Part I – The Sentinel
Player: bluekoinu Name:Tassle Nicknames: Tas Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: fledgling Hatch Date:10/06/2008 Type:Deep Woods Task:n/a Personality:Tassle or as some of his close friends call him, Tas, is an easy going sentinel. He never bothers himself with details like feather colors and other such nonsense; if you have a good joke or story then you’re a friend in his eyes. Being a little laid back, and never in a rush, he is late almost all the time but that’s all right for him, he wasn’t in a hurry anyways. Tassle has a fondness for plants and enjoys collecting flowers or colourful leaves and bringing them back to the enclave. He has dried out flowers all over his roosting area much to the puzzlement and annoyance to his minders. History: Born to Honeysuckle and Sanguine he was one of three in their clutch. Surrendered to the minders he has yet to meet his parents. He enjoys spending time with the minders and is very open to learning what they teach him. Tassle is talented and a quick learner, his potential for his future contributions to the clan are limitless. Territory:the minder's enclave Mate:n/a Companions:eventually he would like one Certificate:
Quote: You'll need to use the font size and formatting from the form on the first page, and also use the cert image hosted on the noctua.ca server.
Other than that I have no complaints. He seems like a fledgling with a lot of potential. Cute with a summer baby who likes to pick flowers and leaves from the trees. Blue might have some comments too. I can't seem to find the certs new address location, just the one that I got in the pickups location. I went to the image host above and it says "no peeking"Quote: Right... the server change... The certs are located here: http://www.noctua.ca/certs/ Great thanks, I'll change Fable's cert as well.Quote: I have no further comments then, he's approved.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Chikagi Name: Emberhold Nicknames: Ember, The Fire Watcher Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult, has seen many fires. Hatch Date: 25th of October Type: Wildtype Task: Watcher Personality: Emberhold is a dedicated and devoted Watcher, she takes it upon herself to warn others and help in any way she can. Ember is thoughtful and though her particular profession brings her heartache, she does her best to keep others from experiencing the destruction of fires. History: In Noctua, the cycle of life progresses through the forest the same as any other. The cycle of the forest continues with the death of old trees and the blessing of new saplings, but a fact of the forest will always be fire. Emberhold is the watcher of fires, she keeps a keen eye throughout the forest, monitoring them from a safe distance and collecting information from other watchers. She pays close attention to brittle areas that would become easy targets for a lightning-conceived fire and warns the Sentinels in the area to be prepared.
Ember wasn't raised with a particular zeal for monitoring fires, her parents naming her instead based on her plumage. Her beginnings were nothing extra-ordinary, and she passed on into adult-hood without incident. She had maintained close ties with her family and had just received news that her mother's next brood had hatched. Four beautiful hatchlings, all demanding food.
Emberhold assisted her parents whenever possible, occasionally bringing a plump mouse to them before heading over to her own territory. This continued for only a few moonrises, when one evening a lightning storm sparked a fire in her parent's territory. Living nearby, Emberhold rushed to aid them in moving the hatchlings, but by the time she arrived the flames had nearly consumed the entire area. They could not escape and Emberhold fled half-blind through the forest from the smoke.
Now Ember collects and monitors information on dry forest conditions from other Watchers, tirelessly doing her best to prevent what happened to her family from happening to others. Territory: She remains near her family's old territory, northeast of the clearing. Mate: None Companions: Cinder the Parus Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Cinder Species: Parus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 2 Intelligence: 4 Skill: He aids Emberhold in warning and collecting information about fires.Quote: I have one tiny nitpick. Hatchlings does not remain hatchlings for "a few months". Either change chicks to fledglings or change the timeframe between hatching and incident. Other than that it's good! The term moons was used to mimic the way we use sunrises. I could change it to nights if you'd like?Quote: Perhaps moonrises would work better since "moons" are usually used as a synonym to months. Fixed! <3

