"Hm. That sounds like you're implying that I'm crazy? My judgment between reality and imagination is quite alright and it's really not that difficult." He noticed the sarcasm but just laughed it off; Delsin didn't let her words bother him at all. He was used to criticism and such and it seemed like he had grown a tough skin.

"Steeled..." Delsin contemplated the meaning of this word. "Uh, basically, doesn't that mean you're trying to be heartless? I don't know why you would want to do that..." Shrugging, he thought that it was pointless to try and hide your feelings because it would just hurt you in the end.

Of course... He had heard that before. "Well, if you ever want to share, I'm here to listen." He knew it wasn't any of his business but that didn't keep him from wondering. Delsin knew he was already bothering her enough and he was surprised she really just hadn't left yet.

"But, from what I understand of the word, isolation. That generally means removing oneself from society and living without the comforts of others. Am I correct?" Not prying about her isolation, Delsin thought he could get something out of her by saying what it is.

"If you must confirm the definition, do not confirm it outloud." Eden muttered irritably. Even if his words rang true, she disliked how it sounded.

She still had the faintest urge to leave, yet she couldn't bring herself to do it. At the realization of this fact, her irritation grew. Distorting her features into a scowl, she gave the stallion an annoyed glare. Not that it would have done much of course. She knew that he would continue to persist in his efforts to coerce her into talking- The last hour had proven that. However, what she found to be the most objectionable was his motives. She didn't understand why he would stay. He didn't seem to be offended by her at all, even with the insults that she had thrown at him.

"Instead of talking about me, Let me ask you this.. Why do you on stay?" She asked, with a defiant look in her piercing gray eyes. "I am trying my best to be rude, yet you haven't said a single word of complaint." It was not so much a question as a declaration. "If my isolation is considered to be odd, I must say that saintly personality is equally so!"

Delsin was slightly amused by her but he didn't show it. She was interesting but he didn't intend to bother her. Even though he was thinking that, Delsin wasn't going to move. That could be considered stubborn but he didn't think of it that way.

Watching her expression curiously, Delsin was genuinely surprised by her question. He wasn't expecting that, maybe a few more insults and 'go away' statements. "Why not?" Pausing, Delsin thought about her question thoughtfully and contemplated his response. "Well, I feel like you're rudeness is not true. There must be reasons for your feelings right now and I know that it seems like I'm intruding. But... you haven't left." It was a well thought out response.

There was a part of him that was incredibly curious about her but there was another part where he wanted to help her if she needed it. Of course, he left this out of his response but that didn't mean he wasn't thinking of it.

For all of her efforts of avoiding the truth, she didn't seem to be attaining the least bit of success. Irritated by this fact, she tugged at her hair impatiently. She debated her options silently, whether to answer the stallion's questions or to not.

She opened her mouth to lie once more but closed it again to give closer thought to her words.. It probably wouldn't hurt to speak the truth.. It wasn't as if Delsin knew her family or anything. So anything that she told him would not likely be revealed to anyone she knew.. Because in the end, they were still strangers to one another.

With a glum look on her face, she leaned herself against the tree allowing it to support her weight. 'Even If I left, where would I go?" She questioned, with a look directed towards the forest surrounding them. "I'm certain that I've wandered every inch of this forest by now." Her gaze dropped to the ground, where her hooves had imprinted the ground.

"Besides, if I left, I don't think you would give up in your efforts to pursue me. Or would you?" She asked with a wry smile. But she already knew that his answer would be to refuse. "What about you?" She cocked her head to one side, with a hollow look upon her face. "Surely, there are rude people everywhere else. Why do you insist on me, when you could bother with them?"

Smiling softly, Delsin noticed that she had stopped being abrasive and was actually talking to him now. He liked... honestly. Delsin was tired of the people that lied to further their wants but he realized that this was part of life. There had to be those people because then finding someone who told the truth wouldn't make them as pure.

"You don't have to stay in this forest. There are mountains and clearings and a bunch of things. Why couldn't you go back to your family?"

Chuckling at her response, Delsin shrugged slightly. "If I thought that you really wanted me to go away then I would have..." The stallion was somewhat chivalrous in certain instances.

Pausing, he thought about his response to her question and then spoke. "Well, you just happened to be here. I can't just pass up on an opportunity to talk to a pretty mare. And even though you were rude, rudeness usually is a shield for insecurity and they aren't actually really rude."

"Those people are not what I call my family." She said, with bitterness in her voice. The only reason why she hadn't left the forest would have been because anywhere else she wandered, she might have had the chance of an encounter with one of her other "family" members.

