well, I tried to look up lil miss "foxythang82" or whatever and the username doesn't catch anywhere.. maybe someone else already reported her on something else or I have no idea. Shoot, I work in a daycare and when I play yugi-oh with the kids and gameboy not a single kid says I'm too old. not even the 9 year olds we have there. they think it's awesome to have a teacher that enjoys the same things they do rather than get upset I'm doing what they do. I don't understand people. It's not the first thing I was told I was too old for as well. I've been told I'm too old for cartoons and video games as well. BLEH! edit: okay, I guess it's just solitary slots for me for now on, having people jump in, one asks to cyber with you and the other just say "hi" and then start to try and start things. stare maybe I should've reported them but I don't think it matters to me right now, I just want to get the freaking ace of spades and then I'm done.

I usually pick rooms that say "literate" or "18+" But even that's no guarantee. If someone pipes up with an A/S/L? I just yell "Five minute penalty for Age/Sex check!" That gets a few laughs and makes the a/s/l-er look stupid. If they continue I make them guess. Sometimes they make me guess back, but usually I hit it in one-two guesses. The most persisitant ones get my: "Well Gaia is based off anime and most anime in its original japanese is geared towards adults, not kids or teens. You guys only like it for the dumbed down kiddie american versions." That shuts em up quick. Hehehhe... That and just not dropping to their level. mocking them about their crude spelling and dumb expressions or n00b looking avis is fun too, but of course all tatesful and non insulting, just condescending.

Urgh, so many revolting children on this site. Nowadays it's hard to find a kid that says 'please' and 'thank you' once in a while, let alone is polite and isn't busy breaking things to make other kids like them. xp
There are good kids, but you're hard pressed to find them. sweatdrop

I can't say I've ever been flamed for my age. I'm 22, and I find it amazing how even 30 year olds or people my own age can be so super immature.
I'm in college this year and they all look at me like I'm 12 possibly 16 but little do they know that I'm 22 in what seems to be a young girls body. So I guess I get the opposite in reality.
My mother believes I'm too old for Gaia and anime/manga and too old for Neopets even (just the games I play and of course the pets are cute lol, but it's relaxing). I have so far encountered so many immature people here on campus that believe they're here to do nothing but party (and are my age, younger and older gonk ) that it's not even funny. I have people pounding on my door for fun at 3 am and I've had to report that this is happening at least 4 times already in the 2-3 weeks I've been here. (these times I've reported were the worst so far but it's been happening for nights in a row and I had to state that too). Luckily these things are calmed right now with all the trips and such for residence life.
The problem is on forums and chats, finding the people that are really the age they state. They could be 30 but acting like a 9 year old or they could be 9 and acting more mature for their age. You truly never know with these things.

You know what I think? I think they're both too young for Gaia. It's not about your age, it's about your maturity, open-mindedness, and above all, literacy. That nine-year-old is probably going to get herself banned for spam and harrassment very soon. If it was my room, I'd report her for it. If there's one thing Gaia does not need, it's ignorant, immature nine-year-old girls who can't type in complete sentences. Or anyone under the age of thirteen, for that matter.

The influx of incredibly young people is a fairly new thing.
This is NOT a child site like neo-pets.
Most of the oldbies ARE older.
Mods, and the creator too.
They are just beligerant children who know NOTHING.
--Edit: not that older people cannot enjoy neo pets, its just that this is not as geared to lower age groups as they are.

You're right about kids these days. I'm young, but in the classes I teach things are HORRIBLE with "please" and "thank you" or even something as simple as "bless you" when someone sneezes.

I'm young, but in the classes I teach things are HORRIBLE with "please" and "thank you" or even something as simple as "bless you" when someone sneezes. my neopets guild is getting on for 700 strong, and they are all 'grown ups' a lot are in their 40's and 50's. i can't understand why some kids are what i'd call ageist, who cares if you enjoy what you do, unfortunately all they seem to enjoy doing is flaming people with a ton of embarrassingly bad spelling and grammar confused

some people didn't hear of the word "respect".
Some of my previous classmates found me odd because I like videogames and spend money on them and I didn't spend all my money on beer and going to a pub. I don't even like beer, only mixes. but when I say that people look at me strangely and say that I MUST drink beer since everyone does that sweatdrop
And when I say I like anime/manga and videogames they say it's childish and that "a girl of 18 years old shouldn't watch cartoons" while they are wathcin Hello Kitty themselves. That's fine with me but at least they shouldn't flame me about manga and videogames. One boy on MSN said that to me once that it's childish. I said he should play Silent Hill and then say what he thought about videogames being childish >>
It's important to enjoy what you do, there's no age tied to sites and games >>' people who flame are probably just jealous.
