• Argument With Older Sister
Dear Diary,
The day had seemed to start off well. The sweltering heat that started in the main corridor had worked its way toward the stow away room behind the kitchen. Due to the heat that had arisen there, I refused to enter into the back room without it cooling down. Though the day was beautiful, going outside was out of the question. Mother and Father were home today and spending time with them was the best I could accomplish. Picking myself up with Lucas, I trailed through the heated corridor towards the living room. Mother and Father were in their usual standard way of sitting. My father sitting the end reading a newspaper with Mother resting her head against his shoulder reading something in unison. I hated interrupting their relaxing moments like so. They seemed so glad to be at peace with one another since they were always busy. But due to my dilemma, I had to ask.
"Momma, Poppa?" I called. Both of them perked their eyes toward me and I smiled the sweetest I can to try and show an apologetic face for disturbing them. Mother looked at me and smiled back in a reply. But only half of her smile seemed to be shown as her hair sweeped half of her face. "What is it Hamako, dear?" she asked. Father nodded his head as to agree with her question. "Do either of you, Mother or Father, know where Akito, Princess, or Trixy is?" I asked. They both lifted their eyebrows in unison with surprise. Rarely did I ever ask the whereabouts of my siblings. "Well." said my Father. "Trixy is away in Europe taking part in a freedom event or something. She won't be back until next week..." Mother nodded. "And Akito has gone away south to buy some things..." mother added. "So there is only Princess."
I made a slight tilt of my head and smiled. "Thank you." I said with my smile and walked out from the living room up the stairs that were in the corridor. As I climbed the stairs, I noticed I had come into contact with Princess. She was flaunting a different outfit than her usual one. This one was a pink fluffed dress with tassels and bows of pink here or there to be matched with pink stilettos. I started to walk passed her, but she made me pause. "What?" she said in a deep firm tone. "Nothing..." I replied, my voice trembling a little. "I did not ask you to answer me." she said again in that firm and awful voice. "I didn't...mean...to..." I stuttered, but when I looked at her, she was frowning and bright red. I gasped, she was mad.
"Listen here you, b*tch." she said. "Don't look at my face!" At this moment she pulled Lucas out of my hands. "Stop!" she said as I reached for him. But her stilettos added height to her and I couldn't reach him. "Give him back!" I commanded. "Why should I you b*tch?" she said, as she immediately made her grip slip on purpose. Before I knew it, Princess threw Lucas toward the bottom of the staircase. As he fell, I chased after him. "She is a horrible witch!" I thought to myself. "Why is she even my sibling?!" But as I tackled to try and catch Lucas, he slipped from my grasp and went flying once more. "No!" I cried, but as I closed my eyes expecting to here him shatter, I heard silence.
"Mademoiselle." said a familiar female voice. "You should be more careful when it comes to your things." As I looked up, I saw MeiMei holding Lucas in a cradle. I smiled and embraced her. "Thank you MeiMei!" I said as a couple of tears raced down my cheeks. "Your welcome Hamako-sama." she replied. As I smiled, Princess stomped back upstairs, the heels of her stilettos sounding more harder than normal.

• Are You Ready For Marriage?
Dear Diary,
That following evening, after waking from my mid-afternoon nap, Mother had requested my presents. I was surprised at this, as I never seemed to be bothered by my parents during the evening. "Yes Mother?" I interrupted her as she was staring at Photos. This was not a daily thing for her, to stare at photos, but I guess she wanted the nostalgic feeling of memories once more. Mother turned around and smothered her hair out of her face. "Hamako-chan? Come in and take a seat." she said. I seated myself against the leather arm hair that was set by a smoldered and not flaming fireplace. Mother took a seat on the other, and smiled again. For some particular feeling, tension arose within myself. This felt like a police interrogation, had I done something wrong? Was mother going to punish me? I fidgeted my hands slightly. I had not brought Lucas with me when I entered the room, and it felt uncomfortably wrong without him within my grasp.
Mother noticed how much fingers twitched, and placed her warm hands on mines. Her long, enameled, and perfect fingernails lightly scraped against my tanned skin. This calmed my nervousness down, but mother had not spoken a word since I entered the room. "Hamako, dear." she said as she broke my sight of looking down. My head quickly darted up to meet the brown eyes of hers. I watched her features carefully. I looked nothing like her, acted nothing like her, held no beauty like her, and yet I was accepted as her child. "Yes, mother?" I repeated again; the same statement I mentioned when I entered into the room. She quickly got to the point in which she called me into her room. "Hamako-chan. How do you feel about marriage?" she asked, tilting her head in curiosity looking for an answer. I was shocked. Such a random question to bring out of the blue! "Well." I said stiff and straight. Mother removed her hand, and fixated them in a watching position under her chin to hear my answer. "I want to have a family. And fall in love....I care not for who the person is or what the person is. If they take my heart and accept me, it is all I ask." I added, giving the most truthful answer I can give.