As she continued to lean against the tree, she closed her eyes to block out the sight of the forest.. and the stallion. She had no accurate way to phrase her feelings but it was as if.. Delsin were the light in this dark, and lonely forest. She wanted only to cower from it, instead of facing it as one with courage should.

As she laid there in silence, and her eyes closed, she gave thought to the stallion's words. "... rudeness usually is a shield for insecurity and they aren't actually really rude." His words echoed through her mind, if only because she knew it was the truth. And it stung for him to know. She had taken him for a persistent stallion, but she she was coming to find there was far more to him then his appearance.

Despite her docile appearance, at the mention of the word "pretty", her temper flared. In an earlier time, she might have been pleased at such a remark, especially given by a handsome stallion. But now, she felt only anger. "Is that what you tell all the mares, Delsin? That they are pretty?" She said, with a c**k of her head. Not waiting for an answer, her emotions took the better of her. "Well, if you should, don't group them together with me!" She fairly spat out the words in malice somewhat mixed with jealousy. "I hate my looks, and I shouldn't even deserve to look this way!" With that statement, she walked away.

She knew that she was acting childish, but some part of her didn't care. She hated this appearance of hers, in taking after her mother. If anything, she wished to be more like K'inali... K'inali had taken after her father but K'inali barely had an idea of what a blessing it was.

Frowning slightly, Delsin understood that some families weren't as close as his but he just couldn't grasp that concept yet. His family was so good to him and he always thought about family as being a positive aspect of life. He didn't even reply to her statement. For once, Delsin wasn't sure what to say about that.

He noticed that she had closed her eyes and he kept quiet. Maybe she was thinking about something thought provoking. He didn't want to disturb that. Delsin was very intrigued by her and wanted to know more. Though, Delsin was curious about many things and to him, these curiosities were just objects or ideas not actual other soquili. In reality, Delsin was very naive when it came to other soquili. He didn't completely understand their emotions and their actions. That's why he loved meeting other soquili so much. Would there ever be a soquili that meant more to him?

Tilting his head slightly when she lashed out at him, Delsin stood there perplexed. It was a compliment. He didn't mean to make her angry but somehow he did. Narrowing his eyes slightly, Delsin wouldn't let his emotions get the better of him. "So, you don't like your physical appearance? That's a pity because I hardly give that compliment."

Watching her walk away, Delsin couldn't help but grin slightly. Not to be rude but she was amusing him. "So. I didn't leave after your steely, not so nice comments before. Did you think I was going to leave now?" The stallion trailed behind her because he knew that being in a heightened emotional state, she could get in plenty of trouble.

Frustrated by the stallion and his persistence, she swirled around to face the stallion. "Haven't you ever heard of a temper tantrum? " She retorted back, with an angry flash in her eyes. Her efforts to stay aloof was fading fast, if they hadn't already disappeared. She simply couldn't keep her facade around Delsin. He was too good-natured and genuine for her to lie.

As she brought her eyes to Delsin's she saw the amused grin upon his face. She felt her temper soften at the sight but she felt too stubborn to let it show. "Do you know that you're both deaf and blind?" She muttered, with an annoyed glance. "You don't leave when a person tells you to leave.." Her voice trailed off, as took a breath to speak, "nor do you judge a person's appearance very well!" If he called her pretty, his eyes definitely needed to be corrected. She wasn't pretty nor she would ever be. Because the coloring that she inherited from her mother would never be worthy of such compliments.

Noticing the mention of her mother creeping into her thoughts once more, she pushed the thought away with a shrug of her head. Yet, this was to no success. Her family WAS who she was. Distracted, she turned her thoughts to Delsin. He was born into a wonderful family, she was sure. It showed in his personality- his optimism and naivete. But those weren't necessarily bad traits. If anything, those were one of his attractions.

At the sight of him, she felt both envy and nostalgia. "Once, I was like him." She thought with a wistful touch. But things changed..

Shrugging slightly, Delsin responded, "Yes, I'm quite aware but they're just a negative expression of emotion. That's all. Unless that was supposed to scare me away... It really didn't work." He was so stubborn and he didn't care about any insults that she could throw his way.

He muttered softly, "Being deaf and blind might be nice. Your tactile and olfactory senses become the best." He paused and listened to her before reply to her comments, "But you wouldn't have liked it very much if I just left right? Because then you wouldn't have anybody to listen to your venting and it's no fun if you're venting to air. And I have nothing to say about judging someone's appearance. That's all subjective so I don't understand why I can't compliment you. It's not like I'm being untruthful and it's my opinion." Shrugging again, Delsin seemed to be able to rationalize everything.

