Marissa, one of the first to catch up due to the fact that she had not been running earlier, not to mention the fact that she was chasing her son, padded up to Val, quieting her quick breath. She was not an athletic person at all, and so tired very easily. She plucked a purple strand from bum-length curly hair. Without speaking she handed it to Val.

Veshengo made his way out of the woods and stepped infront of Val and the other gypsies. "Is Leshya'e alright?" He scanned the group and saw her. "I didn't mean to leave you on the ground...but I had to follow them...they stole another one...We have to save them." The mysterious stranger had been, for a yet to be revealed reason, following behind the group when Lesh and Anezka were attacked. He knew Lesh was tough so, though it caused him pain to see her laying there, he took off after Anezka and her captors. While tracking them, he also saw Aisrhan's abduction.

Caroline, having managed to stay caught up with the group, hears Val's request for hair. Her hand automatically goes toward her mahogany-coloured cascade of hair. It hadn't occured to her that Val might use her own hair added to that of Missa's.

Silver looked at the man now standing in front of them. "Who are - never mind. You know where they took Aisrhan and Anezka?" Her voice shook a little as she said the fortunette's names, testament to the fact that she was scared to death for them, even though she was trying to act strong to get herself through this and find their children.

Veshengo looked at Silver and shook his head. "I lost them right about here..." He gestured to the shack they were near, "I don't know where they are now...who knows if they've slowed or changed directions...I'm so sorry"

(Computer system on campus has been ubelievably slow- thus, the lack in my posting. It took me a god twenty minutes to get to this page and log in. -___-)
Val was aware of Veshengo's appearance, but did not turn to face the rest of them- she was instead focusing on the strands of hair she'd received. She twined them together and slid them around the lock, but not before a few well-placed words that caused them to glow with an unearthly light. It was the glow of the promise of the bond- the gypsies who had supplied them were symbolizing that they were responsible for the destruction of this safety. To open a lock is a simple thing of opening, or smashing... but for a gypsy, who has to worry about the magical implications of something like destroying an artifact that's meant to keep an area safe, there are large ramifications. And that responsibilty had to be... magically documented.
With the offering, the lock fell off the door and made a soft landing in the moss that surrounded the shack. It was a sign that there was at least one level beneath the ground- for moss is supported in those areas that are permeated with moisture, and as a ceiling for a cavern. Val turned back upon the gypsies.
"Be prepared for anything," she whispered, "but know that we will do anything to get our children back. They are our legacy, our future. They can no less be torn from us than our hearts can be." And with that, she opened the door with a flash of her hand, to reveal... darkness. A step inside showed an empty room... marked only by a trap door on the ground. The same flash of her hand flung the trapdoor up, and a long staircase met her eye.
"Come..." she said, and took the first steps into the darkness.
((Btw, you can start to hear the chanting, and come across the men in the sub-level. I still have LOTS of surprises... but I don't mind if you guys take control of some of the action. ^_^))

"Wait," whispers Carloline urgently. "Perhaps Em or I should stay behind, hidden, with Rojiza and Pierre." She casts a glance downward at her precious cargo, now only squirming gently. She never had liked the carrier-sling. "That way, one of us won't have to worry about protecting our child and fighting, if it comes to that." She hesitates to suggest herself as the one who should stay back--she desperately wants to help, but she's no use at fighting. She shifts her weight, waiting for Val's response, and hears a tiny, barely-audible -clink!- from the pack on her back. She grins, despite the grim situation. Maybe not fighting, but she had always made a most tantalizing distraction!

Em nodded with Caroline's statement. She had no desire to be left out of this, but Val's words still rang in her ears. These children were their legacy.
"Here, give me Rojiza. I can care for them both. I'll go back out into the woods, just beyond the clearing, and hide." She adjusted her own infant with one arm, supported by her chest on the other side, and reached out for the squirrel- like child.

"I will join you..." Veshengo nodded to Em. He knew it was a long shot that any of these gypsies would trust him, as this was the first time he had shown himself to anyone other then Leshya'e. Opening his jacket, he flashed his dagger to Em, then bowed his head. "The children will need me more then the rest of you will"

Leshya'e dropped her bag onto the ground and then walked over to Silver, giving her a quick hug. "Let's go...our daughters need us..." She closed her eyes and said a quick, mumbled prayer, then grabbed Silver's hand and squeezed it.

Marissa nodded at Val's words. She looked down at Kale, wagging his bushy tail expectantly. Kneeling to his level, she put a hand under his chin and guided his head so that they made direct eye contact. "Kale." Her tone was serious. She did not want to mess this up. "Stai locului. Liniste." 'Stay still. Quiet,' she told him in romanian, her grandmother's language. He looked back with unmoving eyes. He understood her. Quickly she swooped him up with one hand, holding him in the crook of her arm. He was a tiny fox, barely 6 lbs. (The length of time spent as a magical animal seemed to have stunted his growth.) Usually she would have kept him with the others, but they might need his nose again. Who knew how big this place was, despite it's tiny appearence. Of there was one thing she had learned as a gypsy, it was not to judge a book by it's cover. She followed the others inside.

Caroline takes Rojiza out of her carry-sling and looks her in the eyes. "Rojiza," she says in Spanish, "Seas silenciosa. Esperes con Em, con Pierre, y con aquel hombre. No dales ningun apuro. Entiendes?" She cocks an eyebrow, then carefully shuffles her over to Em. One last lingering look at her daughter, and Caroline disappears into the house with the rest of the gypsies.

Silver squeezed Leshya'e's hand in return and nodded. She made sure her dagger was still secure under her sleeve, knowing that a flick of her wrist was all it would take to draw it and a split second more to do some serious damage, if need be. "Alright. I'm ready," she said and followed Valelldia into the shack and through the trap door. She didn't see anyone, but heard an odd rhythmic noise, like a low hum. A few steps further and she distinguished it as chanting. She couldn't make out the words, but now she was beginning to worry a bit more as to why, exactly, these people would need magical children. Her concern for Aisrhan and Anezka grew, if that were possible, and she glanced at Leshya'e before continuing to follow Val. She drew her dagger, just in case.

Lesh's nerves heightened as she heard the chanting. Those bastards...they stole our children to be sacrifices? Her fists clenched and she took a slow, deep breath. They'll have to kill me first!

They descended down the stairs- a troupe of women stronger than any other she'd ever known in all her life. They were loving and caring... generous to a fault, magical, mysterious, and eternally humble...
But now, in this time of frightening need, they were strong and unbreakable- eyes steeled and weapons drawn. Seeing the resolve in their beautiful travellers expressions, Valelldia found that all doubt and fear was erased from her own mind. She had no doubt that they were perservere.
"Come.." she whispered, although they were all behind her anyway, winding down the stairs in the dark. The light only reached up to greet them as they descended deeper into the womb of this evil place- a few barely-lit torches illuminated the steps ahead, one torch per ten steps or less. The chanting grew louder, and the words more pronounced- though the language was still foreign to the caravan leader's ear. They continued, shallow, silent steps on the stone staircase, until they came upon a wall. The door was a step to the left- and the sound of the chanting was so intense that it was obvious that whoever had the children... were right on the other side.
((Up to you what happens directly next, ladies- wait.. or charge. Or something else. XD))
