"Not a poor time at all." he said, smiling. He turned his head around to look at Honeysuckle as she slipped from his entrance. "Oh, of course, Mrs. Honeysuckle." he said. "I will keep them snug in my home, I can assure you. No harm will come to them." He waved her a talon goodbye.

"Now, about you." He turned back to the Fjord. "Please, do come with me. I have many gems and trinkets to pick from and lots of time to spare. Senri, do go and collect some berries for me, will you?" He eyed as Senri said goodbye to honeysuckle, then flew to the other hollow he and Lute shared.

Fjord hooted softly in greeting and dipped his head towards Honeysuckle, before turning his attention back towards the well known, forgetful crafter. He was slightly curious about which gems Honeysuckle spoke of, but kept those fleeting thoughts to himself. They must be pretty, but she had already called dibs, after all.

"Ah, thank you kindly, sir. I've little doubt in your skill... Hmm, lets see. Something blue or green would be nice, to match my dye."

Lute smiled and beckoned him to follow into his hollow full of gems. He watched Senri stick the landing and dropped off the pair of berries. Lute used his will to offer one to his guest. He then nodded to Senri, who picked up the pair of gems in both claws, then slid back out and flew to the living hollow, dropping them inside.

Now alone, Lute grinned at Fjord with a strech of his beak. "Well, sir, I have many different blues and greens." he said, sorting through the massive mess of gems again. "I have lapis lazuli, emeralds..." he said. "Find something you like."

Fjord peered into the mound of gems; his eyes were searching for the perfect one. It was definitely a good thing his little pica had not followed him. For the most part, Feather was well behaved. He felt that this mess would be a little too much shiny for the companion.

"Have you any recommendations?" He asked as he turned over a rather beautiful emerald.

"Hmmm..." he walked around him from all sides. "Either an opal or Uvariote Drusy." He dug the two stones from the pile- one was all rainbowlike; blues and greens melded together with a light dust of brown. The other looked like what humans would consider glitter on a stone. Both were pretty, but one was rough looking and the other glassy.

Fjord peered more closely at the smooth, glassy gem. "Is that the opal? I think I like it best." He lifted the considered item with his Will and admired it from all angles.

It was about that time he heard the flurry of wings and winced.

"Fjord! Fjord! Where are you?" The small, familiar voice of his feathered companion caused his feathers to sleek in alarm. He had told Feather to stay at home tonight!

Lute nodded. "The opal is a personal favourite too." he said. "And I will indeed be able to fixiate it to any pendant, ring or..." he paused, esars flicking up. He glared and slid through the hollow, wings parting slightly as his eyes flased. Pica....again!

The damn Pica was back. Runewing's Syz was at it again! He would teach it this time by tearing it apart, like he had warned. He didn't even care if the bird had not been crying for Runewing. He sailed out of his home and shot towards the Pica, hissing loudly and viciously. He was confused and angry.

Feather could only recall being greeted with such hostility by the mysterious sentinel Sly, so Lute's reaction was confusing and startling. He had seen aggressive sentinels before and this was enough to scare the wits out of him.
"FJORDFJORDFJORDFJORD!" The pica's call turned to panic as he shot to one side in an attempt to get away from the fast approaching sentinel.

"Lute! Stop!" Fjord followed the crafter out of the hollow. His usually serene voice took on a tone of fear. Blast that companion! Apparently bribing didn't work this time. "He's my companion!"

Lute banked sharply, reeling around and swiping his talons at the small Pica. He was not listening to Fjord. He just had eyes for this companion- the dirty little theif! He did not carry Runewing's feather and he was trying to escape, just like before. With a hiss, he streched his beak out to deliver a deadly n**...but he stopped. Something was different. He tucked his talons around the Pica, easily outspeeding him, and landed. He examined him VERY closely pressed against the branch bark... This Pica had no stolen gem, nor did he look like Syz.

Now Lute felt silly and ashamed. He had done it again! He had almost killed an innocent companion, just like the first time he tried hunting!! He felt his nostril slits get warm with embarassment. "Oh dear..." he said, letting the Pica up. "I am terribly sorry. I thought he was that damn pica Syz..." he said, gulping. "Oh dear, this in't good at all." He was now flustered.

Fjord landed hard on the branch behind Lute. For such a small sentinel, he made quite a thud. His feathers were puffed to full extent and his wings were splayed aggressively.

Feather was shaking and quaking that any other creature to know him might think Sly was near. It had been a close call; one that had the little bird swearing up and down that he would never leave without Fjord's permission again.

Of course this would not prove to be true, as he would forget or become distracted with his own wants and do the same all over again.

"Feather, over here." Fjord told the pica, who willingly obliged and tried his best to squirm up beneath the aberrant's belly feathers.

Lute gulped. "I truly am sorry!" he said, shaking. "I thought he was Syz...the damn Pica who stole from me last time." he said, eyes clenched. "I do not trust any pica in my territory. They are too..hard to trust, if you know what I mean. Can't resist shiny things." he said, snorting and giving his primaries a short preen.

Fjord had not met Syz yet and knew little of him, so he was unsure of how to compare the two. He felt a mixture of anger and nervousness, but at the same time his forgiving personality would not let him lash out at Lute.

Feather was frightened, but there was no harm done in the end.

"My pica isn't so bad... Are you, Feather?" He hooted to the shaking companion, who didn't respond.

"In any case, he is with me, so he won't do your items any harm."

Lute nodded and then lifted off again. "No hard feelings, right?" he asked as he landed back at the hollow entrance, eyeballing the Pica the whole time. He had a horrible trust issue when it came to their species...but Fjord was right- as long as he was there, his items were safe. He'd have to check their talons before they left, however.

He squeezed back into the hollow and pushed all but the opal aside. "Now, where were we?" he asked. "Oh yes. How did you want the gem mounted?"

"Something nice and light... You do specialize in sterling silver, no?" He looked the gem over that he had been examining earlier. "I think I would like it as a... Well, I think a bracelet to add to my collection." He lifted a paw to show off the other silver pieces that were wrapped about his legs. Several of them were adorned with his bells.

Lute looked at the raised foot from all sides. He then nodded. "Senri. My tendon and cutters."

Senri looked up and nodded, grabbing a small piece of the stringy material and wrapping it around Fjord's leg. Lute held it with his will as the little bird's beak ripped through it. "Alright." Lute said, taking the string. He then hopped over to a large piece of raw ore in the back. It was chipped and broken. He closed his eyes, his will working as it began to knead the rock, like a baker did with Pizza dough. He streched a long strand a few times until it was nice and long. Then, using a claw, he ripped it off. In this state, it was like putty. After baking in the sun, it would be hard and almost unbreakable.

"Got a specific design in mind?" he asked.

A note from the Herald: silver ore is not dough, so this post will need to be modified before the RP can go on. RP staff will PM you to discuss this shortly.