He liked common sense and it's not like this mare wasn't using her's, she was ignoring it. For some reason, Delsin felt like this mare was very intelligent but something had happened to her that made her this way. That was unfortunate because the world needed more people like that. His mind began churning trying to think of all of the possible scenarios.

Unable to reply, she gave him a even stare instead. "I doubt that you would leave in any case, but one can try." She said, with a flip of her head. She wouldn't admit that he was right of course. To admit the truth, would be like an admission of defeat. No. She would not admit defeat to this stallion. The thought of it caused her to stiffen, though she had no idea as to why. It was a strange feeling to not know why one felt the way one did. But to her unexpected surprise, she was slowly becoming accustomed to it.. especially with Delsin. He asked far too many questions, and said too many things that disturbed her so.

Backing away from the stallion, her tail swished back and forth in an nervous manner, although she did her best not to display her anxiety at the situation. A part of her wished for the bleak darkness to return in where the silence consumed her thoughts until there was nothing more. But that would be impossible to achieve, if there was someone else there..

The stallions patience far outweighed her own, proving invincible against her barbed insults and sarcasm. If she continued to beat around the bush, they would be here for a long while, if not forever.

With a distracted tug at her mane, she turned to the stallion with a tired yet wary stare. "Let me get right to the point Delsin. What do you want?"

Gazing at her, Delsin noticed her silence and he thought maybe she was rationalizing and returning to her common sense. That would be a good thing and even better for him. He wanted to probe her more about her strange behavior but he knew when to stop before taking things too far. Though, he liked to push those limits. Delsin was pretty good at interpreting body language and it was clear to him that she was very uncomfortable. That was something that came with observing other soquili so much.

He couldn't help but grin at her question. "Even though you've attempted to belittle and anger me, I am but a lonely wandering stallion in search for company. You've only managed to spark my curiosity more and I crave to learn more about you." Delsin spoke only the truth and she probably understood that by now.

Eyes turned away, she struggled to maintain a clam facade while avoiding the stallion's eyes. She didn't doubt that he was able to see through her schemes, but one couldn't fault her for trying.

"I see." came the soft reply.

She offered no other words on the matter, save for a skeptical glance. Obviously, she didn't believe him. She couldn't see what interest anyone had in her, let alone Delsin. She could no longer remember back to those days, when she had been surrounded by those friends and family who loved her for who she was. When she looked back on the past, everyone was simply a blur of faces and colors.

She expected the same of Delsin.. but she doubted it would be the case. Unlike anyone she knew, Delsin's presence nagged at her like no other.

"So Delsin. What is it you want to know?"

Watching her carefully, Delsin was running through her possible reactions and he had already started judging how he was going to respond. As oblivious he was, he could see that she was getting tired of him. Though, this would not deter him. So, he wasn't too surprised when she responded to him and he already had an answer ready.

"What happened between you and your family?" Of course, he would pick a very broad and difficult question to answer. It didn't even occur to him that he might be prying into her personal life because she had asked him the question. She didn't place any restrictions on his question so he just asked whatever was on his mind. He guessed that this could be a long story but he didn't have anywhere else to be.

"What it is, is none of your business." Eden was quick to reply.

And it wasn't that she was tired of him-- she had no idea, how to deal with him. Having isolated herself in this forest, other soquili were rare to encounter. The few she had met, had been driven off by her rudeness, which had been perfectly fine by her.

But Delsin seemed to be immune to her rude remarks, and continued to persist in his efforts.. in getting to know her, she supposed. Though the very thought continued to perplex her. It didn't think to occur to her for one moment that Delsin's had a possible interest in her, nor would it ever, if she was left to her own devices.

Eyes averted from his gaze, "Why is it of any interest to you?" She said, her tone casual as if brushing away the topic.

Delsin was completely open about his life and it didn't occur to him that others might not be as willing to delve those kind of personal facts. He just wanted his questions answered and there were many of them swimming around in his head. Eden... intrigued him greatly because up to this point, he hadn't met someone so... unwilling to talk to him. He seemed to have this knack to get others to open up to him.

Frowning slightly at her response, Delsin accepted the answer... for now. "Alright. Well, it's interesting whether you believe it or not." Pausing, Delsin tried to figure out the proper response. "You are interesting and it seems like you're hurting. Have you ever tried talking to someone else?" Again he had to include more questions; Delsin couldn't help it and he hoped that she would give him an actual answer this time.