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Aurrie Beaues Name: Foxfeather Nicknames: Fox Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: May 15th Type: Deep Woods Task: Watcher Personality: Foxfeather is a smug creature that takes great pride in his lineage and was at one point determined to bring a sense of pride to his parents. He still has the urge to bring a sense of pride, but more to himself than the two Deep Woods who raised him. Because of the history of his family in combatant tasks and his father's rank as Elite, there was an expectancy of him that he could never seem to fulfill, which led more to resentment of them.
To this day he still wants to achieve a high enough rank in the clan to promote respect and reverence, yet it is more for his own benefit and to prove that he has potential.
There are aspects to his personality that still linger from his days with his parents and the most prominent is his lack of tolerance for any sentinel deemed "different." He despises all aberrants and the little Specter chick that is living in the midst of the Forest. History: Foxfeather was born into a long line of Deep Woods sentinels, a line which prided themselves on the purity of the blood of their offspring and ancestors. Each sentinel that he could be traced to served as warriors and defenders to the clan and fought through the Great Clan Wars. Foxfeather wanted, more than anything, to emulate his father, Dogwood. Dogwood served a Watcher turned Ranger turned Elite, and he expected the same from his only son, until he passed away. His mother, Emberfeather, expected much the same. She, too, served as a watcher for a while before she took on the task of a Ranger. She took a small "break" from her task as a Ranger to raise their son, who received a large amount of buckling pressure to live up to their standards and expectations.
Since his graduation, Foxfeather has had little contact with his parents, yet he still retains most of the ideals that they had instilled within him during his hatchling and fledgling days. The Deep Woods type was second only to that of the Wildtype. All others were filthy aberrants. As he made his way through sentinel society, this belief began to waver where Mist and Shadow sentinels were concerned, especially after he met Sly, who he held in higher regards than either Dogwood or Emberfeather. He still has difficulty in viewing those of the Ghost type as anything but an aberrant, though his being an acquaintance with Stormbringer is gnawing away at this once firmly held belief. He has grown to admire Stormbringer, too, and wishes to gain the respect of both the Ghost and the Shadow acquaintances.
Foxfeather is still young and impressionable, but his parents and his current chosen "friends" have more or less determined the personality he will hold for most of his life.
He found himself yearning to be a Ranger since fledglinghood to impress his father, but as of late has discovered that he enjoys his task as Watcher. While Sly is busy hunting and Stormbringer is off around the borders, he can stay about the forest, observing all he can to report to them.
Territory: In the forest just outside of Deep Woods, near the Swift Open River. He has his own small grove, where he tends to stay, unless he is with Stormbringer or being a nosy Watcher. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Tick Species: Chirop Age: Adult Speech Ability: 3 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Tick serves Foxfeather as a faithful companion and adores his owner, although the sentinel looks down on him as nothing more than a rodent worker that will be eaten once it is too old to serve.Quote: There are some leftover colour tags, other than that it's good.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: giftwrapped Name: Brightling Nicknames: Brye Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young adult Hatch Date: 11 March Type: Wildtype Task: Bard Personality: Bright and clever, often absentminded, with a vivid fledgling’s imagination, Brightling is a Sentinel who is never really going to grow up. She is extremely fond of playing games with the fledglings and entertaining them, and she is often much more comfortable with little ones than she is with adults. A true bard to the core, Brightling adores being the center of attention, which explains why her bardic performances are always so unusual. Not particularly gifted at singing or the writing of poetry or lyrics, she prefers very physical performances but lacks the grace necessary to ever be a Skydancer. What Brightling does have is Will. She’s not exceptional in this area (she will never be mistaken for a Mystic), but neither is she bad, and thus, juggling has become her forte. Mostly because other Sentinels think it’s ridiculous. She’s also an avid storyteller and loves having an audience in her grips. She exaggerates things ridiculously.
The eternal optimist, she’s the laugh-instead-of-cry type and often makes light of situations that probably shouldn’t be made light of. She makes fun of herself as often as she makes fun of others. Socially, she has few inhibitions. She tends to get clingy very quickly in relationships. Brightling has a tendency to get in other Sentinels’ personal space and make comments that can be easily misconstrued into flirtatiousness. Usually, she is being playful and not suggestive.