Mother giggled. This was not a common thing for her either. Unless father tickled her or she heard an obscene joke. "Well, isn't that fantastic!" she clapped. "There is a Gentle men's dance being held tonight." Mother said. "And many young men will be there." "What for?" I asked. Mother giggled once more. "Well, of course! To meet the Silent Blue Bell~" My ears perked up at the hearing of such a phrase. I haven't been called that in over ten years. "Silent Blue Bell" or "Blue Silent Bell" were nicknames given to me when I was younger. I rarely spoke when I was in my youth, and when I did, it was to only mention the color 'blue'. I was given both those nicknames as a matter of tease, but when my family grew wealthy and famous, I was always known as the "Silent Blue Bell". Many family members called me either nicknames due to the fact of how known it had become. But when I turned Five, the nickname died down and I wasn't called it ever again. But apparently, when my mother mentioned the name, it surely meant that the Gentle man's Ball had something to do with it.
That night, Mother had dressed me in such an outfit that was so uncomfortable and idiotic I would have preferred to just go in pants. Even worse, she had curled my hair, and oh who I dislike curling my hair. The curls always stick to my face, and it makes it quite hard to eat or drink delightful foods. As she frilled some blue ribbons in my hair, she began to tuck up the undershorts I had worn to prevent the eyes of the peeping to see. "Just pulling it up a little to add spice~" mother said as she continued to. I retorted and pulled the shorts back down. "Well, I don't want to be zesty!" I frowned. Mother continued to hold the same smile she did before. "Okay Hamako-chan~" she smiled as she finished frilling another curl and fixing another ribbon. "There, all done!" I looked over myself in the mirror and just stared. I looked horrible! Large curls framed my face, large heels prevented me from walking, the dress being too short, the ribbons being too long. No matter how much I fidgeted to try and be comfortable, it just spliced one to act back and cause another sensation of disgust. Mother placed her hands on my shoulders as she began to redirect me out of the room. "Your pumpkin chariot await Miss Blue Silent Bell~" Mother said. As I was lead out of the room, I sighed.

• Love For A Commoner?
Dear Diary,
As the limo I had entered into pulled into a halt, my hands began to fidget. Due to the time of speaking to mother, having mother dress me up, and the ride, I had forgotten about Lucas. I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye to him before the ball, or even explain the predicament I was in to him. Not even a small hug before I left, and I felt horrible in doing so. Sighing, the chauffeur opened the door and I clicked my heels out. "Thank you Nao." I said with a smile. Nao smiled back as he nodded. "Your very welcome Miss Hamako." he said he winked. I tilted my head as I looked at him. "So what are you waiting for?" I said. "Go back to Akito. He is probably lonely without someone to talk to." Nao nodded once more and shrugged. "It is very hard to take care of him sometimes." Nao said sounding like a father. "He throws tantrums and is so picky. But, I must return. Remember to call as soon as the ball is over." he said as he nodded him uniform cap toward me and returned back to the limo. I waved him off as he drove down the road. I sighed once more, time to make my appearence.
As I trotted up the stairs toward the door, a slight wind blew. It caused my curls to bunch in my face causing me to go slightly blind for a moment. Fixing myself, I tapped on the large door. "Who be at the entrance?" called a butler on the inside. I had no idea how to answer, so I replied. "I am Hamako Hamano." The butler stayed silent for a second before replying. "Be you that of filth?" Again, I had no idea how to answer. So I simply answered. "I am the Silent Blue Bell." The butler gasped at the wake of such a phrase and opened to door. "Come in Blue Maiden, Come in." he said as he opened the large door. I entered inside and noticed that all eyes appeared to be on me. Most of the vicinity of the open ball room area was filled with young men, and they each eyed me with interest. Some females adorned the room also. But they were either mothers or close relatives to the boys of the room. They were probably at the ball for the same reason as me, but more willing to meet a potential male partner that I was.
