Blossom sat and pondered for a while, wondering over Helios's words. "Well, thank you," she replied, a little bit of her energy coming back. "A key...do you think it would be literal, or figurative?" she wondered out loud.

Helios looked thoughtful. "I don't know for certain, but my instinct is working with my less than complete memory and saying that the key we're searching for is figurative." He rubbed one of his eyes, thinking about a certain fragment of his memory that involved pure dreams and mirrors. He suddenly remembered something else; a bright object, glistening with a thousand rainbows and radiating good energy like a fire radiates heat. He knew what it was, but the word was eluding him.

"Do you think...maybe that the key we're looking for has to do with you?" Blossom asked tenatively. She was wondering if destiny had brought them both here tonight.

Helios looked somber as he cocked his head to the side, contemplating. "I don't think anyone can know for sure; destiny's mysterious like that. I happen to know a namir that is plagued by destiny. But........ I haven't really done much with myself ever since I've been here, in this strange world. Maybe.........maybe that's what I'm supposed to do; find the key and put your nightmares to sleep."

Blossom smiled a little. "Destiny is strange," she murmured. "If you do help me find the key to my nightmares, how will I ever repay you?"

Helios smiled a warm smile. "The only reward worth the trouble would be for you to be able to dream wonderful dreams that I could look at and marvel at. I have a special relationship with the world of dreams, and to me, a sweet dream is like......like a wonderful dessert. Or a day of sunshine. Or getting just what you wanted for Christmas."

Blossom stared in wonder at Helios. No wonder he seemed so special to her. "Having sweet dreams is a reward to me as well," she said. "If wonderful dreams are good for you, what about my nightmares?" She was worried that her nightmare was causing him trouble or pain.

Helios' forehead crinkled as he thought. "I don't really know how bad dreams affect me. I feel sad that they're out there, but I don't think it's something that can be entirely wiped away. After all, without nightmares, I'm sure we would not appreciate the good dreams as much. Still...." he sighed. "One finds them hard to see in a good light, and I do not blame them."

"That's a nice way to put it," Blossom said thoughtfully. "If we only had sweet dreams, we wouldn't be able to recognize the differences, like you said." She swished her tail a bit, wondering what to say next. "Oh yeah, you mentioned something about your incomplete memories earlier. What was that about?"

Helios looked mildly surprised, as though he had completely forgotten what he had said. Then he scratched an ear and pondered. "I'm not too sure......I have memories of being in a place where I could see all the namrah around me but I was unable to move or speak and nobody saw me; that was before the rehome, so that was explained away. But I have older memories.....of dreams and crystals and winged horses....." He rubbed the mark on his head absently. "I guess I haven't given them much thought; I was just so happy about being able to move again."

Blossom flinched a little at the description of being unable to move or speak, as that was worse than death to her. "That must've been like a nightmare," she commented. "Crystals and winged horses? Sounds interesting. And I can understand why."

Helios nodded. "It did seem like a nightmare, as close to one as I could have. But then it was odd speaking to a few and discovering that they had had the same nightmare. Even such things as that are easier to cope with when there are others who went through the same thing." He smiled and his cheeks had the tiniest hint of pink. "Well, I have always loved winged horses, but the crystals fascinate me. They seem to come from the newer memories, but I can't seem to grasp just what it is they did to make me remember them above all the rest." He looked at Blossom with wide eyes. "I wonder if any can be found here? Maybe if I saw one, the memory would strengthen."

[coor=pink]Blossom looked thoughtful, thinking. "I've never seen a winged horse around here, but there are some crystals in my den," she said. "I could take you there, but you'll have to be silent or else you'll wake up the other namrah."

Helios smiled sheepishly. "I did mean just the crystals; I should have clarified. I know there probably aren't any winged horses here." He nodded eagerly. "I owuld love to go with you there, and I promise I will be very quiet."

Blossom smiled back and began to lead him back the way she had come. Tip-toeing across the floor, she guided him past the other sleeping namrah and into her room in the back. There, a couple of glowing crystals lit up the room.