She loves meeting new Sentinels, and is always eager to watch and learn things. She has a tendency to speak in rhythm and call others by flowery (and sometimes silly) nicknames immediately after meeting them, and is generally not perceptive to social cues. Her somewhat obnoxious sense of humour has gotten her in trouble before, but Brightling never seems to mind and spends much of what would otherwise be free time trying to talk her way out of situations she accidentally got herself into.
History: Brightling was born to a respectable Minder and Gatherer, the fourth egg of a four-egg clutch who was given up to the Minders because her parents couldn’t have raised all of her siblings. Minder-raised, she was the sort of charming trouble-fledgling that somehow always seemed to talk her way out of the worst situations, and somehow ended up the favourite of everyone except her actual Minder. Even as a barely-fledged youngling, she managed to get herself into trouble whenever her Minder’s back was turned, with the typical “falling-out-of-trees” only the start. As she got bigger, somehow the trouble only expanded. She was the fledgling who never seemed to learn from her mistakes but somehow never managed to get hurt when she did stupid things. Perhaps it was natural good sense or innate ability: certainly, she learned to fly and hunt on schedule, and her Will was quite well-developed for a fledgling.
Brightling’s mind tended to wander, and the only things that could attract her attention sufficiently were stories—those, she could sit and listen to for hours. Her short attention span was not enough to be debilitating, but generally enough to infuriate all who tried to teach her. Not considered a promising combatant, and definitely not a good Watcher, she was gently guided toward the softer tasks, particularly that of barding. Brightling was made to be a bard. She would show up outrageously late to lessons with a fantastic (and completely invented) excuse. And as she grew, so grew the stories and the language she used to tell them. In short, nobody was surprised when she decided to become a Bard upon graduation. Nor were they surprised when Brightling was back among the little ones within days of her graduation, singing to the fluffs or telling a story to the fledglings.
She acquired the Parus on her own, trading a full night’s hunting for the silly thing and doting on it until it became hers unconditionally. The bells were a Graduation gift from her parents, and her dye was a gift from her Minder-raised sister, who became an artisan.
Territory: Brightling’s territory is small and tends to shift somewhat in size and shape; she has restless wings. Currently, it’s a reasonably small territory with three large conifers, one of which has an old hollow in which she keeps her supplies and occasionally roosts, on the western outskirts of the Deep Woods. Brightling makes a point to identify her roosting tree; there is always a small bundle of a few bright primaries (and occasionally a bell) hung from one of the higher branches.
She loves fledglings and fluffs. If she’s not at home, check the Minders’ enclave. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Flickerwing Species: Parus Age: Young adult Speech Ability: 1 Intelligence: 4 Skill: Flickerwing is not a big talker and when she does speak, most of the things she says are nonsense words that Brightling has taught her. Mostly, she is good at singing very prettily on command, often in harmony with Brightling. She is clever enough to work as a bit of a stage hand in her owner’s juggling acts, however. She definitely has the intelligence to move things around and understand subtle commands or covert signals, but little more. She is, in essence, an ornament.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Meepfur Name: Oakbark Nicknames: Absolutely not. Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 11/01/200? Type: Deep Woods Task: Ranger Personality: Oakbark is not only fiercely independent, but downright fierce. Testy and bullheaded, she's a prickly sort who's practically impossible to get close to; well, that's not entirely true - you'd just have to put up with her for long enough, which would be no small feat. It's not so much that she dislikes company...she's just, to put it tactfully, socially inept. She voices her thoughts as soon as they cross her mind, and they're usually not what someone wants to hear. Blunt though she is, that same trait lends itself well to her brutal honesty. No matter how difficult she is to get along with, she is steadfastly reliable with a black-and-white sense of right and wrong. If something needs doing, she can be counted on to do it, and do it right the first time. History: Though she has family, Oakbark rarely sees them. They find her just as hard to get along with as everyone else! Territory: Oakbark makes her small home at the eastern border of the Cold forest, wedged between the Sparkle River and the mountains. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Chirop Species: Chirop Age: Young Speech Ability: 4 Intelligence: 3 Skill: Oakbark uses her Chirop as a messenger - a disposable messenger. She never bothers to actually name her Companions, calling them simply by what they are, and she goes through them at a worrying rate. Sooner or later, usually during a fit of annoyance, she eats them.

