"So it would appear," she said sourly. Brindle picked up what was left of her dignity and turned her anger on the lion healer instead of Tami.
"Blast it Zephre, why are you sneaking around the dens in the middle of the night? And without giving any signal?" She shook the dust from her coat and gave him a harsh look (which he could not see).

The blind lion recognized her voice, and that of Calyn her second. Zephre had been just as shaken as Brindle, he had been ready to spring upon the cat that had accosted his young apprentice despite his fear.
"Me sneaking around? What about you?"

Brindle opened her mouth to reply then closed it.

"We were on our way to the dens to wait out the choosing. Speaking of which, shouldn't you be there Brindle?" The lion asked gently, he could sense tigress' anxiety.

"I will be wherever I need to be." She said bluntly.
Zephre chuckled. "Who am I to argue with the lead huntress? Very well, shall we wait by the dens together?"
Brindle nodded. "Fine, but this time we go by the rules." With that she lifted her head and called out to the den-watchers with a controlled roar, letting them know of their arrival.
"I think she is worried about Calyn." Zephre whispered quietly to his apprentice.

Brindle turned towards the dens then paused for a moment and looked down at Tami. "Sorry." She growled softly. "I suppose with all that has happened, I'm still a little uneasy."

Tami nodded meekly, retreating back to beside Zephre. He was safe, or at least in her mind. She'd always acted younger than she was, still holding onto what naivety and innocence she still had. "Calyn, aren't you supposed to be there too? Being a second, and cause of..." she trailed off, cringing as she realized what she'd brought up, and when she saw the brief flicker of pain on the huntress' features.

"Probably. But I'm not going to unless they make me. Some of them still think I should try and take his place..." Calyn said quietly, almost bitterly. "Zephre, mind if I take her on ahead?" she asked, knowing it would to the younger cat good to be around the den-watchers and the cubs. She needed to relax.

"Hmm? Not at all." Zephre smiled. Brindle looked uneasy, but said nothing.
"We'll catch you up Tami, you can tell the cubs that their favorite story-teller is on his way."
The tigress raised an eyebrow in Zephre's direction. Being a hunter she was away from the den-sights most of the time and so had never seen much of them, or the healers for that matter. Zephre was almost a stranger to her, and he certainly was strange. All the males she dealt with were hunters or outriders and most hadn't the slightest interest in the cubs.

((Hmm, more people are needed -.-...another sketch done! ^^))

Both cats nodded, Calyn moving to Brindle. "Don't worry, I'll be careful." she murmured, before turning and dissapearing into the grasses. Tami stayed close to her, running after her. They were fairly quiet, the wind helping to hide their noise, but not as much as if Tami weren't there. She wasn't naturaly quiet, like Calyn seemed to be.

The roar had startled the cubs and konya was trying to settle them. "It's alright, it must be the healers." When she told them they layed back down next to her. She waited for the other to show up, purring and cleaning the cubs to keep them calm.

In the grass, two shadows watched the Hunter second and the healer's apprentice pad away from the other cats.
"Lets go now." One whispered nervously, and received a swat on the nose as payment.
"Fool! They are too close to the dens. We'll wait for now...and watch."

Brindle picked her way through the grass gingerly, Zephre following behind.
"What's wrong with your shoulder?" He questioned casually, picking up on the sound of a slight limp in the tigress' step.
Brindle looked at him in surprise, "Bruised, three days back in a hunt."
"Let me see, well...smell." He stepped closer and nosed her shoulder gently.
"Hmm, You were kicked by a wildebeest."
Brindle's reply was dumbfounded. "How did you?"
"The shape of the bruise, and it smells like a wildebeest hoof." He said grinning. "There are some herbs good for bruising not too far from the dens. We'll fetch you some." With that he continued on.
"Sky above." Brindle whispered.

