Okies, I read fanfiction that is focused almost entirely on the adult nins (as far as pairings goes anyways, cos the kids do appear in most of them). I have read a lot of good Naruto fiction in my time but I'll just link you to a few of my faves. If you like their work then click on their profile page cos there's bound to be more high quality stuff.

First off is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2363743/1/ - Butterfly in Reverse by my good online friend, Bite. It is an awesome fic and has many different pairings, characters, genres and well, it's just pretty epic really. I thoroughly recommend this one to all.

Secondly, there's http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2329033/1/ - Look! Look! by Meleth, which is pure, smutty humour. It focuses mainly on KakaIru and GenRai. Very well written and extremely funny.

Next we have http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2263535/1/ - Homecoming by Nezuko, which is another KakaIru, GenRai, but on an altogether more serious note. Extremely well written, in great detail and just a little gory. I implore you to check out her other main story 'It's Nothing' as it's equally well written and gory.

And finally, I shall put forward http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2378745/1/ - Tryin' to get to heaven by Hey-Diddle-Diddle. It is about trench warfare between leaf and sound and has a lot of angst, gore and death in it. Only read it if you can deal with severe angst, lol. Very very good though. I recommend any of Kiki's fics.

Oh and http://www.fanfiction.net/~AlanaQuinn is my profile page in case you wanted to bother reading my measly 2 chapters so far of my ko!KakaIru fic. I'm just a really slow writer ^^; There's also tons more fics and authors you can check out in my faves lists.