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Rakni Soup Name: Moonless Nicknames: Moon, Less, Mole (By close friends) Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult Hatch Date: 31/8 Type: Shadow Task: Watcher Personality: Moonless likes to sneak around and does not interact with other Sentinels often, preferring to watch from the shadows. When he does inevitably talk to someone, he more often than not addresses the person with his or her name without being properly introduced, and then fails to defend himself when asked “How do you know my name?”. He is an insidious person who knows everything about everyone, at least if you ask him, but he does take his job very seriously and endeavors to gather as much knowledge as possible. Sometimes he even forgets to hunt for himself since he's been watching something particularly interesting. History: Moonless was raised by loving parents who doted on him and taught him all the values of Sentinel life and instilled a deep respect for the law into him. However, where his parents were quite willing to simply live life alongside the clan and mind their Crafting tasks, Moonless wanted to press the virtues of Sentinel life on other Sentinels. Or at least ensure that they followed the laws set down by the Brigadier and as such, Watcher life came easily to him. Now he has an excuse (and indeed, a duty!) to know as much about everyone as possible. Territory: A small territory inside the Deep Woods, easily defendable and strategically placed to be able to reach many gathering points as quickly as possible. Mate: None Companions: Yes Certificate:

Part II – Companions
Name: Sneaky, Stalker Species: Mus, Mus Age: Adult, Adult Speech Ability: 4,5 Intelligence: 4,5 Skill:Stalker is Moonless most prized companion and has been with him since he was a fledgling. With his relatively keen mind and dark coloring, he is as natural a stalker as Moonless is and is rarely at his master's side. Instead he watches on his own and reports to his master when something interesting happens. Sneaky is the same color as Stalker and Moonless, but is a bit more stumbling and not as good at sneaking. Moonless keeps him anyway, since the little mus might come in handy in case Moonless suddenly needs an emergency dinner, but for now Sneaky is learning from Stalker. Quote: Two tiny nitpicks, fix them and he's good to go. So... Did I get 'em? Grrrrrrreat! mrgreen

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Meepfur Name: Dustfall Nicknames: Fall Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Fledgling Hatch Date: 10/09/2008 Type: Aberrant (Ghost/Deep Woods) Task: N/A Personality: Dustfall is a mopey, unhappy fledgling, though he wants for nothing in life. He's shaping up to be one of those individuals who's just pessimistic by nature, and perhaps even a little lazy. After all, if it's not going to go well anyway, why bother? History: One of seven children from Birchfall and Dustfeather's second clutch, Dustfall is one of the two the couple is raising themselves. So far, this little Aberrant has no idea that he's anything strange, and it will stay that way as long as his mother has a say in the matter. Territory: Lives with his parents in the mixed forest, just across the Swift Open River from the Deep Woods. Mate: None Companions: None Certificate:

Quote: Just one thing! "After all, if it's not going to end badly anyway, why bother?" Are you sure this sentence is what you were aiming for? Haha, oops. XD "Going to end badly" and "not going to go well" ran together. Fixed!Quote: Hehe, figured as much. But I found a little typo, too: "He's shaping up to be on of those." Yes, I know. I'm terribly nitpicky. But I like the character and the possible conflict coming from not knowing of the anti-aberrant sentiments! *thubs-up* Ooh, a thubs-up! Heeh, sorry...couldn't resist. xP Anyway, fixed.Quote: Oh, you're gonna be like THAT, are you? Well, see if I look for any more typos for YOU, then. razz j/k. Approved!

