I very much agree with that. They should of done a Beast Wars comic ages ago.

I think having it come out on the 10th anniversary is kind of neat. And I'm glad they have a good team assembled. If a comic had come out earlier but with a crappy team on it I'm sure we wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much.

To be fair, there have been Beast Wars comics... they've just all been convention exclusives, is all. stare

I recall the Megatron (gator) vs. Optimus Primal (bat) 2 pack had a comic as well.

Yeah, but that wasn't very good. It also set the Beast Wars in the modern age, and Optimus Primal was the original G1 Matrix-baring leader of the Autobots. Funnily enough, I think the croc verson of Megatron remains to be my personal favorate incarnation of this character, believe it or not. Wasn't there a purple version in Japan? I wonder if these two figures will feature in the new comic at all? Perhaps they shall be the new leaders of each respective action, just appearing under new names...

Check out the 12 page Beast Wars #1 preview from IDW's forum HERE! I thought it was awsome how they included Leo Convoy and Big Convoy in there.

I loved it too. There were a couple other cameos of Japanese BW figures, like the trilobyte one. surprised

I saw this a little while ago now (having contacts is great!), and I must say that I am very impressed. 3nodding It doesn't look as if IDW will be running with the Dreamwave take on Magmatron, though... which is a bit of a shame, especially since the entire creative staff from that ill-fated project is on board for this production, but never mind. I also have the unedited cover of issue #2 on file, which looks just as good. This should be one sweet mini-series. biggrin

Especially since Torca shows up. Dude, I always liked him.

Just picked up issue one yesterday and I liked it a lot! Higlight for spoilers! --->Torca was my second favorite Fuzor next to Silverbolt and seeing Optimus Minor showing up eatting a banana was cute. Spittor being crushed by Polar Claw was just hilarious. They seem to intend to include every single Beast Wars character that never made it into the series and it's nice to see them in the spot light for this comic series. Can't wait to see how everything unfolds.

I'm pretty sure they ARE going to include all of the figures that didn't make it. I saw a picture done by the same people before the comic was shown, and Magmatron, all of them, all the way down to PowerPinch (Who I thought was kind of cool, even if he was just an earwig bug)

But from the picture I don't know who the leader will be. Torca, maybe, he was pointing from the back like a leader would XD

My bet was on Optimus Minor as the leader, but Torca could definitly fill that role. I saw the picture you were talking about. It's one of the variant covers. xd
