Tal opened his eyes and stared down at the water, eying his reflection. He sighed and glanced at Patty without moving his head. He shrugged and bent over to take a drink. There was no way he would be the first to talk.

Patty couldn't help but keep glancing at him from the corner of her eye. And one time, she thought he was glancing at her too.
She swam around a little, still glancing at him from time to time, and then finally she couldn't take it. She had to know what he was thinking. She swam over to him and looked up at him on the shore. She was a few feet away from the edge.
"So...I guess you decided to come after all..." She felt silly saying this, but she couldn't think of anything else to say. She knew she'd probably regret it.

Tal looked up from his drinking to see Patty staring right at him, and questioning him. "I'm not the type of guy to let a female wander alone," was all he could remark as he stared unblinkingly at her.

Patty was a little surprised. That was the last thing she had been expecting, and although it made her a little upset that he hadn't really come because he wanted to, it did make her feel good that he hadn't let her come alone. She always liked protective guys like that. She chuckled and then smiled at him. "Well...thanks I guess! But um...I'm sure I'll be ok...you don't have to..." she trailed off at the end and decided not to babble any more than she needed to.

Tal looked at her and shrugged. "I'll be all right, it's not as if I was doing anything useful anyways. Now I can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak." He said as he yawned lightly and continued to look at her.

"Alright..." Well, as long as he was going to be here watching her, she was going to have her fun. She tilted her head and smiled impishly at him. "You look a little tired, maybe you could use some water to wake you up?" She grinned and used her paw to splash a little bit of water at him.

He stared at her blankly. "What do you mean by t-" he started to ask before he was splashed. He raised his paw and wiped off his face from the water on it. "Well what was that for?"

She giggled. "I told you, you looked like you could use a little waking up. Not to mention some fun." She laughed again, splashing just a bit more at him.
