Sly smiled over his shoulder and turned to her, walking up to her. “Well, that certainly is good to hear. I know I made the right decision in picking you, let’s hope you don’t prove me wrong. It would hurt me terribly to know I put so much faith in you after showing how gifted you are.” He said, and despite his own apprehension, he slipped a wing around her. “Come now. It’s been a long day and we are going to wake up very early in the night to learn how to fly. I have much planned for us. Come now.” He said, ushering her to the side where he had made a very crude, bachelor-created, nest. It certainly showed signs that Sly not only made the right choice in not becoming a crafter, but that he certainly didn’t hang around with any mothers or ladies to pick up a pointer here and there. Still, it suited him and he naturally assumed it would do a fledgling just fine.
“Here. Just nest here and sleep.” He said, trying to guide her to the nest.

Gifted?
Rain’s face lit up, and she couldn’t help but yap, “Don’t worry Sir, I’ll make you proud, I will!”
She waddled with him over to the… nest… he’d made. It wasn’t much like the ones at the Enclave. Didn’t look too tidy. But, stepping gingerly into it, she found it to be comfortable enough. From there, Rainfall could see Dayga curled in her little niche. She kept a wary eye on the Serpe as she settled down, fluffing her feathers for warmth. It would be a long day if that thing stayed in the hollow. She’d have to watch it like a super strict minder. This fledgling was no sitting duck! If Sly went to sleep, she would be prepared in case it came over and tried to…
Rain drifted off in mid-thought.

It didn’t go unnoticed by Sly that Rain was watching Dayga, as she had her eyes open and looking in the direction that Sly was use to knowing where his companion slept. Watching her, he waited for her to close her eyes, but it didn’t seem to be working. He had thought that once she was placed in a nest, she would just sleep instantly, yet she didn’t seem to be following his best wishes.
“Rain, do not pay attention to her. She will do nothing to you. Dayga knows better than to mess with a Sentinel. I’ve taught her that much. If she even thinks of approaching you with the intention to harm you, I’ll kill her.” He said, turning and adjusting himself a few steps away from the nest to a larger and more crudely formed nest of his own, guessing that fledgling nest would need ‘more’ material than his own. Both nest however where thick and full of feathers and various materials. Being a Shadow, Sly got cold easily and was use to being cold. There also seemed to be more wind near the Swift River than he would have liked.
Outside, birds where chirping with the rising run and the river splashed outside as the trees rustled, yet no light entered the dark enclave. “Go to sleep, Rain. That’s an order.” He said, closing his own eyes and curling his wings tightly to his body. After a moment, he peeled his eyes open to check to make sure she was asleep.
