Galaxia almost laughed as he went into the meaning of his name and the reason why he had been given that name. Personally she could care less what others named meant and could never understand why they had to tell others what their name meant anyways. It was stupid and unneeded. A name was a name. "I could really care less what your name means or why you were named that."
Watching him as he settled himself down in the dandelions, her gaze quickly turned away to stare off at the sun as it made it's way further into the west. Well, trash deserved to lay with trash after all.
"Quit calling me princess my little trash pile and I might. Though I've never been good with sharing, so your pretty much just picking up scraps like a dog." The mare's reply was quick and monotone. She really didn't want the company she had now. And in the back of her mind wished a Unicorn would just happen to wander by so she could get rid of him. Not like she was going to expend HER energy trying to find one for him. She just wasn't that merciful or willing to help others.

Vartan stretched his back like a cat, and cracked his neck to make sure that the joints wouldn't cramp. The initial sting of his wound was fading into a dull, throbbing ache, and the mare was still prattling about trash. He could tell that it was going to be a long night.
Feh. Vartan should be thankful that it wasn't anyone perky. He didn't think he could deal with perky right now, never mind intentional flirtation. Vartan would never understand most mares. At least a golden hoof to the flank was a message that he could easily grasp, even if he chose not to heed it. Why couldn't more females be forward? He hated the endless back-and-forth of girlish playfulness. It made him feel like he was forever standing on shifting sands.
"You're pretty damn defensive, Galaxia. Could it be that- oh, hell, I get it," he said, all full of masculine smugness now that he felt he'd figured the Princess out. "You're one of those stallion-hating types, jilted by a lover."
Pfft. If that was the case... it was pretty weak.
((Do you mind if I PM you, Yayoi? I a couple have ideas for ways this RP could go that are a little more exciting than sitting around, but I want to run them past you. XD))

((Yea sure thats fine. XD))
Oh yes, she'd certainly make it a long night for him. Galaxia wasn't about to just let anyone hang around her home without some sort of consequence to the action. Whatever pain that she had felt from his bite to her shoulder had dulled completely. The best way to deal with pain was to ignore it if you could. Mind over matter. Its how she kept herself going in fights. If you ignored it then it would not hinder you. Apparently this stallion didn't have the same thinking and whoever had taught him to fight had not told him this. At least she could assume anyway.
An ear turned towards him as he began to speak once more. An even more sour look washing over her face. "If that is what you believe than you are entirely wrong. I have my reasons for the way I am, but it certainly does not center around any stallion. Nor would it ever be about any stallion." She hated his smugness. His whole 'know it all' attitude full of assumptions.

"Oh, really?" Vartan arched a single dark brow. "Thankfully, I don't give a damn about your life story."
The stallion's blood was finally clotting, and he had settled into the greenery without too much of a fuss. The sun was low. This place would be dark, soon, all full of slithering life and night-time noises. Vartan was thankful that the ache would keep him awake. He wasn't about to let himself get attacked again without striking back twice as hard.
"Though you can feel free to enlighten me, if you think it'll make you less of a b***h."

"Then quit asking questions if you don't care about it." Her tail twitched. Mostly in annoyance. By now her blood was still boiling. She hated the fact that he'd just trapsed into her home. Made himself comfortable. And was STILL there. Galaxia hated him.
A smirk came to her lips once again as she turned her head away from him, stretching her neck lightly and giving her head a light shake. Lowering her chin to her chest, she closed her eyes. An ear still turned towards him. She wasn't at all worried about him attacking her. From the way she saw it he was too weak at the moment to even try or else he would have. "Better a b***h than a princess."

In spite of the pain of his injury, Galaxia hadn't severed any tendons or destroyed significant muscle mass. Vartan certainly could have stalked up to her and tried to take a hit if he so chose. But he was tired, and besides, it was becoming inscreasingly clear that hanging around was a much better revenge than bite marks and hoofprints ever could be. The mare was so twitchy that he had to smirk to himself.
"Yeah, yeah. Then I'm glad you've simmered down," he drawled, letting his own eyes flutter closed. "It's cute when you're trying to insult me, but I don't care what you think, either, so you you might as well shelve the attitude."
Mmm. That fading sunlight was awfully nice, and the dandelion fluff was soft against his belly. If he was lucky, the Princess would shut up for long enough that he could enjoy it.

Her cheeks puffed out and she released the air inside them with a harsh breath as he said cute. Cute certainly wasn't a word in Galaxia's vocabulary and probably never would be. But again, she knew he only did it to egg her on. And she bit her tongue hard to keep from saying anything.
The skies were darkening and how she had wished that tonight would be yet another solitary one. Even his breathing annoyed her. Her tail flopped against the ground as she let her mind slip into a half sleep. The mare had always been a light sleeper. You never knew who could just sneak up on you while you dozed the night away.

