Noah avoided eye contact with Cori. Looking away he tried to think of a way to explain everything. He didn't want to talk about it, but he didn't want to lie to her to leave her in the dark of things since she was part of it.
"Well, you know Janus and I share the same body. We are able to read each others thoughts, emotions and such, and well, having two people in the same body is hard. One wants to do one thing, but the other wants to do another and sometimes things don't work out well. Janus, he doesn't want me around you or vice versa. He says you are a destraction and getting in the way of things for him since I'm the one thinking about you and everything, so he wants you gone so things will go back to the way they were before. He wants my full attention and to be able to "Control" me again I guess."

Corentine frowned and stared at the ground. She sighed heavily as she tried to process everything.
She looked up at him again, her eyes full of compassion. "I'm sorry..."
She thought about the demand Janus had made her, to leave Noah alone, and never see him again. She didn't like it, and she didn't want to leave him. But she wondered if it would help Noah.
"Do...you want me gone too?"

Noah quickly looked back and Corentine as he shook his head vigorously.
"No no no! I don't want that! I don't...want you to leave. I. I have no reason to want you to, and, I mea, I care about you, and you make me happy, I don't want to lose that or you... I don't want to lose someone else again. Please say you won't leave."
Noha stared at Cori with sad pleading eyes. He didn't know what would happen if she decided to leave, even if she asked him if she should. It was true she did make him happy, a feeling he had not felt in such a long time. It had been years since he had felt anything positive.

Cori had to sit there and stare at him while she had to catch her breath - again. She hadn't been expecting him to say any of that. She had thought it would have just been better for him if she was out of his life, but then, she hadn't known how much he cared for her. She knew now, and she knew that she couldn't hurt him. No matter how much she was frightened by Janus, she made her mind that she would face him, no matter how many times it took, because she cared for Noah also. She wondered what, or who he had lost in the past, and it made her sad to think about his pain.
She closed the distance between them, and her compassionate eyes found his pleading eyes. Slowly, she reached out with her trembling paw and placed it lightly on his cheek.
"I won't leave. I promise. I care about you too, and I won't loose you either." It wasn't an option, of whether or not she might loose him. She had made it a statement. A fact. She wasn't going to loose him.

Noah slightly flinched as Corentine's touch. The demonic wasn't used to being touched so in a way it was kind of new for him. He slowly and carefully placed his hand on top of Corentine's. Closing his eyes he gave a content sigh as small smile found its way under his mask.
"Thank you Corentine. What shall we do now though?"

Cori smiled and sighed. Her quivering was barely noticeable now, although she was a bit cold. His touch made her feel warmer though, especially in her cheeks. She didn't know if he would notice.
"I don't know..." she started. "I guess...whatever we want...but...what shall we do...if...he comes back?"

Noah gave a slight frown at the question.
"I'm not too sure. You either run away or stand up to him. He want stop trying to get rid of you. I know that much, but maybe you can try to make yourself useful to him or get on his good side, if he has a good side..."
Truthfully, Noah really didn't know what to do about Janus. He could only hope things worked themselves out and life would be good to him this time around. Noah squeezed Cori's hand as he stared at her.
"Just...don't let him hurt you."

Cori laughed and squeezed his hand back.
"I don't think my chances would be very good if I tried to run away...but I'll try my best...to stand up to him...or to...do what I can..." she trailed off at the end, staring off into the distance, really trying to imagine what she could do. But after a second she shook the thoughts away.
"But let's think about now. What would you like to do?" She smiled at him, her eyes bright as she thought of the rest of the night with Noah.

Naoh didn't find much, or any amusement in the subject at all, so he was confused when Cori started laughing. He just guessed it was her way of dealing with fear or whatever she was feeling at the moment.
Noah scratched his head as he thought about Cori's question.
"I'm not too sure really. We could finish that walk we never finished, or it there is something you would like to do I don't mind."

She smiled and, still holding on to his hand, pulled him gently in the direction to continue down the path.
"Oh yeah, you said you knew a special place down this way, didn't you?" She was surprised she had remembered that much.

Noah stubbled and bit and followed and fairy female down the path. He thought about her question a bit before he actually remembered what she was talking about.
"Oh yes, the special place I was going to take you to. We are close to it actually, so it shouldn't take long to get there. Hopefully it will be a nice place tonight."
Noah smiled and tugged on Cori's hand as he took the lead and jogged down the path in the direction of the place.

Cori held his hand tightly as he led her, keeping her eyes focused on the ground, trying not to trip. Walking was fine, but her clumsiness really took over when she was doing anything other than walking. Not that it ever stopped her, she didn't mind falling that much, but she figured it would be pretty embarrassing with Noah there.

Noah stopped for a minute and studied the path. He looked around the light forest around the path way until he found what he was looking for.
"This way." Noah led them off the path way and towards a cave that was hidden in the forest. He stopped and turned towards Cori.
"The place I want to take you is on the other side of this cave. It may take a while to walk all the wat through, but it is mostly safe, as long as you stay on the right path..."

Cori stared at the cave with curiosity as they approached it. It was dark, and something like this should probably send shivers down her spine, but she figured what had faced her earlier was nothing compared to a little cave. In fact, the cave fascinated her in a way. She turned and grinned at him.
"It'll be fine. I'll stay with you, no worries."

Noah nodded as he entered the cave pulling Cori along with him. A good portion of the first part of the walk was very dark. The noises of the small creatures that called the cave home could be heard through the darkness. Noah would stop every now and then when a creature ran across the cave floor. Soon, small lights started to appear in the cave and grew in number as the came closer to the end. The lights, the fire flies and crystals, glowed in colors of bright blues, purples, pinks and greens.
Noah stared at the lights before looking down at Cori as hey continued on. "We should be there soon. The light is growing and I think I see what I wanted to show you."
