, Evan, a real man, would never leave a lady on her own in possibly dangerous places!" He attempted a rakishly handsome smirk at Ezra, gripping his rifle. "Not to scare you or anything, but..." Cue shifty eyes, bending over and whisper-like conversation, "I think we're in danger at the moment. Big danger."
Evan straightened and pushed his hair back, still smiling at Ezra. "But don't worry. Your old buddy Evan's got everything sorted out. So just follow me and don't hesitate to hide behind me okay? If you want to cling to me for, uh, ahem...comfort reasons...that's fine too." He strode confidently towards the mouth of the gorge-like place they were in, waving his gun carelessly around.

Isvara refocused his eyes from the escape pods to his scanners telling him where his fellow crew members were.
"Evan and Wei are within your vicinity," his scanner went off.
"SOPHIE!" exclaimed Isvara as he turned himself to face her, "We no longer are the Adam and Eve of this Brave New World. My scanner rang and genetic diversity called."
Isvara tried contacting Ezra and Evan, hoping to find out if they were alright. While he was trying to contact them, he thought he'd make a joke to Sophie.
"I like older women anyway," he sneered, "And Ezra and I would be able to kickstart a much more awesome new race of humans."
He saw Sophie look down to the ground as if she was saddened by something. He quickly realized how it was about his statement poking fun at Sophie's relatively young age.
"Hey Sophie. Don't take it seriously," he tried to assure her.
He then waited for Ezra or Evan to pick up on his signals.

"Ah know ya wouldn't, Evan darlin'," drawled Ezra. "I'll be right behind ya. Just in case you collapse, y'understand." She followed after him, resisting - just barely - the urge to prod him in the back a lot.
Her armband began to beep. Ezra blinked at it, until it trilled out, "Isvara and Sophie are within your vicinity. We thank you for using Morpheus Industries-" "Mmyep," murmured Ezra, and pressed the enter button a little harder than she might have needed to. That damn advertisement. She still hadn't figured out how to turn it off. Then the computer started beeping. She sighed, unbuckled it and pressed the display button to bring up a largeview projection of the tiny screen.
Isvara is attempting to contact you. Do you respond? Y/N "Y," she said. "Evan, hold on. Isvara's callin'." Contact established.
Moments later, Isvara's face appeared on the screen. Ezra scanned his background for any distinguishing geographical features, but there were none. Damn. Well, they should be close enough that they could see them once they got out of the gorge. Gorge, really, the more she looked at the walls the more they looked like buildings...enough of that crazy talk. "Afternoon, Mr. Sharma," she said. "Everyone all right on your side of things?"

"Yes, Sophie and I are A-okay," Isvara replied, "You?"
Isvara checked the area around Ezra and saw Evan toting his rifle around.
"So where are we going to meet up?" asked Isvara.

Sophie's eyes lit up when Isvara remarked that other life was detected. Ezra and Evan. She put down her empty kit that was once filled with lasagna and looked to the scanner.
But as always, Isvara had to poke fun at Sophie's age, "I like older women anyway," he sneered, "and Ezra and I would be able to kickstart a much more awesome new race of humans." She was not saddened by him liking older women, but the fact that he kept referring back to her age, making her feel like she was a child and could not keep up to their standards.
"Hey Sophie. Don't take it seriously," he added. She nodded a few times, not looking at him.
After a few awkward moments, Ezra's face appeared on Isvara's scanner, "afternoon, Mr. Sharma," she said. "Everyone all right on your side of things?"
"Yes, Sophie and I are A-okay," Isvara replied, "you?"
Sophie quickly turned and ran over to the scanner, hovering above Isvara's shoulder. She smiled and waved, "Ezra!"
"So where are we going to meet up?" asked Isvara.
Sophie looked around to see of anything in the environment seemed familiar.

((aagh sorry I have not posted! Finals year is trying to EAT ME.))
"Evan had a li'l bit of trouble with re-entry sickness," Ezra said, grinning. "He's fine now, as y'can probably see. Good to know y'all're okay." She paused. "Do you guys see a whole bunch of rocks all clustered together, just a bit south-southeast of ya? That's where we are." She scuffed at the ground. "Fair bit o'shade over here, too. And-" On the ground, something caught her eye.
She paused and knelt down to brush away more sand. Ground shouldn't look like that, and if it did...the shapes looking up at her were a tesselating pattern of octagons and squares, and they were a bright orange that stood out against the gray-yellow of the sand. "And I think ya'd better come take a look, then," she said. "Here. What d'you think?" She unbuckled her armband and held its transmission screen facedown as she brushed away more sand. "Civilisation on Centuria, maybe?" The Confed won't be happy about this.
As if to reassure herself, she shifted so she could feel the weight of her gun on her hip.

((I'M HERE I'M HERE. Sorry, it's been a hectic last week. Slash I've been lazy. xD))
Evan bent over opposite Ezra, his gaze flicking between the ground and Ezra's cleavage.
"Civilisation?" he said distractedly, then straightening. "Okay, I think that...you have a nice bra, Ezra." He grinned then backpedalled quickly, holding his hands up defensively. "But really, I think we should meet up with Isvara and Sophie first, before we go hunting unknown...things." Scared? He didn't know the meaning of the word. Pfft. REAL MEN WEREN'T SCARED. The word scared wasn't in their dictionary!
He tapped on his communicator, trying to connect with Sophie. If those two were having their own private chat, he may as well do the same with Sophie. And maybe ask her if she'd like to sample Centurian cuisine some time when they were off duty.