((Bad news, it seems I will be without internet for 4 days. Apologies to all but you need not stop the rp.))

ooc;; Heyy, I'm new to the roleplay. Hopefully my intro will be good enough! :3

bic;; The shadows seemed unusually lighter as they drew closer to the entrance of the den, a dusty-coloured patch among the pitch black and stone grays. If you looked closer, peering in the dim-light, you could see a small wild-cat, crouched low. The low mewlings of the cubs sounded from behind her; large ears twitched, swivelling in the general direction of the kits. She could hear the other Den-watchers comforting the younglings.

The wildcat rose to her dainty paws, her tail slipping from around her flank and drawing a circle through the air. She turned, her pale green eyes glowing in the dark. "Troubling times," she muttered darkly under her breath, padding towards Konya, the Panther subordinate. "How are the cubs?" Sahari asked in a gentler tone, smiling at her denmate before turning her gaze on the cubs.

She stood before Konya, though even now Sahari's pointed ears came up only to Konya's darkened muzzle; the Sand Cat den-watcher was easily the smallest cat out of all the Pride. THough this did not mean Sahari wasn't to be trifled with. She had a short temper when it came to anybody besides the residents of the nursery, a fury that seemed almost impossibly contained within her lithe body. The den-watcher never hesitated to teach anybody who dared to mess with the cubs a lesson they wouldn't forget in a hurry.

For now, however, Sahari's temper was quieted in the calm air of the den.

Calyn glanced to the side, her ears prickling. Had she heard something. She looked right over the two cats, downwind from them and unable to smell anything. She quickened her pace, slowing again as she neared the dens.
Tami hurried inside ahead of her, relaxing visibly as she neared the cubs. Two pounced on her, drawing the apprentice healer into their makeshift game.
Calyn looked to Sahari and Bianca, silently asking if they would be permitted to be with the cubs. She'd been chased off before, years earlier.

Sahari glanced up, arching her back, thick fur bristling in a warning hiss before she recognized the lithe huntress, accompanied by the healer's apprentice. "Calyn, Tami," Sahari greeted in a cautious voice, her fur slowly flattening. She wondered why the panther-lion cross needed to be with the cubs, but gave a swift jerk of her head. "I don't mind, I guess . . ." she trailed off, casting a side-long glance at Bianca as she spoke. She felt that a warning to be careful with the cubs wasn't needed.

ooc;; Oh, I apologize if my posts seem more house-cattish that wild-cattish. I roleplay Warriors, with feral cats, so that might affect a bit of the detail in my posts. ^^''

Konya stoped cleaning one of the cubs when sahari spoke. "they're fine, just alittle shookin up." She looked at calyn and tami when they came in. "Hello, how are things out there." She kept purring to reasure the cubs near her it was safe.

((hello waveh_xo and welcome ^ ^))

"Only place away from the choosing. Zephre and Brindle'll be here soon, we came ahead. It's... well, it's another choosing." Calyn shrugged, not sure what else to say. "Vultures are out though. They know what's coming." she added quieter.

Konya sighed and closed her eyes. "When will this fighting end." She reopened her eyes when a cub mewed at her. She smiled at it and started to clean it, still purring.

Sahari listened with keen ears as Calyn relayed the events outside. Her tail flicked, and despite her next words she knew it was the business of the whole Pride who was chosen. "As long as they keep it out of the den," she murmured quietly, settling down beside Konya. A cub tottered towards her and she gave a small smile and a quiet purr, giving him a lick on the ear. "There's a good cub," she grinned, nudging him back in the direction of his denmates. Her eyes flickered back towards Calyn and Tami, though she trusted these she-cats. The cubs' safety wasn't threatened - at the moment.

ooc;; Thank-you, Rosette. :3

"They should... Least they're supposed to I think." Calyn sighed, sitting down close to the two denwatchers.

"Hope we won't be busy though... Sahari, how bad are the choosings usually?" Tami asked, laying down and letting the few cubs lay either on top of her or against her. Were she more patient, she probably could've been one of them.