The butler raised her hand up and tinged a little bell. "Ladies and gentle!" the butler called. "I would like to draw your attention to the top staircase. Here, I am presenting the maiden of tonight. Please welcome, the Silent Blue Bell!" The people gasped at just the mention of my name. I have no idea why. Was it because I was a surprise? Or because I was suspected? I trotted down the staircase and was immediately greeted by several young men. Several "Hello"s came my way and I replied to each one with a smile and a "Hello" in return. For an hour, I was bombarded with the greetings and glances of several young men. As I had a chance to meet each one, it immediately died down as another female entered into the ball. This gave me a chance to slip into the outside garden and rest my heels from walking around too much in such awful shoes. As I maneuvered into the garden, I took a seat within the shielded swing that was perched by some white carnations. But I became terrified as I heard the voice of another call toward me. "Um, Madam, you are in my view." said the male voice. I yipped as saw a young man with a camera squatting behind me. I moved aside to allow him to see as I asked, "What are you doing?" The young man pointed toward the trees. "There is a nightingale in the tree." he said. "I want a picture of it." I nodded. He seemed to be quite an interesting man to be wanting to take a picture of a bird so late at night.
I turned back toward trees, and he broke my thoughts with more speech. "Why are you here?" he questioned. "Well." I said simply. But before I could answer, he had swiftly taken seat next to me on the swing. "I am resting my feet." I finished. He smiled and nodded. "Interesting..." he said. At that statement, began one of the longest conversations I had ever had with someone. That night, me and that mysterious boy within the carnations talked. We talked, laughed, and agreed on mostly everything we talked about. But as I lost track of time, he sprang up and shook his head. "Look at the time!" he panicked as he picked up his camera and began to flee. "Wait!" I said as I pulled back his arm before he ran. "What...is your name?" I asked. He smiled once more before turning around and landing a peck on my cheek. "Name's Izekiel." he said before reached into the carnation bush and plucking a carnation. "For you." he added. I just smiled and giggled. "I am the Silent Blue Bell." I said. "Not the Quiet White Carnation." He smirked once more before running and jumping over the nearest grated fence. I slumped back onto the swing. Why was my heart beating so fast at that moment? As I felt sluggish, I just remembered. I grabbed the phone from my inner purse and called Nao. "Um, come pick me up please..." I trailed as I clicked the phone off. What an evening...

• Feelings Before the First Day of School
Dear Diary,
As I tossed from waking from my nap, I huffed. I had been sleeping the last couple of days now, ever since the Gentle Men's ball I attended. My thoughts were still on the commoner Izekiel, but my thoughts also turned on school beginning to start. Ever since attending Ouran Junior, I was now heading for Ouran High. Not only was this suppose to be an exciting moment...But an ideal one to know I advanced a year from youth into adulthood. But I had become so nervous to find out about the first day of school, I fidgeted and shook. I was so paralyzed with nervousness that I couldn't even hold a tea cup without spilling it on a brand new dress. To help calm myself, I slept from the couple of days leading to the first day. I only turned myself to sleeping as it calmed my head from clouded thoughts on the first day of school. Now, I had awoken again from frightful nightmares of myself making a fool of myself on the first day. MeiMei was sitting by my bedside this time, cautiously looking over me to make sure I was okay. "Hamako-sama," she said in her loving voice. "Are you okay? Would you like some tea?" Nodding as I arose in a sitting position, MeiMei got up and headed for the door. "What would you like? Red, White, Oolong, Black, or Jasmine Tea?" she asked as she clutched the door before leaving. "Uhh...Um...Red T-tea please, MeiMei." I stuttered as I rubbed my temple. I felt horrible. Such dreams had haunted me for quite a while...And I was getting tired of it.
As I waited for MeiMei to return with my tea, I got up and started out the window that was above my bed. The sunshine burned through the window paine as the rays of afternoon spliced the clear material. It was such a beautiful day...and yet I cocked myself up in my room sleeping off the thoughts of embarrassment. Maybe I should just ask mother and father to home school me? It would be so much easier on me. I wouldn't be having such nightmares...such thoughts...such feelings...Suddenly, a knock came from mu bedroom door. "Hamako-sama, your tea is ready." came the voice of MeiMei as she peaked in slightly holding the tray with the essentials for a tea party. "Come in MeiMei, there was no need of you to knock." MeiMei came in and placed the tray on the side table as she beckoned me over. "Please Hamako-sama, have some tea and head back into your nap." she said as she poured a cup of the copper-red tea and offered it to me. I walked over and sat on the yellow pillow and sipped the sipped the soothing liquid. "Join me MeiMei!" I offered to her. "We haven't done this in a while; and you have been sticking to your maid duties for too long."