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Dark Fire Angel Name: Silos Nicknames: -- Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Fledgling Hatch Date: 22/09/2008 Type: Wildtype Task: N/A (Will aim to become a Chirop keeper in the future) Personality: Laid back by nature, cheerful and perhaps a bit of a smart-a**; sadly, he's unable to pull it off with the grace needed for others to take him seriously. Slightly awkward in that while he seems willing to please others, he (again), lacks grace and ends up sticking his proverbial foot in his mouth. Fun loving, with a knack for jokes, Silos seems to enjoy others' company and doesn't take things all too seriously for now; a squabble with this Sentinel will be as good as forgotten within a few minutes (at least on his side). Altogether sweet, even if he can be stubborn and unwilling to see reason when he believes he is in the right. History: Minder raised; Silos has no clue as to whom his parents are. Despite this, he seems to be perfectly okay with the fact, happy to live day by day, for he believes that while he can not change history, he can change the future to the best of his abilities. Territory: Minder's enclave Mate: None Companions: None (yet XD) Certificate:

Quote: Looks good. Interesting character. But you do know that it's perfectly normal to be completely minder-raised, right? It's nothing that you really need to change in your form, I'm just curious. Yup! I know it's perfectly normal, but I figure some kids might have more trouble with it than others; I wanted to point out this boy is perfectly, 120% happy about it XD As far as he knows, more sentinels to be with and more fledgelings to play with. Quote: Great. ^_^ He's a neat little guy. I like him. Oh, and I found two little items: "he's unable to pull it with the grace needed" I think you want "...pull it off with..." instead. And his territory should be in the Minders' enclave, not their enclove. But that's really all I have. ....woops. *FIXES THAT* <<; I hadn't noticed that! Thank you <3

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Dark Fire Angel Name: Honeystorm Nicknames: Honey, Hon, Kepi Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Fledgling Hatch Date: 10/09/2008 Type: Wildtype Task: N/A (Will aim to become a bard in the future) Personality: Born the only female of a clutch of seven eggs and it soon enough became quite clear to her parents that they weren't going to be able to tend all the ever-hungry chicks. Honeystorm and her siblings were thus sent off to the minders' enclave to be raised. Somehow, the fact that she spent most of her time with her male siblings seems to have affected her; the small female is a bit of a tomboy, happily unaware of why she might differ from her siblings. Sweet, affectionate, naive and much too trusting for her own good. In fact, one could tell her the sky turns purple on certain days and she'd be inclined to believe them. It's not that she's stupid, or unintelligent, for she has a tendency to offer small bits of rather insightful knowledge when she seems inclined to do so. Or rather... when she's able to concentrate on something for more than two seconds. She is flawed in that she's easily distracted, happy to watch a passing butterfly and lose complete track of whatever it was she was doing. Amusingly enough, she is musically inclined, and when she's coaxed into actually paying attention, this small female can prove to be pretty athletic. At least... as athletic and agile as a fledgling can be (which isn't saying a lot, in all honesty). History: Minder raised due to the fact that her parents were unable to deal with her and her six other siblings while also keeping up with their respective jobs. Honey's short life so far has been full of songs; her trusting personality make her quite the odd little fuzzball, happy to explore and drive her Minders (and anyone else willing to listen), up the proverbial wall. Territory: Minder's enclave Mate: None Companions: None (yet XD) Certificate:

Quote: Um, actually, I think you shold look through this one a few more times... You've got a few rather odd commas in there, and some slightly awkward grammar. PM the Herald if you want specifics, or post in the "assistance and suggestions" -thread in the Library.
She's got a sweet personality, though. ^_^ There, I think I fixed everything - I changed the male part we talked about. Basically, I just meant she stuck around her male sibs most of the time, and became a bit of a tomboy from playing with them, I guess. I dunno XD something like that. Thanks for the help, by the way. Greatly appreciated. Quote: Oh goodness, I think I might have missed that part about her being the only female of the clutch, before... Well, nonetheless, this looks a lot better now. I have nothing further to add. She's approved!