"Civilization, huh?" Isvara was overjoyed. He'd be the first discoverer of a brand new civilization; whom he could name anything.
"Well Ezra, say if we find sentient life forms," he said, "I get to name them! You can name whatever else! Anyway, I'm coming!"
He turned towards Sophie and grabbed her thin wrists.
"You're staying close to me," Isvara gave her a stern look and began walking in the direction Ezra said she was, hoping that he wouldn't run into anything dangerous.

Too busy looking around, Sophie was not paying attention to Ezra and Isvara's conversation; however, she managed to hear something about a possibility of a civilization. Suddenly Isvara grabbed her wrist and began to pull her to follow him.
"You're staying close to me," he said.
Sophie nodded with little confusion when her communicator beeped. She moved her hand to the other Isvara was gripping and pushed a button. Holding her hand out like she was looking at a watch, she blinked to see Evan. Not being able to speak out of shock and shyness, she just looked at him, blushing.

"Hey, Sophie honey," Evan said, bringing forth his most charming smile. "How've you been? Feeling hungry? I know I am." Hungry for loooove. "I know this really nice place nearby, I'm sure you'll love it. Up for a little dangerous tasting?" He raked his hair back, looking around and thinking fast. Okay, s**t, maybe his mouth was faster than his brain; he didn't know somewhere here. Hell, he'd never been here before, but with his manly sense of direction, nobody would be able to tell the difference!
...hopefully. Maybe.

Hungry for love? Sophie's eyes widened a little and blushed even more, "I... Actually just ate some lasagna, but sure if you'd like," she smiled nervously. It was hard to believe a restaurant would be in a place like this. She looked to Isvara, still tugging on her hand to follow him, hoping he would explain there being restaurants on Centuria. How long now before they find Ezra and Evan?

Isvara overheard Evan's comment about a restaurant on Centuria which seemed to have left Sophie confused.
"Soph, there are no restaurants on Centuria," he told her, "Evan is just trying to womanize you as he does to everyone."
Isvara looked around his environment and remembered.
"Sparks!" he looked at Sophie with a smile on her face and hugged her as if they were being saved. She still was confused.
Isvara sent out a signal to find out if any Von Neumann machines which Earth sent out were in the area. It would know its way around this area because it it would have mapped it. His wrist computer frequently sent out signals as he continued walking; hoping that a machine would home in on them.

Annoyed at his attempt to score being interrupted, Evan sent a glare in Isvara's direction.
"How do you know there aren't any restaurants on Centuria, Issy?" he asked, still glaring. "There might be. You're usually wrong anyway!" He cleared his throat, glancing back at Ezra.
"So, first lieutenant Xiao, how long until we meet up with our grief-stricken comrades, who are just waiting to stare upon my beautiful aura once more?" he asked, referencing her old status humorously.

"Still your first lieutenant, Second Lieutenant Taylor, so none of your insubordination," drawled Ezra, glancing back at Evan over her shoulder. "Sadly, I'm gonna have to take Isvara's side on this side of your ideological debate. Ah seriously doubt there's going to be a restaurant in this blasted wasteland. Though if there is, I'm getting to name it, aren't I, Isvara?" She smiled through the communicator and stood up. The sun was high in the sky, though she wasn't sure whether it was a reliable indicator of time. Different orbits, after all.
She glanced around. There was nothing she could identify, and she felt weirdly disoriented. Being disoriented did things to her brain. "C'mon, Second Lieutenant Taylor!" She flung out an arm, pointing skyward. "We can't leave civilians unattended. That's an offence to ya manliness!" And hopefully they won't get eaten before we reach them, she thought, but didn't say that. Eaten; or bitten, or stung, or poisoned...
Without waiting for Evan to answer, she looked at her communicator's map and strode off in that direction, patting her gun reassuringly.

"I'm never insubordinate to a lady, much less to my superior officer," Evan exclaimed loudly, throwing the arm with his rifle out. "Only charming and irresistible." As he said that, he snuck a quick look at Sophie out of the corner of his eye. Ah, his manliness was big enough to float a hot air balloon. Chicks just didn't realise it until they got to know him better. Much better.
"Civilians? The only civilians around here are probably hanging in that restaurant," he said. "Nobody would come to such a desolate place unless the grub was good." He perked up. "Hey, good grub! I'm starving, let's pick up the others and head for some food!" He didn't notice Ezra walking off without him until he stopped drooling over some lasagne, maybe some pizza and all washed down with a beer. Shaking his head, he jogged after her.
"You should let me go first, first lieutenant," he called after her. "Wouldn't want a lady and my commanding officer to be hurt when I could have prevented it, that is." Or maybe I should stay behind, he mused to himself. After all, she would probably need someone to catch her when she faints at the sight of a giant preying mantis or something.