"Oh, but Mademoiselle..."she said. "I would but I-" MeiMei paused as I looked at her. She knew that look of mines; it meant to stop the talking and join me. She did exactly that as we sat in silence and sipped the tea until the pot was dry. While I gulped my last of the cup, I looked at MeiMei. "I wish..." I said, and she immediately paused before looking at me and placed her half full cup back on the plate. "I wish..." I continued as I trailed my gaze off to the window. "That I can turn into a bird and escape all this...Birds seems to always want to fly away and they get their wish. But the ones who always wish for it...only seems to have their wishes fly away instead..." I said. MeiMei stayed silent. She knew I was having a tough time and now it was her turn to comfort me through it. "But those wishes..." she said. "Sometimes do not escape. They just travel away, away from the bearer of the maker. Just because they do not have a presence; does not mean they are not there. Time is just need, to make the wish a reality." I smiled back at her when she finished. "Well said." I said towards her. "Thank you Hamako-sama." At that moment, a beeping noise came into order. MeiMei switched herself as she shut the beeper off and looked at it. "I apologize Mademoiselle..." she said as she got up and quickly snatched up the items from the tea. "Nao-kun has asked for my assistance and I must be off to assist him. Please excuse me."
As MeiMei left the room, I returned to slumber. As I dozed off, I awoke several hours later to the face of my brother standing in front of me. "Hamako-tan..." he said. "You are going to be late for your first day of school~" I quickly jolted up and stared at the clock. Without even blinking, I rushed to the bathroom. "Why did you wake me up so late?!" I complained. Akito just rested himself against the bathroom wall and replied, "You looked so elegant and sweet with your hair so ruffled against the pillow. I couldn't wake my cute younger sister like so. I'm sorrryyyy~!"

• Sweet, Sweet Smile
[[Song Hamako singing can be found here: The Carpenters - Sweet Sweet Smile]]
Dear Diary,
Before the first day of school, I had remembered something. Something from a dream. A dream that was truly a reality. It began two years ago when I was thirteen. It was my birthday and I wanted to have a party. But since Mother and Father were not home, it couldn't be done. But MeiMei promised me to buy a cake, so she was already out buying it. I had gotten bored so I snuck into Mother and Father's room. They held a lot of old albums in their room, but there was only one I was interested in. An old song that I always enjoyed. Once I found the cassette, I put it into the player. That's when I broke out into song.
"You're always in my heart from early in the mornin' 'til it's dark I gotta see your sweet smile ev'ry day. When I wake up in the mornin' and I see you there
I always whisper a little pray'r I gotta see your sweet smile ev'ry day. I gotta know that you love me and that you want me and that you'll always be there. I've gotta know that you care~!"
I giggled as I danced to the song. It was a quick song, but the upbeat tune kept me from staying still.
"And I gotta feel your arms around me and that you need me and that you'll always be there
I've gotta know that you care."
Dancing around my parent's room, I twirled in my dress. It felt amazing! Almost as if I was the center of attention throughout the entire song.
"If my times are bringing me down
you're the only that I want around I gotta see your sweet smile ev'ry day. And if I'm all strund out you're the only one who can straighten me out I gotta see your sweet sweet smile ev'ry day.
I gotta know you love me and that you want me~!"
I sang. It was quite entertaining. But the song had already finished and MeiMei would be back soon. As I went to go put the cassette from its original spot, I heard giggling coming from the doorway. Scared, I quickly placed the cassette and ran from the drawer shutting it tight. "Oh Hamako, don't be scared!" said the voice. I peaked from where I hide, which was behind a footrest. It was Princess. Apparently, she was giggling quite much. Scared and embarrassed, I glared at her. "W-who are you laughing at?!" I said mad. She giggled once more before handing me a box. "Happy Birthday Hamako~!" she said. As I opened, I noticed a pair or blue hairclips. Widening my eyes, I stared up with Princess with a smile. She in turn gave me the same expression. That was a wonderful memory. The first time...my sister smiled at me.

Hamako receives a rather simple offering: an assortment of gourmet chocolates of various types and fillings along with a small bouquet of blue roses; it was honestly the best the sender could come up with. A note's attached to the box, too, the handwriting messy, so it seems to be a last ditch effort.
"Sorry for the lack of creativity, but, whatever. Happy Valentine's Day."