The warmth of sunlight faded. Bright day receded gently into twilight. Vartan couldn't be sure when he managed to fall asleep. Chirping crickets and the Princess' shallow breathing had combined into a strange, arrhythmic lullaby, making it easier to give in to his fatigue than he'd thought possible.
The stallion did not often dream, but that night his thoughts ran free over the landscape of his mind. Always chasing, never resting, searching for a mirage on the horizon. Trees grew thick and lush around him, threatening to trap his legs in the whorls of their roots. Flowers withered at the tips of his hooves, horns sprouted from his brows, and he had the awful, abhorrent feeling that he was about to lift up off the ground, when-
He woke to the sound of flies buzzing around his flanks and the sticky feeling of pus oozing down the muscular contours of his left thigh. Light filtered through the tree-tops and birds chirped out their business. It was already morning.
Vartan tried to flex his leg and was immediately forced to bite back a groan of agony. Fury sparked in his pale eyes as he realized what must have happened. He wasn't sure if he was angrier at the mare, for lashing out under foolish pretenses, or at himself, for letting her wound him while he was exhausted.
"Hey!" He barked at the still-sleeping form of his new companion. "Rise and shine, Princess."

As the sun rose higher into the morning sky, a small beam of sunlight shone upon Galaxia's face. How annoying. She clenched her eyelids tightly shut, trying to blow out the sunlight that tried to get through, curling her head closer to her body.
But her sleep was soon cut short by the sound of a barked order to get up. And she was less than eager to do so. Taking her time, she let out a small yawn. Stretched out her legs and gave her head a quick shake to chase away the sleepiness from her eyes. Still a bit groggy, her eyes slipped open partially as she turned her head towards him. "Huh, your still here. I'd of hoped the wolves had dragged you away in the night. Pity. Guess they don't like your stink."

Vartan's lips pulled back in a parody of a bright grin. The dark hue of his muzzle made his teeth look impossibly white, and his incisors looked almost sharp enough to tear into flesh. But that must be trick of the light. Mustn't it? No regular Soquili would bare fangs like a common dog.
"Oh, were you still not awake?"
He raised his head up off the ground so as to get a better look at the mare. Flecks of sunlight shone in her spun-gold hair, and a hellfire flashed in her angry crimson eyes. Vartan supposed that the Princess was very pretty. Not that he cared about s**t like that.
"I'm moving in now. So you can get used to being less lazy."
Birds sang. Leaves rustled. The stallion paused for a heartbeat.
"Congratulations."
((I'm sorry that took so long! A lot of RL drama cropped up over the weekend.))

Moving in? Bah! Not if she had anything to say about it. "Oh well I guess that makes me the mommy and you the daddy. Suppose we should bump uglies and get some little ones about. Ya know. Just so people don't get ideas. I can't pop out babies like a good little mare without a stallion around now can I?"
Her tail shifted ever so slightly as a small breeze blew past while she lifted herself off the ground, giving her entire body this time a small shake. Eyes glancing off towards the sun as she calculated in her mind how late in the day it was. Not too late. Good. Galaxia hated sleeping in late. Less time to do other things when your sawing logs. Glancing down at him again, a small sneer appeared quickly onto her lips. "Congratulations on what? That I have a sniveling little colt in my midst who refuses to leave?"

"Wait. You think I'm-"
She thought he was coming on to her?
Vartan didn't- he wasn't-
He liked mares, as opposed to stallions, but romancing once had never crossed his mind. When he thought of spewing all that crap Ishmael came up with at anyone, let alone Galaxia-
This was the most hilarious thing he'd heard all month.
"Hah!"
Vartan usually tried to avoid laughing. Their family already had one obnoxious giggler, and hell if he was going to act like his girly freak of a brother. His work was not not frikking funny. But something about the flash of consternation on Galaxia's severe muzzle made him chuckle in spite of himself.
"It's nice to know that I've been on your mind, but you really shouldn't flatter yourself, Princess."
Vartan waited until his cnuckle faded into a snigger, before arching his neck to indicate the foul ooze running from the wound on his leg.
"Do you believe in karma? Because you brought this on yourself. Like it or not, I'm not going anywhere."
And he'd have a hell of a time keeping the predators off, if she chose to leave him by himself. Vartan would simply have to make do. He was too proud to ask any another Soquili for help. Especially this one.

"No, I believe you shouldn't flatter yourself. Obviously sarcasm is NOT one of your strong points. Giving it or picking it up." Her eyes rolled heavily this time. What an idiot. If he thought that she cared in any way about him he was dead wrong. She cared about no one. Well, one person. And that was herself. Everyone else could rot in the ground for all she cared. "Who the hell would wanna stick around with you long enough to have kids anyway."
What a dolt.
Her gaze shifted slightly at the wound on his leg. Giving it an uncaring glance. "Mmmm, no. You brought it on yourself. Because you see...I can just leave you here for all the troubles you've given me. Because I still have good use of my legs. A new home wouldn't be hard to find and once something comes along and eats you and can come right back." She flicked her tail. "Well sounds like a plan to me."

Heh. So defensive. It really didn't take much to rile this mare up. Was her ego that easily shaken?
"Then go." Vartan nonchalantly flicked his ears. "This is a good area. I'm not defenseless. And once I heal, the territory will be all be mine."
If she tried to come over and strike him again, then she'd find out exactly how much strength he had left. Being pinned to the spot didn't mean he couldn't bite and lash out with his hooves. And every warrior knew that there was nothing more dangerous than a cornered, desperate beast.

"Heh. You think I'm just gonna leave my territory to you? Think again small for brains." Galaxia eyed his festering wound again with a heavy glare of scrutiny. "Not defenseless? Hah! I bet you can't even stand up on that leg let a lone fight on it."
She took to making a half circle around him. "If your in so much pain I could just end it all for you now. Ah, it would be so nice to not have to hear you anymore." A small look of bliss came over her features as she stopped a few feet short from his flank. Keeping well out of his striking range.
