Any scene with Angela is pretty scary. lol But I got the crap scared out of me today while playing next fear mode in sh2. In the apartment when you look through the bars blocking the hall and pyramid head is just standing there.

The scariest moments for me were in SH3 with the nightmare hospital and mirror room. Both the sounds and overall environment were creepy >.<

Well for me, on SH: Homecoming, there's a scene where you get an item off of a stained glass window, right when you grab it a Siam bursts through. That part was freaky!
I was like. "Oh, look an item~" SMASHH!!! "AHHHHHHH WTF!!!"

1: There's a room which has the last key before you can leave the apartments in sh2. In order to get to the key you have to pass through an adjoining room and go out on the balcony. It's not always audible (it depends on your sound set-up - headphones do the trick) but if you listen carefully there is some incredibly creepy whispering when you first enter the room. It only happens the once - even if you go back, so it's very easy to miss. It's not clear what is being said or even if it is in English, but it really makes the skin crawl - especially if it is unexpected. 2: when you go to the hospital basement in sh2 to get the copper ring (where you meet up with Maria again) - there is a fenced off area before you go through the door at the bottom of the stairs - and if you listen for a while there is this dreadful sound like a cat being strangled. 3: Having to leave all your equipment behind when you take the elevator in the hotel in sh2. 4: The body dropping from the ceiling in the hospital at the start of sh5. 5: At the start of sh4 when the ghost comes out of the wall (after you notice the face in the wall). 6: Cynthia's entrance as a ghost in sh4 was very creepy - though it seemed to be very much inspired by "The Ring" movies. 7: When Pyramid-Head approaches the cupboard James is hiding in, in the apartment building in sh2. 8: The disembodied crying girl with the bloody footprints in sh3. 9: The room in sh3 with the big bleeding mirror. Where you watch her reflection change to dark Heather/Cheryl - not being able to get out at first. 10: Being locked in the prison cell in sh2 - until you try the door several times. 11: The bottom of the well in sh2 - being stuck there until you examine the walls thoroughly. 12: The big room in the prison (with the scaffold in the middle) in sh2 - nothing much actually happens, but the sense of dread is powerful. 13: The unseen monster upstairs from the prison cells in sh2. (It is actually possible to shoot this monster if you want - wait until James looks up - then shoot away until the noises stop.) 14: The cat in the locker at the school in sh1. 15: The sound of breaking glass etc. when you are in the hospital rooms in sh3. 16: The first time you get grappled by a spitter on the streets in sh0. I wasn't expecting that. I was like "get it off! get it off!"
It's hard to reduce it to just a couple of incidents, once you think back on them all.

That cat noise in the basement of sh2 scared me too but mostly the guy in the prison you were talking about. I heard the voice and I just froze and dropped my ps2 controller in fear. ( I think the prisoner is saying ritual and according to some sights that is what it is) I think that is the only time I got really scared enough in the series to drop my controller. Most times when I get scared in silent hill games I just hold the gun out and start cursing and saying to myself. "Where is it. ****. Where is the monster or pause my game and chuck the controller across my basement whenever I get one of those jump scares. What's also scary is when you r trying to be stealthy and avoid the monsters by turning your flashlight off and sometimes the monsters walk right past you or you see them continue to walk up and down the hall or street. The Lying figuresnin the labrinth do that when I turn my flashlight off and it is scary. But the absolute scariest thing to me is seeing the frozen manniquen in the hallway in the appartment right before the battle with PH. I just exited the room and froze in fright ( forget what I said about only freezing in that one part at the prison.) And the manniquens on the streets of SH oh god that's even worse. I have trouble going to sleep at night and turning on lights after confronting a maniquen. ( scariest monster... ever)

I had to walk by the army of nurses in the waiting room burning_eyes Holy crap that was freaky! Never played Homecoming yet but I know what you mean. I get scared just watching videos of people playing through the game and encountering the nurses at the hospital. Scared the crap out of me when they were walking some upper level in some part of the hospital in this open room where you have to jump down to get to the bottom because the stairs are gone like halfway through going down and he encountered these nurses and enjoyed looking at a body that was cut in half. If you don't know what I'm talking about check out this cool and hilarious video on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9u9GfNFnXIY Be warned because there are of course spoilers and strong language. But then again we all play silent hill so I highly doubt that language is worse then the gruesome violence we've seen.

Just got origins and The room and I've already gotten the crap scared out of. Those straightjackets keep grappling me and trying to hump my face. I HATE THEM!!! I kill one and another one comes up and shoots acid at me and then it starts humping my face. stressed The reason its scary is because they charge at you like angry bulls and I try to run but Travis gets tired way to quickly unless I drink all my energy drinks and they still get to hump my face. Thank god I have like 6 meat hooks on me those take care of them quickly. On the bright side I have the magical power to touch mirrors to change the world from fogworld to the otherworld. Oh and the sanitarium scares the crap out of me. Especially near the patients belonings area and you hear this noise like a bunch of people talking but there is no one there. eek But who could forget the remnants and the charging hunks of meat ( carrions) Silent Hill 4 the room so far has scared me with annoying Sniffer dogs. Ghost that dig around in my chest trying to rip my heart out, being smacked around by those wallman on the esculator ( it's actually kind of funny... until you die.) and finding cynthias wonderful mangled bloody body after walter slaughters her in the subway control room. ( I love how they through room of angel in that scene... made it epic and sad)......... But the scariest thing of all is.... the apartment mananger ( DUH DUH DUH) .... Mr. Sunderland????? eek

The ghosts really were the scariest part of silent hill 4 for me. They gave me nightmares for 3 months after I played it. There was another part that made me jump when you visit apartment world. You step out in the main hall and you see Walter behind a cage eek and then later you go into a completely harmless looking room and at the end of one hall is Walter behind another cage and he shoots at you!

Yeah. The ghost scare me to. Mainly that moaning sound they make and how they don't even stay down for 5 seconds before getting back up. Still the scariest thing for me is the sniffer dogs. And the part with walter you were talking about is probably going to give me nightmares if it's anything like in Silent Hill 2 when pyramid head is in the apartment behind that one cage in the hallway.

Yep.. I think Walter Sullivan will scare you, he is one creepy dude, gave me night-mares too. Yet I thought he was very cool at the same time, even with all the harassing of you that he does. (sorry, I hope I didn't give too much away)