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Dolly_Llama Name: Atticus Nicknames: Addy Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Adult/Middle Aged Hatch Date: October, 30th Type: Deep Woods Task: Bard Personality: Atticus is what people might describe as an "old soul", in that he seems to understand things that usually only come from a lot of experience and old age. Some sentinels would call him wise, though Atticus doesn't agree. He is rather modest. For the most part, he is jovial and approachable, a good sentinel to go to talk to. However, he has periods of time where he prefers to be alone. No one knows why, but usually, he is respectfully left alone. History: Atticus grew up with loving parents. His father was a successful Teacher, and his mother was a Bard. He learned talents from both of them, and he took to Barding very naturally. He was a very successful Bard in his "glory days" and he loved to travel, but more recently, he has volunteered to be both a pseudo-Teacher and Minder to the young Sentinels. He delights them with tall tales and stories of the past, though he is often called upon by other adults for his story-telling talents as well. Territory: Atticus has a singularly individual home that is made up of two trees growing in the Deep Woods that grew too close together when they were saplings. As they grew, their branches and trunks twined around each other, making for a quite habitable and cheerful home. He often has visitors, and it is an open and airy living, that has some lower levels for the privacy of an old bachelor. Mate: No Companions: Yes Certificate:
Part II – Companions
Name: Finch Species: Mus Age: Adult Speech Ability: 5 Intelligence: 5 Skill: Finch, a rather oddly named Mus, takes after his companion Atticus in that he is known as a rather good story-teller in his own right. Granted, he cannot "spin words" the way that the sentinels can, but he has written several of his own simple stories that Atticus has adapted and which he uses to amuse hatchlings.Quote: Atticus seems like such a lovely sentinel! ...And personally, I just LOVE the idea of his storytelling little Mus. SUCH cuteness! However, they'd have to be pretty simple stories - Not even the most intelligent Mus can be quite as intelligent as a sentinel, after all - but in my opinion, that just adds to the cuteness.
Now, I'm just not too sure about some of your formulations, here. His 'personality'-part is particularly awkward, with him being an old soul, but not old, but soon old... And I'm not sure I get what you mean by "the 'inner-workings' of the world. A little clarification might help, there. Also, this part: "Usually he is left to himself, out of respect." would probably look a bit better as "Usually, he is respectfully left to himself"
Look over the 'personality'-bit and see if you can smoothen it out a bit more, make it more accessible. Thank you! I rewrote that and I hope that it works better now. <3Quote: Wow, good job! I have no further comments, he's approved! Looking forward to seeing him out and about in Noctua!

Part I – The Sentinel
Player: Meepfur Name: Pidge Nicknames: Crinkleleaf (alias), Crin Species: Sentinel of Noctua Age: Young Adult Hatch Date: 18/02/2008 Type: Aberrant (Deep Woods/Ghost) Task: Watcher Personality: Soft-spoken and shy, Pidge is a sweet Sentinel with serious self-esteem issues. Being a 'freak' embarrassed by her appearance has taken its toll on her, resulting in a withdrawn young Watcher. Her dearest wish is to be normal; she hopes that, in blending in, she will find the confidence she has so far lacked. History: Impressionable, over-sensitive Pidge has bought wholly into the idea that Aberrants are freaks, but recently hatched a plan to overcome her own appearance by having her feathers dyed. Thanks to a sympathetic Artisan, she now looks like a proper Deep Woods - barring close inspection, of course. To complete the transformation, she has had her eye color changed as well, to make herself that much less recognizable...just in case. Hoping for a new life as a 'normal' Sentinel, she's also left her old territory in the NotCold Forest, and assumed a new name. Territory: Pidge/Crin has adopted a new territory in the Cold reaches of the forest, just large enough to support one Sentinel. Mate: None Companions: None Certificate:
 Undyed
Quote: I... really can't think of anything... well, except perhaps that it is a bit on the brief side. If you'd like, you could expand her history a bit by talking about her youth - did she live with her parents? At a Minders' enclave? Was she brutally bullied or just generally put down a lot? Is there perhaps someone in particular that she's "hiding" from? If you'd rather keep her past a secret for now, then you don't really have to change anything. I'm just curious to know if you've thought about any of these things, yourself. Pretty much just keeping it tucked away to stew in my head for now :3.Quote: Alrighty then. Approved she is!
