Phoenixfire cringed as there came another set of hard stomps from Saint Joey. She clenched her teeth together as she willed herself to begin to stand and fight back against her unsatisfied opponent. Phoenix was amazed that her adversary was such an unsavory, moody opponent that had tendencies for brash, immature behavior. As she chuckled to herself about those thoughts,Phoenix delighted in the fact that she had the opportunity to unseat this cocky individual from and prove him wrong that women deserved to have a foothold in any title-hunt.

The heretic is always better dead...

Seeing that his stomps were losing affect against the willpower of Pheonixfire, Joey momentarily ceased his attacks. He bent his knees slightly, summing up his opponent. She had spirit, no doubts there, but Joey still didn't like her. He would go for a quick kick to her side as she was getting up, hoping to inflict some damage.

((Sorry for my recent activity here, btw. I've been working a match with Jed today, and since it's the last week of school I've had alot on my plate. Since the holidays start tomorrow, I should be online alot more often (b' ')b ))

((Understandable. I thought you probably had a few things on your plate. I know how you feel,I've been helping around the house and organizing my things for college in September;it's very hectic.))

Phoenixfire crumbled to the mat as she took a kick to side, doubling over in pain as she wrapped her arms around her torso. She knew that if she didn't start to fight back,Joey would continue to work her over until she had no energy to fight back, which was what was beginning to happen now. Phoenix moved to get to her feet and if she could muster up enough strength, she'd try to go for a flurry of punches to wherever she could manage to get them.

Joey looked at Pheonix trying to gain her offence. The first couple of blows hit Joey's chest, and he didn't feel too badly hurt. He began to chuckle as the blows bounced off of...

CRACK!

Just as he was getting confident, a shot went straight to Joey's jaw. He stumbled backwards, losing his footing and falling to one knee as he fell towards the ropes. With one hand he held his chin, which was aching badly after that shot!

Phoenixfire stood there in awe for a few moments, not believing she'd actually repelled Saint Joey in such a fashion She winced as she turned around holding her torso, wincing as she tried to limp over to the center ring. If she were to have any chance to win this match, she'd have to gain momentum and take things up a notch, throw the crowd a curve ball to get 'em off their feet and cheering for her. Phoenix gritted her teeth before bouncing back against the ropes, setting off in sprint and hoping for a successful single leg running dropkick.

Joey was hit with the dropkick as he began to come back to the centre of the ring, to continue the fight. It sent him to the floor, and the crowd were delighted that Pheonix was finally beginning to get some offense in. Joey rolled to the outside of the ring. He looked at the ref.

"What are you doing? Even these stupid fans know that was a cheap shot! She should be disqualified! Stupid ref! Do your job!"

((Sorry this took so long,I had to take my laptop into my room so my mother would stop reading/critiquing my posts over my shoulder...))

Phoenixfire chuckled as she relaxed against the turnbuckle for a brief moment to catch her breath, watching as Saint Joey began his complaint about 'unfair' this match was. She couldn't believe that somebody with such an overinflated ego as he had was such a whiner! Phoenix rose her voice as she spoke, offering a reply to what she overhead him say.

"Cheap shot? I didn't think it was that..."

Phoenix looked at Joey with a playful smile on her face, having fun getting on his last nerve.

"Oh,is somebody afraid of a little competition?"

(('Tis quite alright (b' ')b ))

Joey looked up, hearing Phoenix' comment.

"Competition? What, you? Ha! This referee is tougher then you are, you stupid little girl!"

Speaking of the referee, he had been counting while Joey was talking, and had got to five. Joey noticed this, and raced back into the ring. The ref seemed to be against him on this one. He stood, staring Phoenixfire down.

Phoenixfire found herself locked into the indignant stare of her adversary, waiting for the first move to be made. She knew she'd have to be on her toes now,but as she thought to herself she could think of no move to knock Joey on his a** and keep him there. Phoenix glanced out of the corners of her eyes at the surroundings and the people, picking out what she could use to her advantage. The barricade or steel stairs? No,if she stayed out of the ring too long both risked a count-out and she had the chance of fetching herself a disqualification. The turnbuckle? No,too predictable. The table would be an expected weapon, too;so that crossed it off the list. Maybe she'd just have to wing it and be quick to catch her opponent in a bind. Which would mean to cut the small talk and make with the moves. Phoenix sighed as she locked stares again with the 'Saint',offering her reply.

"You underestimate me,Joey. How touching!"

"Touching? See, I knew you were a whore!"

Joey wasn't underestimating Phoenix. At least, not in his mind. He walked up closer to her as they continued to stare daggers into each other. To show how little he thought of her, Joey went to shove her to the floor. If it was successful, he would laugh and point, as all good bullies do.

Phoenixfire fell backwards onto the mat,Joey's words piercing her conscious with an intensity sharper than a thousand knives. It infuriated her how misguided he was about women in general and how he had belittled her very character. She sat there for a moment or two, staring blankly into the mat, trying to process what had just happened and decide what she should do about it. Phoenix stayed seated on the mat, looking upwards with an angry glare as she stuttered, trying to bring herself to speak.

"You b***h!"

The heretic is always better dead...

Joey was running low on schoolyard insults. As a retort to Phoenix' comment, he could only think of one thing to say:

"Takes one to know one!"

... Lame, and he knew that, but it would help to make Phoenix a little more angry and confused. Which was, in fact, what he was intending to do. He took a couple of steps backwards, waiting for her to get to her feet, and when she did, he would continue the match by going for an irish whip to the corner.

Phoenixfire hesitated a moment as she got to her feet, feeling wounded by the mocking words. She wasn't expecting anything from Joey at the moment,so it came to her as a small shock when she was irish whipped into one of the nearest turnbuckles, crumpling to the mat as waves of pain reverberated through her back and arms. This isn't what she quite had in mind for gaining momentum in this match, finding it quite apparent that her effort to gain the upper hand was fading away with each second.

The heretic is always better dead...

Doing what was deemed obvious by many wrestlers, Joey went to the opposite corner in the hopes that he would get a better run-up, and thus impact on his move. He ran full pace towards Phoenix, grinning as he leapt into the air to attempt a dropkick to her chest.
